On a regular Friday, I planned to go to the ramen shop I wanted to visit when it opened at 11 a.m. I arrived at the client's location a little before 10 a.m., but due to the client's mistake, I couldn't reach them. After making various phone calls to related people, I finally met them close to noon. I was tired of explaining, so I quickly handed over what I needed to and left. Since it was already close to lunchtime, I knew any place I went to would be crowded, so I decided to check out the customer's family sale that was starting today. Even though I didn't have anything specific to buy, I checked out the sales floor from a work perspective and by 1 p.m., I decided to head to the ramen shop I originally wanted to visit. To my surprise, it was located right next to the tonkatsu restaurant where I had eaten before. I noticed that the shop next door had a dish called "Tokyo-X special loin cutlet set (230g)" for 4,840 yen, which seemed quite expensive. Unfortunately, the Tokyo-X chashu ramen that I wanted to try was no longer on the menu. I also couldn't find the "umami soy sauce ramen" or the "rich Chinese ramen" that others had written about. It seems like the menu has changed in the past three years. So, I stood in front of the ticket machine pondering what to order, and when people started lining up behind me, I decided to give up my spot and went outside to look at the menu again. I settled on ordering the Chinese ramen (870 yen) and a rice with raw egg (200 yen) to keep it light since I had plans for a barbecue and drinks later that night. As I sat down after purchasing my meal ticket, my order arrived promptly. The aroma was delightful, and the soup looked delicious. The bonito flakes were the star of the show, and the fish powder in the soup with the fresh bonito flakes on top made it irresistible. The rich seafood broth was a hit, although it was a bit oily. The thick noodles had a nice chew to them, and they paired perfectly with the flavorful soup. The thick slices of chashu had a good amount of fat, which may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I found it enjoyable. The combination of chashu, rice with raw egg, and soup was heavenly. Additionally, the self-service option to pour extra broth was a nice touch, and I found it to be delicious. Overall, I was impressed by the quality of the ramen, and I noticed how the ramen scene has evolved with so many amazing shops. I highly recommend it. Thank you for the meal!
