There is a ticket machine at the entrance where you can purchase the "Jou Takao Teishoku" while looking at the large menu. The interior has a long counter seat and a chic design with jazz music playing in the background. They offer three free services: "Black Oolong Tea," "Pickles," and "Kombu Cod Roe," and the staff will bring you as much pickles and kombu cod roe as you like. Both are delicious! Especially, the thinly sliced kombu in the "Kombu Cod Roe" has a soft texture and a great umami taste. The "Jou Takao Ten Teishoku" I ordered includes pork, 2 shrimp, 2 types of seafood, and 3 types of vegetables. I started with the shrimp and scallop tempura with a bit of salt. The shrimp was juicy and the scallop was moist, with a crispy coating. The vegetables like shiitake mushrooms and yam were also perfectly fried. The pork didn't meet my expectations in terms of taste, but overall, the quality of tempura at "Takao" is the best among the top three tempura shops. The fact that you can have unlimited servings of "Kombu Cod Roe" was a pleasant surprise, and the pickles were so delicious that I kept asking for more. If you want a refill of kombu mentaiko or pickles, just ask the staff and they will bring it to you. The kombu mentaiko is smooth kombu with a moderate spiciness of mentaiko, which is delicious. It's great to eat it together with tempura. The pickles are made daily with cabbage, lotus root, daikon, etc., and the refreshing acidity clears your mouth. The yuzu pepper, like Tabasco, is also a feature here, and it goes well with the meat tempura.

Last time, the white fish in the alcohol set was blowfish and was very delicious and memorable. This time, the fish was eel tempura, which had a slight fishy smell. Enjoying freshly fried tempura with beer was the best.
