I had only ever eaten Ichiran ramen that I made at home, so it was my first time going to the actual restaurant. I was surprised by the price of 980 yen for a bowl of ramen, but I liked that I could choose the firmness of the noodles, richness, spiciness, and types of green onions. I added a half portion of extra noodles and a half-boiled egg halfway through. The taste was just delicious.

Every day, from morning until night, I would play to my heart's content, and even when I still wasn't satisfied with playing, I would stay up late at night and then go out after sleeping in. I used to often line up and eat at Ichiran on the narrow staircase in Shibuya. Honestly, I had forgotten about its existence. It had been about 15 years since I last thought about Ichiran. For some reason, it suddenly came to mind and I happened to see an Ichiran sign at just the right moment. Not in Shibuya, but in Shimokitazawa. There was no line. I had to eat there!! The ramen used to be 780 yen, but now it's 980 yen. It had been so long, so I decided to keep it simple and just went for the classic. The nostalgic enclosed seating area. The rotating sudare curtain. Waiters whose faces you can't see. The style of writing your preferences on a piece of paper and handing it over. Nothing had changed. About 4-5 minutes after ordering, it was brought to me and it had a certain aura! I took a sip of the soup. Mm.. delicious! Huh? Delicious! What? Delicious! No way!! Delicious!!! It surpassed the taste I had in my memory by far, with its rich umami and sweetness! This is irresistible.. I slurped up the thin noodles in one go, unable to stop! I thought I would just have one more sip of soup, but ended up finishing it all!! Memories are vague, aren't they? I can't help but wonder why I didn't eat this for 15 years. On a scorching night, the hot, flavorful soup and the never-ending thin noodles were amazing! I will definitely eat it again! It's bound to make you crave it!!

I thought it would be less crowded in the evening, but to my surprise, it was full and I had to wait a few minutes. I had read a comment saying that the branch in Shimokitazawa was not busy, so I thought I could be served quickly, which was a bit shocking. The interior of the restaurant is not very spacious, and I waited at the familiar counter seats. The taste is the same no matter where you eat, I always get an extra serving, but today I tried ordering rice and found that Ichiran ramen doesn't go well with rice. I think the extra serving is definitely better. There were quite a few foreigners who stayed for a long time, and I wondered if that's why it was crowded. I wish people would eat quickly and leave at this kind of restaurant. It's been a while since I last had it, but it always tastes the same, and for someone like me who drinks a lot of water, having a water tap is much appreciated. I feel like craving it occasionally, but whenever I go, I just think, "Well, it's the same as always," it's one of those mysterious restaurants.

I stayed up late and decided to go for ramen as a way to finish off after drinking! It's great that you can customize it to your liking! I always go for firm noodles with extra green onions topping, and then it's just whatever I feel like at the moment haha. The soup was consistent and really hit the spot (^^) Thank you for the meal♪

Hong Kong people love Ichiran ramen, and there are branches in Hong Kong as well, but it's still tastier in Japan. However, I recently noticed that this ramen shop is doing too well that there is no progress, and strictly speaking, it seems to be regressing compared to other shops! In particular, the quality of the pork has decreased, and improvement is expected in the future!

I went to Ichiran after a long time. The stability that comes from being a ramen that everyone has tried at least once is what makes it great. The Shimokitazawa branch was less crowded compared to the one in Shibuya, so I was able to get in and have my ramen in about 5 minutes. It was the usual delicious Ichiran. Thank you for the meal.

You can always count on this ramen shop for consistent and reliable quality. However, the noodles are so thin that even women may not feel satisfied without getting a noodle refill. It might be difficult to leave here feeling full. The green tea dessert was also delicious.

On a Sunday afternoon, Shimokitazawa was crowded and the desired restaurant had a long line, so I was in a bit of a pickle. That's when I spotted Ichiran and decided to go in. It had been a really long time since I last visited Ichiran, maybe only the second time in my life. The same taste concentration system as before the pandemic, which used to feel strange, now felt comfortable with its thorough isolation. Even though there is only one type of ramen, you can smoothly customize the soup richness, the presence of green onions and garlic, and the firmness of the noodles. The secret sauce in the middle is spicy, so I thought it might not be suitable for families with children, but you can also choose to have it without the sauce! That's great. I opted for no garlic or green onions, except for a little green onion because without any green onions, it felt too plain and strange. If I had to ask for more, it would be great if they accepted electronic money or credit cards in addition to cash for payment, instead of just cash vouchers. Maybe the app they were promoting on the chopstick wrapper could have helped with that? If I have the chance to go again, I will check out the app.

I try various ramen places, but I still love Ichiran ramen the most! I'm not good with spicy food, but the red sauce is so delicious that I end up adding it every time. It's a tonkotsu ramen, but I can eat it without getting tired of it until the end. I want to eat it every day!

It was crowded so I bought a food ticket and waited. I should have taken a photo! I could choose the firmness, spiciness, amount of oil, type of green onions, amount of garlic, etc. I'm not good with spicy food so I chose a lower level of spiciness than usual. Of course, plenty of garlic! The noodles were firm and the soup was hot! It was delicious!!! The firmness of the noodles was just right, and it had been a while since I had thin noodles! The garlic was also strong and fantastic. Even though I'm not good with spicy food, I still seek out spiciness, a contradiction! Next time, I think I'll go with the normal level of spiciness!

I visited around 16:00 on Saturday. I purchased a meal ticket at the entrance. I ordered ramen with extra noodles (1190 yen), additional green onions (130 yen), wood ear mushrooms (130 yen), Oskaran's acidity (130 yen), and fat-breaking green tea (250 yen). I wanted to buy more, but stopped myself... Every time I go, I think about how expensive it is to eat until I'm full, around 2000 yen, which is a downside. Once seated, I filled out the order sheet. Flavor richness → basic Richness level → very rich Garlic → basic Green onions → with Chashu → yes Red secret sauce → basic Noodle firmness → firm The ramen arrived in about 5 minutes. I hadn't expected much from Ichiran after a long time, but after the first bite, I realized it was delicious! There is a reason why it's so popular. The pork bone soup is sweet but has a rich and smooth flavor. The noodles have a good texture and a strong wheat taste. But still, the portion is small - I quickly finished the extra noodles. I could have easily eaten two more bowls... Occasionally, Ichiran is nice to have, but it's definitely a luxurious brand of ramen! Thank you for the meal!

Lunch today Recently, while exploring the area around Shimokitazawa, I was curious about Ichiran. Today, I challenged it alone. It was around lunchtime, but I was able to enter without waiting. In the fiercely competitive area of Shimokitazawa, I wonder if everyone chooses a different ramen shop? I ordered half an extra serving at the vending machine, but I think I got a full serving. It's been a while since I had Ichiran. It's still delicious. My daughter always orders the free kids' ramen, but this time she tried the regular adult ramen for the first time! We also ordered extra noodles, and it was so delicious that we drank up all the soup! I didn't know there was a message hidden underneath since I always leave some soup behind.

To be honest, the service at this branch is slower compared to other branches. It's still fast, but just in comparison to the others. You have to order the extra noodles quite early. And honestly, it's hard to read. Other places, you can tell when the main dish will arrive, but with this place, it's not very reliable.

It's still a counter where you can remove the taste concentration board. In the past, everyone was like this. I can feel the history with the call button too. It's nostalgic. It's located in a somewhat back alley, but it's close to the station, so it's convenient to use.

In the summer, it was common to come to this ramen shop on hot days and sweat while eating, but as the temperature drops, I often come here on days when my appetite is low. The tonkotsu ramen here comes with a secret spicy sauce, which makes the flavor rich and easy to swallow. This time, I ordered just the ramen without seaweed. I like the flavor to be normal, half of the secret sauce, no garlic, green onions instead of regular onions, and with chashu. I asked for the noodles to be cooked normally. I usually skip the garlic. I think green onions are essential for Kyushu ramen. Some people like their noodles to be firm, but the noodles here feel slightly firm even when ordered normally, so I always go with the normal option. The bowl arrived quickly. Even though my appetite was low, I found it delicious for some reason. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant for a late lunch again. Originally, I planned to go to Ikedodo, but it seems they are temporarily closed until August 22 due to the state of emergency. The nearby restaurant "Atama" was crowded, so I decided to change to Ichiran at the last minute. I entered the restaurant and bought a meal ticket at the machine. The ramen cost 930 yen, and with seaweed for 120 yen, it was 1050 yen. When I tried to go to the left side of the restaurant, there were quite a few noisy young people sitting there. So, reluctantly, I went to the right side where no one was seated. I sat down, filled out the order form, and handed in the meal ticket. The people on the other side were very loud. They seemed young, but I wish they would consider infection prevention a bit more. After a short wait, the bowl arrived. As usual, I ordered it without garlic, with green onions, and everything else normal. I also asked for the regular amount of special sauce. The red sauce here has chili peppers in it, which increases appetite. I first tasted the soup as it is, then ate the thin noodles. Hmm, it's quite delicious. I wrapped the chashu and green onions in seaweed and ate them. But this restaurant only gives two sheets of seaweed. Stingy!!! I want more seaweed!! Well, eating hot noodles on a hot day, maybe I'm the strange one. Bon appétit!

It's been about four years since my last visit. In the midst of the COVID-19 state of emergency, why not visit this original social distancing-style restaurant? I decided to go for a late lunch. After some hesitation at the entrance, I ordered the basic ramen for 930 yen. The interior of the restaurant was still dimly lit, and I chose a seat on the right side of the counter, near the entrance. I filled out the order form (flavor, garlic preference, amount of secret sauce) and handed it over with the payment. The bowl arrived relatively quickly. The presentation was nice with two slices of char siu and a good color from the green onions I selected. I opted for a little less secret sauce and kept everything else at a standard level. The noodles were cooked normally, not too firm. I took a sip of the soup, which still had that Fukuoka flavor. It didn't have the typical toppings like wood ear mushrooms or pickled ginger, but I enjoyed mixing in the secret sauce halfway through for a change in taste. It was satisfying. I enjoyed my meal. The dining experience felt like sitting in a library booth, but in the current situation, it's a pretty safe way to have lunch. Thank you for the meal!

The only option on the menu was the standard "ramen" priced at 930 yen per bowl, which I found surprisingly expensive. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was lively, with the energetic voices of the staff and the sound of a musical instrument playing in the background. I bought a meal ticket, filled out a form indicating the firmness of the noodles and the richness of the flavor, and called a staff member by pressing a button. The food was served in just a few minutes. I ordered the flavor and spiciness as "normal," but found it a bit lacking in taste. The chashu (pork slices) was a bit tough. The portion size was not very large, so I finished it quickly. The taste was milder than I had expected. If I have the chance to go again, I will order a richer flavor next time. I like this system, it's easy and relaxed. I'd like to go alone next time!
