This is a tonkatsu restaurant located about a 5-minute walk from Hakozaki-Kyudai-Mae Station on the Fukuoka City Subway. I visited for lunch on a Saturday. I arrived at 10:30, 30 minutes before opening, and there was already a line forming, with me being 8th in line. The restaurant has 8 counter seats, so I just made it in on the first round. By opening time, there were about 20 people in line, so those beyond the 3rd round were guaranteed a wait. I recommend arriving early. The lunch menu offers the top loin cutlet and top fillet cutlet for 1300 yen each, which is the cheapest option. The loin is 200 grams, the fillet is 150 grams, and rice, miso soup, and cabbage are free refills, making it a reasonable price. I chose the special top black pork loin cutlet lunch for 1900 yen. I also added a shrimp fry for 400 yen and a highball for 450 yen. The tonkatsu that arrived was delicious, with a slightly pink color. The meat was juicy and the fat was incredibly sweet. The sweetness and deliciousness of the fat was exceptional. It was so good for the price of 1900 yen. I didn't know a place this delicious existed, I was surprised. Another impressive aspect was the cabbage. It was cut well and soft, making it easy to eat. Of course, I got a refill. It was a tonkatsu that was worth waiting in line for. Thank you for the meal.

The frog in the well does not know the great ocean. But it knows the depth of tonkatsu. It's lunchtime. I'm hungry. I wonder what mood I'm in today. I search using Tabelog and Google. Ding! Found it! This is the place! I cautiously approach around 12:30 on Friday. Oh! There are about 5 people in line. I can handle this! Still enduring the lingering summer heat, I waited for about 40 minutes. I was led to a counter at the back. I ordered the lunch set with loin katsu. It costs 1300 yen. Choose between sauce, wasabi soy sauce, or lemon salt. Finally, the loin katsu arrived. I took a bite. Ah, happiness~ This katsu has perfectly captured the brightness of the pig's life. The sweetness of the pork melting in my mouth. I didn't talk, didn't look away, just focused on the katsu. Devour it. I ended up having three bowls of rice in a small teacup. This katsu is definitely the best choice!

It is August 2023, and I am on a business trip to Fukuoka after almost half a year. For lunch, I decided to visit a popular tonkatsu restaurant near my workplace, which is said to be operated by a Fukuoka meat supplier. I knew there would be a line, so I arrived thinking they would open at 11:30 am based on pre-reviews, but it turns out they actually open at 11:00 am, and the first round of customers had already been seated. The 40-minute wait from there was quite long. I had prepared for the slow turnover, so I spent the time meditating in the heat. While waiting in line, the staff came to take orders. I ordered the Special Premium Black Pork Loin Cutlet Set Meal. By chance or by design, all the previous customers left at the same time, and a whole new set of customers entered. The restaurant only has a counter and is not very spacious, but it does not have a strong oil smell and feels clean. The Special Premium Black Pork Loin Cutlet Set Meal (tax included 1900 yen) seemed to be fried at a low temperature in lard based on the frying time and sound. After being fried, it was allowed to rest for a while. The cutlet was cut in a way that the cross-section was visible by tilting the middle part sideways. The center of the thick-cut loin was slightly pink, almost rare. The coating was crispy and light, and it did not peel off easily when eating, which was good. The meat had a chewy texture and was slightly firm. The black pork, including the fat, had a subtle sweetness that spread gently. The recommended way to eat it is first with lemon salt. Squeeze plenty of lemon and sprinkle with salt. This is good, but the best way is to pour sweet soy sauce with wasabi, as mentioned next. The fat becomes refreshing, and this was the best way to enjoy it. I remember eating black pork this way at a certain restaurant in Daimon. The third way is to grate sesame and drizzle with sauce, which was not very memorable. The cabbage was not dry and was delicious. The miso soup was not pork soup but seaweed soup. The rice was glossy and tasty but the portion was small. I am not sure if refills are available. The side dishes were burdock and konjac simmered in, and something else that was not very memorable. Overall, the tonkatsu was delicious, but I wonder if it is worth such a long queue. It might be better if they could manage reservations or control the line better. Thank you for the meal.

On Saturday at 5:50 PM, there was only one customer. I was surprised because when I came for lunch before, there was a huge line. The premium black pork fillet cutlet set for 150g at 1,800 yen was delicious as always. It's expected for this price. However, the lunch fillet cutlet was cheaper and even more delicious. You can't avoid the line, but lunch is recommended. Thank you for the meal.

When I lived in Kyoto, I visited a few tonkatsu specialty restaurants that seemed a bit high-end, but this one was the best I've had so far. I ordered the top loin cutlet with shrimp fry, and the top loin cutlet was rich and satisfying. Even after 2 pm on a weekday, there were still many customers waiting, showing its popularity.

Starting with the conclusion, jokingly saying "I don't need teeth, I can drink" but indeed, it is a tonkatsu that you can drink. As expected from a "Top 100 Tonkatsu Restaurants," I felt relieved for some reason. The exterior has a very calming appearance. Prior information mentioned that if you miss out on the first batch of 8 people, you will have to wait for a considerable amount of time. I was cautious and arrived at 10:10, but there was already a waiting list of 2 people. By 10:30, there were 11 people waiting, and by 11:00, there were 13 people waiting (5 people were not able to get in, and there was still a wait of over 30 minutes). While waiting in line, they took our orders: - Top Sirloin Cutlet Lunch: 150g for 1,300 yen - Top Loin Cutlet Lunch: 200g for 1,300 yen Upon entering, we were asked to pay immediately, and it's cash only. It was announced that taking photos inside the restaurant, other than the food, is not allowed. By the way, the interior was very clean and had a sense of cleanliness. Refills for cabbage, rice, and miso soup are free. On the table, there were tonkatsu sauce, soy sauce, mustard, and dressing. The recommended way to eat by the restaurant is to start with salted lemon, then wasabi soy sauce, and finally tonkatsu sauce. There was sesame in a container, so we crushed it and mixed it with tonkatsu sauce. The cabbage dressing was a simple shiso dressing. The food was served in about 15 minutes, and first of all, visually, the cross-section was a beautiful pink color, with juices oozing out. The first bite with salted lemon was surprisingly tender, almost too soft that even if I lose my teeth in the future, I could still eat it. There was hardly any greasiness, and it was very light and delicious. The sirloin was also tender enough, with a little fat but a noticeable sweetness. The breading was thin, and the thickness of the sirloin and loin was impressive, providing a satisfying bite. I had plenty of cabbage and miso soup refills. The white rice was shiny and delicious, but I had to resist. Thank you for the meal, it was incredibly delicious. I hope to visit again soon. At the time of leaving, there was a line of 13 people, including the 5 who couldn't get in at the opening.

When looking back at the photo records, it had been about 2 years since my last visit. Even though it had been a while, it was my third visit so I decided to try the special top-grade black pork loin cutlet lunch. The taste was... delicious, but I felt that a regular loin cutlet would have been just fine. Maybe it was just this time, but there was a lot of fatty parts. I ended up feeling quite heavy in my stomach at night. Overall, I thought it was tasty when I finished eating, but it was disappointing that the side dishes were the same as at another restaurant. I don't think those hijiki and takana dishes really suit either place.

This is my second visit. I waited in line with about 6 people and was able to enter the restaurant in about 40 minutes. I had the limited special premium black pork loin cutlet lunch. The meat was tender and the fat was excellent, but not too heavy, so it was easy to eat. I like that you can choose from 3 different flavors to eat according to your preference. Lemon salt, sweet wasabi soy sauce, and ground sesame with sauce. Personally, I love the sweet wasabi soy sauce. I also had the shrimp fry last time I visited, and it was big and juicy, so I highly recommend it.

A long-established butcher shop in Otoinegi, Fukuoka Prefecture, "Ide Shoten," operates a tonkatsu restaurant. Ide Shoten also operates tonkatsu restaurants under the names "Chizuru" and "Kinnotsuru" in Fukuoka Prefecture, but this restaurant is positioned as a high-end establishment. Thick slices of Kyushu brand pork, coated in a light-colored batter fried at low temperatures. In addition to sauce and salt, various flavors such as lemon salt, wasabi soy sauce, and sesame sauce are available for changing the taste. The lunch menu seems to offer good value for money. It is recommended to avoid long lines on weekends by adjusting your timing or visiting during early hours.

I visited for lunch. I arrived before the opening, but there were already people lining up, so I couldn't get in on the first round. I parked at a nearby coin parking lot. I ordered the special premium black pork loin cutlet lunch. The most important thing, the tonkatsu, had a slightly pink center and looked incredibly delicious, already increasing my appetite. I tried the recommended way of eating, which is with lemon salt, and it was absolutely delicious. The thickness of the tonkatsu and the cooking were exquisite, and by eating it with lemon salt, you can directly taste the deliciousness of the pork. Next, I tried the second recommended way of eating, which is with wasabi soy sauce, and it was amazingly delicious. This way of eating was the most impressive. The sweetness of the pork and the spiciness of the wasabi combined perfectly, and the sweet soy sauce tied it all together in a perfect combination. Even those who don't like wasabi should try it. Finally, I tried the third recommended way of eating, which is with ground sesame and tonkatsu sauce, and it was also undeniably delicious. Overall, I felt the dedication to the pork and the frying process, and I enjoyed it very much. The rice, cabbage, and miso soup being all-you-can-eat was also a nice touch. The side dishes other than the tonkatsu were also quite delicious, and overall, the quality was high. Thank you for the meal.

I lined up from 11:30 and ordered the Black Pork Loin Cutlet (1,900 yen). I waited patiently and the dish was served at 12:45. The cutlet was thick and the oil was not too heavy, with a subtle sweetness that showcased the owner's dedication to quality. Eating it with wasabi was particularly delicious, adding just the right amount of flavor. The only downside was the long wait time, but that's expected for a popular restaurant. It might not be suitable for a quick lunch for office workers. I would like to visit again in the evening. Thank you for the meal.

I arrived at 11:30 and it was raining, but there were about 7 groups lining up. It took about 1 hour to serve the 7 groups. Inside, there is only an L-shaped counter and you place your order while waiting in line. I ordered the Hire (fillet) set for 1300 yen, and the meat was really delicious. The breading was a bit too thick for my liking, but for 1300 yen, to get such a tender and tasty fillet cutlet is amazing value. I'm definitely coming back! I haven't been to Mangé, my number one tonkatsu place for a while, so I want to go there and compare it with this place.

During Golden Week, we visited the restaurant around 2 PM and had to wait for about an hour with less than 10 people ahead of us. They efficiently took orders while we waited, but for some reason, the line didn't move quickly, causing slow turnover. I ordered the Special Black Pork Loin Cutlet Lunch, which was cooked perfectly and delicious. I was satisfied with the taste and price.

I visited Hakanosu I no Kawazu, a famous restaurant located about an 8-minute walk from JR Hakozaki Station. Despite the rain, there were already about 6 people waiting in line when I arrived. After a 15-minute wait, I was able to enter the restaurant. I ordered the Top Sirloin Cutlet Lunch (priced at 1300 yen). The cutlet was quite substantial, and I tried it with three recommended sauces: 1) lemon salt, 2) wasabi soy sauce, and 3) ground sesame sauce. The ground sesame sauce was definitely the most delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Now that travel restrictions have been lifted, there are a lot of foreigners visiting, so waiting times are to be expected. The attraction is the low prices. They used high-quality meat, but the portion of rice was small, and it wasn't worth waiting in line for. The sauce was lacking in flavor.

This popular tonkatsu specialty restaurant has a line forming before it even opens. They use lard to fry the tonkatsu, resulting in a crispy and light coating, while the low-temperature frying method locks in the juiciness of the high-quality meat. You can enjoy professional tonkatsu at a reasonable price. I waited for about an hour to get a seat at the 8-seat counter. I ordered the "Top Loin Cutlet Lunch" for 1,300 yen and the "Top Fillet Cutlet Lunch" for 1,300 yen. I also added the famous "Shrimp Fry" for 400 yen. The lunch sets come with rice, side dishes, miso soup, and pickles. You can get free refills of rice, miso soup, and cabbage, which is a nice touch. The "Top Loin Cutlet Lunch" for 1,300 yen had a thicker cutlet than expected. The beautiful pink meat was tender and juicy, cooked to perfection. They provide wasabi, salt, and lemon, so you can enjoy it with lemon salt. They also have homemade sauce, sweet soy sauce, mustard, and dressing on the table. The "Top Fillet Cutlet Lunch" for 1,300 yen had a perfect cooking method that preserved the texture of the fillet. The high-quality pork allowed you to fully enjoy the richness and sweetness of the meat. The large shrimp fry came with tartar sauce, but I tried it first with salt to enjoy the crispy texture. Even just the shrimp fry alone could attract a crowd. Since it's such a popular place, be prepared to wait in line if you plan to visit.

I had to wait about 15 minutes because the restaurant was full. I ordered the pork cutlet with an additional shrimp fry. The pork cutlet had just the right amount of fat and sweetness, and I was very satisfied! The shrimp fry had a firm texture and went perfectly with the tartar sauce! Rice, cabbage, and miso soup were free for refills. It's no wonder this place is popular, I had delicious tonkatsu! I left feeling completely satisfied.

I visited the restaurant on a Sunday evening when it opened at 5:30 pm. It was a short trip of about 30 minutes by bus and on foot from Hakata Station. When I arrived, the restaurant was already full, so I had to wait for about 45 minutes to be seated for the second round. I ordered the Pork Loin Cutlet (150g) and the Large Shrimp Cutlet. The meat was thick but very tender, easy to chew. The breading was crispy. I could enjoy three different ways of eating it with lemon salt, wasabi soy sauce, and sesame tonkatsu sauce. The lemon salt was light and delicious. The most fresh and tasty way, in my opinion, was with the wasabi soy sauce. I topped the cutlet generously with wasabi and added a few drops of soy sauce before eating. It was my first time trying tonkatsu with soy sauce, and it was really delicious. I wish there was more sesame as the amount provided was small, and I couldn't ask for a refill, so it would have been nice to have more sesame or have it as much as we wanted. However, I was still satisfied with the other two ways of eating it. The Large Shrimp was smaller compared to other places, and it had a slight taste of freshness or sea flavor with each bite. The tartar sauce served with it had large chunks and a good taste. Since the kitchen is visible, you can feel the tension in the kitchen, making it hard to have a conversation with your companions. I thought that if I could relax and enjoy the meal more, I would want to go back again.

I arrived at this small restaurant after walking through a residential area from Hakozaki Station. With only 8 seats at the counter, I had to wait for a while due to the rotation system, but the satisfaction of the taste increased during that waiting time. I was first surprised by the deliciousness of the miso soup broth, and the quality and cooking of the pork cutlet were excellent, exceeding my expectations. It was a truly satisfying restaurant. Brand: Premium Black Pork Cooking method: Fox color Miso soup: Rich umami flavor dressing: Green shiso salt: Truffle salt, wasabi soy sauce, lemon salt Pickles: Cabbage Tea: Barley tea Table: Counter with 8 seats Order: Premium Black Pork Fillet Cutlet Meal Oil: Olive oil dip

I arrived at the restaurant around 11:40 and there were about 15 people waiting in line. I waited for about an hour before entering. While waiting in line, they confirmed orders starting from the first 8 people (probably because there are 8 seats), and then the next 8 people were just counted. I ordered the special premium black pork loin cutlet lunch set with an additional item of shrimp fry. (They were preparing inside while we were waiting, so we didn't have to wait long to be served after being seated.) I first tried it with lemon and salt, then with wasabi and soy sauce, and finally with ground sesame and tonkatsu sauce. Personally, I liked it best with lemon and salt. I plan to revisit and try the pork fillet cutlet next time.

Located near the Hakozaki 4-chome intersection in Higashi-ku, Fukuoka City, next to Box Town Hakozaki, a commercial facility with restaurants, supermarkets, and a gym, is a specialty pork cutlet shop. Established in 1947 in Otoarai-machi, Fukuoka Prefecture, the long-established butcher shop Iide Shoten has opened a new shop called "Iinokawazu" in July 2019, offering high-quality pork cutlets. The shop is known for its high-quality pork cutlets made with carefully selected pork brands such as "Haipo pork" from Onga-gun during lunchtime and "Saga Tenzan Kogen SPF pork" in the evening. The cutlets are coated with thin fresh bread crumbs and fried in pork lard to achieve a crispy texture. The shop is small with only 8 counter seats, creating a lively atmosphere in the kitchen. Customers can choose from various condiments such as lemon salt, wasabi soy sauce, and sesame sauce. The shop is popular despite its inconspicuous location, and there is often a line during lunchtime. The reviewer visited the shop for lunch and ordered the "Upper Loin Cutlet Lunch" which was served with shredded cabbage, rice, miso soup, and pickles. The freshly fried cutlet had a crispy and fragrant coating, and the reviewer enjoyed the meal.
