*About a 7-minute walk from Sangenjaya Station*Glass exterior with pink neon lights as a landmark*Various genres of menu based on Italian cuisine.*[Occasions to use] For couples, with a few friends, etc.*[Crowdedness] Entered during the peak time of 7:30 pm on a Saturday. It's bustling and new walk-ins without reservations are not accepted. After 9 pm, the crowd subsides, but being a late-night spot, customers start gathering again around 10 pm. Reservations are highly recommended!*Menu items ordered:*Ufumayo Potato Salad 649 yen → The combination of soft-boiled egg and tuna in potato salad is the best!*Raw Horse Mackerel Fry 528 yen → Achieving a rare fry with sashimi-grade horse mackerel!*Fried Eggplant with Uni Sauce 638 yen → The sauce surprised me with the presence of sea urchin flesh!*Yukimi Bolognese 1,078 yen → Comes with a performance of shaving Parmesan at your table. The food here is really delicious. That's the bottom line! The high quality means it may take a bit longer during busy times, but the wait is worth it for the satisfying taste. It's nice to drink on the terrace, but enjoying drinks inside while listening to music is also good depending on the season!

The potato salad here is perfect! The fried onions, bacon, and potatoes are a super match♡!!! And on top of that, there's a half-boiled seasoned egg that just catches your eye! The perfect balance of salt and flavors makes it hard to stop eating! The creamy texture is outstanding and the amount of creaminess is just right for the price! I was about to give up and go home because I couldn't find the restaurant, but I'm glad I finally made it!

The staff at the popular izakaya Neo Tokyo seemed to prioritize regular customers over new ones when we arrived around 8 pm on a weekday. We were left waiting for a few minutes as they engaged in conversation with the regulars. Even after we were finally seated, our first drinks took a while to arrive. It seemed like new customers were not valued at this place. Despite being lured in by the stylish exterior, we were disappointed by the lack of attention and even stopped taking photos for social media. We quickly decided to switch to our usual bar nearby, which was much more reliable. We probably won't be going back to Neo Tokyo again. I revisited this place. I always appreciate the early opening hours and it's a convenient spot for me. I had the famous skewered hormone and horse mackerel fry for a light drink. The beer glass was stylish! I noticed that the shops on Chazawa Street are popular gathering spots for Sangenjaya residents. Thank you for the meal.

◆Excellent Dish: Overflowing Cheese Beef Tongue Tomato Stew Skewer Hormone and Fresh Raw Horse Mackerel Fry, among other menu items, indicate that this is a casual and delicious eatery. One iconic dish that represents their cuisine is the overflowing cheese beef tongue tomato stew. Hot beef tongue stew topped with plenty of gooey cheese, sprinkled with black pepper and drizzled with olive oil. The combination of the tender beef tongue's umami flavor and the creamy cheese is a punchy one, but the tomato sauce's slight acidity adds a nice touch, while the black pepper and olive oil provide a surprising contrast that prevents the dish from becoming too heavy. This modern izakaya offers both instinctive food and natural wine, making it a delightful place to dine.
◆Menu for this Visit:
Fresh Zasai Skewers
Hormone Skewers with Baguette
Fresh Raw Horse Mackerel Fry
Overflowing Cheese Beef Tongue Tomato Stew
Nori Salt Corn Tempura
Seafood Chive Pancake
Hakata Specialty Steamed Gyoza + 1 Beer, 1 bottle of red wine (for 2 people) - 6500 yen per person
◆How to Enjoy this Restaurant:
<Profile>
A neo-tavern with a mix of Chinese and street flavors.
<Ordering>
Choose from beer starting at 580 yen, highballs starting at 500 yen, sake starting at 1000 yen per cup, shochu starting at 600 yen, wine by the glass starting at 700 yen, and bottles starting at 3800 yen.
<Ambiance>
The retro tiles and exposed light bulbs contrast with the neon lights, Chinese-style dishes, chopsticks, and the street art and skateboards collected by the former pro skateboarder, Iwasaki, adding a chaotic and street-like atmosphere to the restaurant. The friendly and frank service from the staff adds to the overall pleasant experience.

Although the trendy and stylish izakaya had a modern feel, the drinks were surprisingly delicious. The food was tasty too, but it seemed more focused on creativity, innovation, and presentation rather than skill or seasoning. If you go with the mindset of it being a bar first, you'll likely be satisfied with the variety and flavors of the dishes. Overall, I had a very enjoyable time.

On Sunday before 7 pm, about 90% of the customers were inside the store. There are around 10-15 seats at the counter, 3 two-person tables, and standing tables outside. The Craft Cola Sour Punch has a mild flavor with a crafty touch. The sesame amberjack, made with Kochi-produced amberjack topped with fatty sesame sauce, is very delicious. The creamy egg yolk and hormone skewers, a mix of various hormones grilled together, are tasty. The raw tuna belly fry with tartar sauce is delicious with soy sauce. The Basque cheesecake is well-baked and tasty.

Third tea drink, fourth stop!! Saturday 18:00. Visited with a reservation for 3 people on the same day. The interior had a neo vibe, with only people in their 20s it seemed, at the counter.

They had a variety of interesting drinks. I think young women would like it. Also got stickers, but who is this braided-beard guy? haha Thanks for the meal! Total cost for 3 people: 9746 yen

While taking a walk, I was intrigued by Neotokyo's eye-catching exterior and decided to step inside! They had a variety of menu options, making it hard to choose... I think the must-try is the drool-worthy chicken! They also had a wide selection of beers, making it a fun place to dine! Thank you for the delicious meal!

The current trend is Neo-popular. It leans towards Western food, but also has some Japanese appetizers and sake that women would like. It's a great place for a date. The dishes and drinks are appealing, so you'll want to go back again. The service is not overly friendly, but it's okay.

I went to Neo Tokyo, a popular izakaya in Sangenjaya!! It was our first stop, so we ordered lightly! We had sesame amberjack, Hokkaido octopus and avocado, and fresh tuna fry. The fresh tuna fry was recommended, so we tried it out! It was delicious dipped in tartar sauce, but the Miyazaki soy sauce, which is on the sweeter side, made it even more tasty! The sesame amberjack was also delicious, with a nice texture. We also tried the "Niwano Uguisu" plum wine, which was refreshing with a strong plum flavor. The interior of the restaurant is lit up with neon lights, making it easy to spot. I recommend everyone to visit Neo Tokyo!

■Access: 6-minute walk from Sangenjaya Station on the Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line
■Visit: 3rd time
■Purpose: Second party with friends
■Overview: A neo-popular bar located along Chazawa Street in Sangenjaya. Originally the location of a Spanish restaurant called "LUZ" with the same parent company, this place was reopened on July 6, 2021. It is a popular spot known for its pub-style snacks incorporating Western essence, as well as a wide range of drinks such as craft beer and natural wine.
■Menu: The menu offers a wide range of dishes from Japanese to Western cuisine, all with bold flavors that make them perfect for pairing with drinks. The dishes we had on this day included:
- Fig butter
- Toro-taku Korean seaweed
- Oysters and clams Aglio e Olio with Karasumi
- Pour-over mapo tofu
- Hoppy set white
■Impressions: A must-order here is the Oysters and clams Aglio e Olio with Karasumi. As the name suggests, this dish features a rich fish and shellfish Aglio e Olio with the added flavor of Karasumi. The intense umami of the seafood makes it addictive and pairs perfectly with drinks. The pour-over mapo tofu is another unforgettable dish with a perfect balance of umami, spiciness, and numbing sensation. The neon-lit interior is also a recommended feature. It's a trendy spot in Sangenjaya worth checking out. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant "LUZ," known for its Spanish cuisine and natural wines, has evolved into a new concept. Moving beyond just change, the restaurant has continued to evolve into "Daisyu Sakaba Neotokyo." The initial impression is that it has become very approachable. As a big fan of LUZ, I was confident that the new concept would also be a great restaurant. The main reason for this confidence was the positive attitude towards adapting to the needs of the community and moving forward, even in the challenging times faced by the food industry. The new concept, targeting the younger crowd in Sangenjaya, has been a huge success, with the restaurant always packed. Despite the shift towards more casual dining and a younger clientele, the quality of food and drink remains high, with a touch of Fukuoka's culinary delights. The atmosphere exudes a positive and trendy vibe, making it a welcoming space for young people. The reviewer recommends trying the homemade creamy tofu, hormone skewers, octopus and avocado dish, and the fresh horse mackerel fry, which left a lasting impression.

I went to Neotokyo for the second bar. The interior has a counter that can seat about 10 people and two large tables, providing plenty of space. The blue tiles around the kitchen are stylish, and the mix of various cultures creates a unique atmosphere that showcases the owner's sense of style. The menu was surprising, offering a wide range of options from Italian, Spanish, to grilled dumplings, all of which sounded appetizing. I ordered white Hoppy and the garlic oil pasta with oysters, clams, and mentaiko. The pasta had a chewy texture with the umami flavor of the seafood mixing well, and the mentaiko added a nice touch. I definitely want to come back even if it's just for the food. The ambiance of the restaurant and the friendly staff who recommend dishes based on your preferences make it a comfortable place to be. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal.

Popular Izakaya Neo Tokyo @ Sangenjaya
Visited a place I was curious about ✌️ Always crowded and popular! It's a stylish place with neon lights, so you can tell right away from the outside ⚡️⚡️ It was our second stop, and there were so many things I wanted to eat, but I couldn't eat them all, which I regret ▪️Raw horse mackerel fry ▪️Burrata cheese with seasonal fruits chosen ✌️ The sesame amberjack was sold out, so I'll have to get revenge next time! They have a wide variety of drinks, and the manager, who is from Fukuoka, had a lot of Fukuoka dishes, which made me happy ~

I had been curious about this trendy bar for a while! It's a stylish izakaya with delicious food! It's no wonder it's popular. The combination of style and deliciousness is perfect for young people! I arrived at the restaurant just before 6:00 and made a reservation, so I was able to get in, but without a reservation, it might be difficult to get a table! Reservations are a must! I ordered all the specialties. - Hormone skewers, 200 yen each: The simmering offal on skewers at the counter looked delicious. The skewers seemed to have various types of offal. The sauce was also delicious, and the offal was tender and tasty! I enjoyed it with some bread and wanted more! - Toro Taku with Korean seaweed, 680 yen: This was so delicious! The crunchy pickled radish, green onion, and tuna were amazing. You'll definitely get hooked on this dish. - Homemade semi-dried tomatoes, 380 yen: This was too stylish! I ordered it as a side dish, and it was delicious! - Hakata specialty boiled dumplings, 900 yen: These were also delicious. I finished the soup as well. You can add champon noodles for an additional 400 yen, but I wanted a different dish for my last course, so I resisted. - Raw toro horse mackerel fry, 480 yen per piece: This was truly amazing! The mackerel was rare and fried. A new texture! The homemade tartar sauce was also delicious. The level of the food at this restaurant is really high. - Fig butter, 580 yen: This was a hidden gem! It's like a fig version of raisin butter, and it's delicious! Perfect for drinking with alcohol! - Neo Tokyo garlic shrimp, 780 yen - Uni carbonara udon, a long-awaited dish! This was unbelievably delicious! The drinks were all tasty, the food was all delicious, and the staff were all wonderful, so I ended up drinking too much and my memory of the end is fuzzy. I found a wonderful restaurant! I will definitely go back! Visit rating on Tabelog: 3.07

I was hungry so I went at 4 pm and spent about 7000 yen for two people! We had sesame yellowtail, hormone skewers, mackerel potato salad, and sea urchin bonara udon. The sesame yellowtail was a bit pricey, but delicious (I wanted to eat twice as much). I liked the mackerel potato salad a lot, and the sea urchin bonara was also good!

During the state of emergency, I visited this place because they were serving alcohol. They had only been open for about a week, and everyone passing by seemed curious. The main seating area was at the counter, with a few table seats. It took quite a while from making a reservation to being handed a wet towel and taking the first order. I ordered some elaborate original drinks, so it took a while for the drinks to arrive as well. After toasting, I placed a big order for food. Perhaps because they had just opened, the service was quite slow overall. I started with the Fresh Pickled Vegetables for 380 yen, which arrived after a considerable wait. Then, I tried the Fig Butter for 580 yen, which was more like a paste than butter and tasted as expected. The President's Mackerel Potato Salad for 580 yen had eggs on top, which was a nice touch. The Cod and Fresh Mushroom Salad for 880 yen was good, especially the fresh mushrooms. The Hormone Skewer for 200 yen was served from a pot similar to an oden pot, and the taste was average. The Fresh Raw Horse Mackerel Fry for 480 yen was their specialty, and it was fluffy and delicious with homemade tartar sauce. I don't usually go for mackerel fry, so I can't compare it, but it was good. The Crushed Strawberry Sour for 750 yen had a lot of strawberries on top, but the taste was lacking in strawberry flavor. The Mango Sour had a strong mango taste and was delicious. The staff, especially the young man, seemed a bit assertive, and the service was a bit slow. The wine selection was good, but the portions were a bit small for the price. The dishes I initially ordered hadn't arrived by the time I asked for the bill to leave. The interior and atmosphere seemed to attract more female customers, but the prices were a bit high despite being labeled as a popular izakaya. It might be a good place for casual drinking or a date. Good luck to them.
