When I saw the large macarons at the Duca's L'Atelier de Chocolat in the basement of Nihonbashi Takashimaya, I found out that they are the traditional size. I bought a box of 3 macarons (yuzu, raspberry, caramel) for 2269 yen. The packaging is super cute. I tried the caramel flavor, it was rich and delicious.

Project H - A world of self-satisfaction (Only for those who understand) A certain idol's mother recommended a chocolate brand in a live stream, saying it was delicious. I thought it was expensive, but I received a department store gift certificate, so I decided to splurge. My watch broke, and even though I could have just thrown it away, I decided to get it repaired since it was a gift. There was a shop in Ginza that offered same-day repairs, so I headed there. I decided to walk from Tokyo Station, and my first stop was here. As expected of Takashimaya, the high-end chocolate brand, the staff were stylish and elegant. It took courage to peek into the showcase. The prices of the chocolates were unbelievable. I managed to find the cheapest option and bought it. They even added a cooling pack. It was expensive for just three pieces in a box, over 500 yen per piece. I thought it would be cube-shaped, but it was thin, and I felt like "Is this it?" It was very rich in cocoa. I can't express my thoughts beyond that. This is something you buy as a gift or as a treat for yourself. I prefer Meiji milk chocolate.

Recommended by a friend who loves chocolate, I purchased chocolates at the Valentine's event at Kobe Daimaru. I heard that Lucchocolat Alain Ducasse, which will celebrate its 5th anniversary in Japan in 2023, is releasing Valentine's limited edition chocolates, so I bought them. I also tried some other types of chocolates, and they were delicious, so I decided to purchase them. The Valentine's limited edition chocolates had a sweet and sour orange flavor and a crunchy texture of ganache, which was delicious. I don't usually buy them, but during Valentine's season, it's a luxurious treat for myself.

A chocolate specialty store by the French master Alain Ducasse. They select cocoa beans from around the world and use traditional methods to produce their chocolates in workshops in Paris and Tokyo. LE CHOCOLAT ALAIN DUCASSE offers a set of six unique baked goods exclusive to Japan, including financiers, brownies, sablé cookies, cookies, biscuit, and cake, each showcasing different distinctive flavors of cocoa beans. I especially enjoyed the crispy texture of the Raisin and Chocolate Chip Cookie, which was packed with plenty of raisins and chocolate chips. I look forward to trying their Bonbon Chocolat next time.

It's winter, so I really crave some delicious chocolate or fresh cream. I wandered around the underground food market with sweets on my mind. I was hoping to find a cake with fresh cream, but the one I had in mind was sold out, so I ended up being drawn to this showcase. After asking about various options, I chose a ganache chocolate. Although I was told about Christmas limited edition products, I preferred the classic one as I have a preference for Madagascar cocoa. In the end, I made a successful choice with Madagascar 75%, which had a red fruit acidity. I also tried Peru 75%, which had a floral and cherry flavor, and Java 45%, which had a smoky aroma and a slight bitterness. However, the one I enjoyed the most was the one with a mellow chocolate flavor with a hint of black sugar. This high-quality chocolate with complex flavors is my favorite. I love trying out different chocolates, and although I can't remember where I got the information from, I recall the renowned name of Alain Ducasse. I noticed this place while walking through the underground food market at Takashimaya department store, and I want to visit again after a long time. Chocolates at department stores are usually in the higher price range, around 4000 yen for 150g, but they are worth it for a special treat.

I received a stylish gift of Alain Ducasse chocolate with nuts. The chocolate is not very sweet, with a strong cocoa acidity. Personally, I prefer bitterness over acidity in chocolate, but the abundance of nuts may balance out the acidity. It has an elegant taste.

I stopped by to buy a souvenir for my home a little before 4 pm on Saturday. It is a takeout shop for chocolates by Mr. Alain Ducasse, with three locations in Tokyo (Nihonbashi, Roppongi, Takashimaya). The menu includes a set of 3 large chocolate macarons (Peru Noir, Madagascar Lait, Praline Noisette) for 1,944 yen including tax. These macarons are three times the size of a regular one, with a generous amount of ganache filling. Each macaron offers a different flavor experience, such as the intense cocoa taste of Peru Noir, the vanilla-infused Madagascar Lait, and the homemade praline with Italian hazelnuts. While it's fun to compare the textures and flavors, all three options are very sweet, so individual preferences may vary.

I received high-quality chocolates for White Day. They are delicious - when you close your eyes, it feels like you're in Paris. I like fruity flavors with acidity like raspberry and lime. I recently noticed a chocolate shop in the basement food section of Takashimaya, a department store I visit often but had never stopped by before. I decided to purchase some chocolates from there, even though I know that chocolates in department stores tend to be on the pricier side, usually around 4000 yen for 150g. I see chocolates as a luxury treat and decided to try the coconut ganache chocolate that caught my eye. The ganache was smooth and rich, with a noticeable coconut flavor. The chocolates had a bitter taste, which I enjoyed. Overall, I felt that the quality of the chocolates was exceptional, a true masterpiece of Alain Ducasse. However, considering the price, I felt that I would only repurchase if the price was more reasonable. I hope to discover more unique chocolates on my next visit to the store.

Alan Ducasse's chocolate brand. I first saw it at a department store event. I was interested in Alan Ducasse's chocolate. According to the box of 4 gourmet ganache chocolates, there are 4 flavors: lime, raspberry, caramel, and tonka bean. I thought lime and raspberry would both be acidic, but lime had a distinctive bitterness, while raspberry had a strong aroma and acidity, almost like eating raspberries directly. The caramel was delicious and had a lingering taste. The tonka bean had a unique comforting feeling, different from red beans or flower beans in Japanese sweets. The small tablet box contained 3 types: Madagascar 75%, Peru 75%, and Java 45%. The milk chocolate Java with 45% cocoa was incredibly rich despite the lower cocoa content. Peru 75% had a bitter taste with a cocoa aroma and a hint of sweetness. Madagascar 75% had a stereotypical chocolate scent with a fruity acidity, reminiscent of red fruits.

Valentine's Day in 2021 was spent at Takashimaya. I treated myself to a selection of baked goods and Jack Jeanne. Takashimaya's sense of style is the best! Baked goods seem more cost-effective than chocolates these days. (Chocolates are getting expensive, aren't they?) The raisin cookies are dense and have a texture similar to caramel. I loved them. Next time, I want to try buying various items individually.

I purchased some chocolates from Alain Ducasse at Nihonbashi Takashimaya. I knew they had a workshop and salon nearby, but I didn't realize they also had a store inside Takashimaya. The packaging is simple, which may be a nod to their environmental efforts. The days of overly expensive packaging for luxury chocolates may be behind us. Now, onto the chocolates. There were four bonbons: Lime, Caramel, Raspberry, and Tonka Bean. The Lime flavor was particularly memorable with its fresh lime juice ganache. And the Tonka Bean was incredibly aromatic, prompting me to look up what it was. Apparently, it's a rare and aromatic ingredient used in perfumes and sweets. The chocolates were delicious, as expected from Alain Ducasse. Thank you for the treat!

Cru Deception 75% from Venezuela, bought for about 2500 yen. I tried a few samples and the more expensive one was definitely the most delicious. Lately, I've only been having high-cacao chocolate bars, so I was happy to find this while wandering around the basement of Takashimaya. The bitterness of the cacao is a bit mild, with a crispy texture. However, the chocolate bar is quite thick, making it a bit difficult to break with hands. There were many other varieties available, so I look forward to trying more little by little.
