Today is Christmas Eve, and I finished a big deal in the morning, so I felt relieved and had lunch at my favorite sushi restaurant "Shingen" in Takaido. It had been closed during the state of emergency last year and this year, so it was my first visit in about a year and a half, but the lunch menu and prices had not changed. When you enter through the curtain and take off your shoes at the entrance, you enter the back room (the shop). The small shop has a counter seat and two tables, and it is run by a husband and wife. It was nice that the owner remembered me when I sat at the counter seat! I had always eaten "chirashi" before, so this time I ordered "nigiri" for the first time. The hostess lined up a small dish with pickled ginger and a plate, and at the right time, she brought out a plate with "nigiri" on it. There were two pieces of tuna, squid, scallop, salmon, shrimp, kampyo roll, tamagoyaki, and octopus, eight varieties in total. The balance of sushi rice and toppings was good, and it was very delicious. The classic kampyo roll of Edomae sushi was especially delicious. The lightly seasoned and elegant miso soup was to my liking. The dessert after the meal was ice cream with fruit pulp on top. I became a fan of this restaurant after eating their "chirashi," but the "nigiri" was also delicious. Next time, I want to challenge the "anago donburi."

Located about a 5-minute walk south from Fujimigaoka Station on the Inokashira Line, in a quiet residential area, there is a stylish apartment building with a shop on the first floor. When I visited in mid-March, the shop had been closed recently, possibly due to the impact of the novel coronavirus. It is run by a friendly couple. I visited for the first time about 2 and a half months ago and fell in love with the cozy atmosphere and delicious sushi. Just like last time, I ordered the "chirashi" in a large portion. The sashimi and chirashi sushi are served separately, with miso soup and dessert included in the set. The lunch sushi at such an affordable price with such beautiful presentation and quality is hard to beat! Once again, I was very satisfied with the excellent value lunch. I would love to visit this sushi restaurant at night sometime and enjoy a leisurely meal with some drinks.
