Near my old workplace. I heard that a new station called Toranomon Hills Station was recently built, so I decided to get off there on a whim. Oh well (ΦωΦ)フフ I heard that one of my favorite restaurants from the past had opened a new branch, but unfortunately, it was closed due to the current situation. So, I had no choice but to visit☆ It's been a long time! I sat at the counter as soon as I entered! It was fun to look at the menu and be indecisive. I started with a Kishu plum sour! The appetizer was also luxurious. The first dish was chilled tomatoes with an unexpected abundance of sea grapes, creating a texture paradise♪ I heard that the whale assortment could be ordered as a single serving, so I ordered it. It was reasonably priced and I was grateful. I quickly switched to the sake Suikei. Come to think of it, I don't have many memories of eating whale even before the relocation haha. But everything was delicious! However, my special favorite was the whale chirashi♡ Ah, it goes well with sake... I'm moving on. The fresh sea urchin is a drink. What is it? I ordered it. → I gulped down a shot of sea urchin! I want to pair it with strong alcohol (〃ω〃)イヤン In the end, it was Suikei→Suikei haha. I also wanted to eat tempura, so I ended with a white shrimp tempura. I ate a little too much; this is a great restaurant♪ Next time, I definitely want to visit the whale room. Thank you for the feast. I love it!

This is a review of "Kujira no Futa" located at 2-14-7 Nishi-Shimbashi, Minato-ku, Tokyo. They served whale red meat sashimi with homemade sauce, wasabi, and grated ginger. The restaurant is popular and offers a 150-minute all-you-can-drink course for 6000 yen. The menu includes beer, highball, sour, shochu, plum wine, and 5 types of sake. The food included appetizers, sashimi, seasonal fish dish, whale tripe sashimi, fried whale red meat, and ochazuke as a finale. Overall, the reviewer enjoyed the fresh and delicious food, along with the sake, in a pleasant atmosphere with friends.

I found a whale restaurant while walking in Shinbashi. I couldn't believe there was a place like this near where I live. Feeling hungry, I decided to go there around 1 PM on a weekday. I had my eyes set on the whale karaage set meal. When I looked at the menu, I noticed that the sashimi was a great deal during lunchtime. I couldn't resist and ordered extra red meat sashimi. The red meat sashimi arrived quickly, and to my surprise, it was incredibly thick. I didn't want to finish it because it was so thick. It was tender and paired well with ginger and wasabi. It felt like I was eating a thick piece of yakiniku harami. The karaage came with six pieces, generously coated with a flavorful marinade, healthier than chicken karaage but still meaty. I added a little bit of soy sauce from the table, which enhanced the flavor. You can have unlimited rice refills. Is it okay to eat something this delicious for lunch? I feel a sense of guilt for enjoying it so much. Shinbashi, Toranomon lunch is definitely a must-visit here. I finally found a great restaurant.

I went because I wanted to eat whale tempura set meal, and it was delicious as I expected. On my second visit, I tried whale meat mabushi, and once again confirmed the deliciousness of whale meat. Tempura was something that made me happy when it was served in school meals, as I am from the older generation. There are various opinions about eating whale, but I thought it is good to eat it without leaving any behind while being grateful for the life that was given. (Visited again at night on 9/5) When I went to eat lunch, I saw raw whale sashimi on the wall of the restaurant. When I asked the staff, they said it was until yesterday, but there was still some tail meat left, so of course, I went. It's an event that happens about once a year, and the flavor of the unfrozen whale meat increases when paired with Japanese sake. The return of the bonito was also delicious. I was very satisfied with the sake, and the "Yamakawa Mitsuo" recommended by the friendly male staff was delicious. I also enjoyed whale tripe, corn tempura, and Me-hikari fried chicken. The young and efficient staff members and chefs are great. I also noticed how meticulous the chef's work was. I thought they were carefully selecting the fish and cooking it with care, which made me happy. They serve proper dishes, so I think the prices are quite reasonable. As I was leaving, the female staff casually mentioned something about the next visit. There is no doubt that I will come back again, haha.

I was curious about trying whale dishes at this restaurant but never got around to it. Finally decided to visit and ordered the whale red meat tempura set meal (1000 yen). Whale meat can become smelly if not properly processed, so I usually avoid it in Tokyo, but decided to try the tempura here. After the first bite, I was surprised to find that there was no smell at all, and the meat was chewy and flavorful. The tempura batter was crispy and delicious. I felt confident in the quality of the whale meat served here. They also had whale meat hitsumabushi, which I would like to try next time. Additionally, they had a first-time option of bonito sashimi set meal (1000 yen) today. It's rare to find sashimi set meals, so I decided that this would be a good place to come when craving fish.

I went out for lunch with my colleagues! I ordered whale meat sashimi - I thought it would be minced like soboro, but it was served raw. I didn't like the appearance, but I could eat it. I wish there was a photo on the menu... The price was 1000 yen. PayPay is accepted.

Whale meat seasoning 1200 yen PAYPAY payment. Visited around 12 o'clock on a weekday. This area seems to have many companies, as there were long lines at nearby soba shops. This restaurant was also almost full, but luckily there was one empty seat at the counter and I was able to get in without waiting. It was rare to have raw whale meat like yukhoe, and it was easier to eat than I had imagined, fresh and delicious. The daily special was the whale tongue, which was tender and tasty. The side soup was also to my liking. I want to go back again.

I visited this restaurant in Shinbashi because I was intrigued by its concept. I went on a Friday night and the place was quite crowded with salarymen. It seems like making a reservation for the weekend would be a good idea. I ordered whale meat, both lean and fatty cuts. I chose a salt sauce because I wanted something refreshing, but it turned out to be a bit oily with lots of sesame oil. The sauce tasted like a yakiniku sauce. I haven't had whale meat much before, but it had a light taste similar to horse meat, healthy and delicious. As it's a whale meat restaurant, I also tried the whale sake. ✌️

We went to Whale's Stomach for a welcome party for new members. We chose a course for 7400 yen with a 2.5-hour all-you-can-drink option, including draft beer and 5 types of premium Japanese sake. We started with whale red meat and tail meat. The whale has a slight unique smell but no toughness and is delicious. The tail meat melts in your mouth like A5 Wagyu beef and is sweet and delicious. The sashimi platter included tuna, sea bream, amberjack, salmon, and boiled octopus. The tuna was aged for a few days, giving it a deep flavor. The boiled octopus had a good texture and freshness, with a sweet taste. Next, we had whale stomach and steak. The stomach was rich in flavor and went well with beer, especially with sesame and green onion salt. The steak was also delicious. We finished with a rice dish. This restaurant, which specializes in whale dishes, offers delicious whale meat and is a great place to visit again.

Located in Nishi-Shimbashi, this seafood and Japanese cuisine restaurant lives up to its name with a variety of whale meat dishes on the menu. The lunch menu changes seasonally, featuring fresh fish. The staff, especially the elderly gentleman, is always attentive. I ordered the grilled salted horse mackerel and sashimi set, with the horse mackerel being large and satisfying. The seaweed soup had seaweed, sesame seeds, and three pieces of rolled wheat gluten. The wheat gluten was a nice touch.

I visited this restaurant alone on a regular day. The fish here is always delicious no matter what you order. It feels like having lunch while at work. On this day, I ordered the seasonal bonito sashimi. The thick bonito slices are delicious, and the generous amount of condiments and sauce stimulates the appetite. The side dishes and pickles are also a nice touch. Finally, a soup with a rich broth to finish the meal. This is a restaurant I want to visit again and again!

We visited this restaurant for lunch with three people. The freshness of the fish here is outstanding. When you want to eat delicious fish, this is the place to go without hesitation. While whale and seafood hitsumabushi are popular choices, the grilled fish and sashimi vary depending on the season and availability. I can't remember the name of the fish, but it was a very large grilled fish. The flesh was tender and satisfying, it was excellent. I will definitely go again!

A restaurant in Nishi-Shimbashi that serves delicious fish and whale dishes. For lunch, they offer a variety of seasonal fish dishes centered around whale meat. This time, I had the yellowtail shabu-shabu. The soup, which was like a wakame seaweed soup, also had rolled wheat gluten in it which was a nice touch. The wheat gluten was delicious.

I visited with two friends because one of them had been wanting to eat whale for a long time. The place was packed with salarymen. There are various seating options like table, counter, and tatami. Here are some highlights from our order: Three different cuts of whale red meat. Each cut had a different taste, with a slight gamey flavor. It's similar to beef but also different, maybe closer to horse meat. It's hard to describe, but it was delicious. Three types of whale hormone. I believe it was tongue, stomach, and small intestine. These had a stronger gamey flavor compared to the red meat. It's like the taste of a wild animal, not something that has been bred for taste. Honestly, it's a menu that might divide opinions. We also tried the whale jaw meat, which had a good amount of fat and was very tasty. They have a good selection of sake as well. Overall, we enjoyed the whale dishes and other items on the menu, and we would like to visit again.

I made a reservation for a course with all-you-can-drink for 6,000 yen because they serve whale meat. The drinks included sake and jabara sour, which made me satisfied. The course started with appetizers, sashimi, grilled sardines, whale sashimi, and fried chicken, all of which were delicious. I would like to come back again. Just be careful not to mistakenly go to Hanare instead.

Whale Aged Red Meat Tatsuta-age for 1000 yen. I chose the whale lunch at a whale specialty store. There were 5 lunch menu options, but this time I chose the whale tatsuta-age, which seemed to be like a school lunch. The tatsuta-age was small in size but came in a good quantity of 7-8 pieces, so it had a good volume. It tasted like school cafeteria tatsuta-age, but I didn't particularly feel nostalgic (laughs). Maybe the taste was too strong or the oil wasn't good, but after eating it, my mouth felt weird, like after eating potato chips. However, with 2 side dishes and miso soup, all for 1000 yen, it's a good deal. The rice portion was quite large, so I recommend smaller portions for women. This restaurant is suitable for both individuals and groups, with a convenient layout. It is also eligible for a 20% PayPay refund in Minato Ward. Recommended: ★★★☆☆ 3.8, Taste: ★★★☆☆ 3.5, Cost performance: ★★★★☆, Service: ★★★☆☆ 3.5, Atmosphere: ★★★☆☆ 3.8 (Spacious with tatami seating, great for large group lunches)

I never expected to find a whale specialty store in a place like this. Ever since commercial whaling started, I've always wanted to try it, so when I found one in Toranomon, I was thrilled. We started with a sashimi platter of three types of red meat and three types of whale hormone. It seemed like a portion for 3-4 people, but my friend and I managed to finish it easily. Surprisingly, whale meat, being a mammal, has a texture similar to beef, especially the whale belly which was delicious. We also tried the deep-fried whale, which was firm and tasty, reminding me of my elementary school lunches. We also enjoyed the whale blubber sashimi and whale tartare. Overall, it was a highly satisfying experience. We ended up switching to sake halfway through the meal. This is definitely a place I will come back to.

A restaurant that specializes in whale dishes. However, they also offer common seafood dishes like seafood hitsumabushi, grilled mackerel, and bonito, and surprisingly, half of the customers ordered something other than whale. I ordered whale meat hitsumabushi with an additional order of whale tail meat. The whale meat was surprisingly refreshing, with a sweet sauce that enhanced the flavor. I could feel the effort put into making whale meat delicious.

I made a reservation for the 90-minute all-you-can-eat course limited to Saturdays. The staff at the young restaurant were friendly and the atmosphere was nice. I started with a draft beer and tried all the items on the course: whale red meat sashimi (with sauce and green onion salt), whale bacon potato salad, red meat steak, aged red meat tempura, whale tendon stew, whale sushi, and whale soup (with real skin and natural broth). Everything was delicious and I was very satisfied. I then ordered more of the dishes I liked. I could order the same items again within reason. I also had some sake along the way. The staff were attentive and the quality of the food remained excellent throughout. This is a rare find these days. The restaurant was bustling and fully booked. Thank you for the feast. I will definitely come back next time and order a la carte.

During the Showa era, I visited the Fish and Sake Bar "Whale's Stomach" to enjoy a whale meat tempura set meal, which was cheaper than beef or pork and commonly served in school lunches. I ordered the aged red meat tempura set meal for 1000 yen. Squeezing lemon over the tempura, I found it to be tender and flavorful with ginger sauce, making it easy to eat with rice. The side dish of dried radish also complemented the rice well. I asked for a free extra serving of rice, which was served hot and fresh. I added a bit of mayonnaise on the tempura and enjoyed pickles and soup as a palate cleanser after eating to my heart's content. The restaurant will be featured on the late-night show "Nikai Me Dou Suru" on November 5th.

I added an all-you-can-drink option to the Saturday-only all-you-can-eat menu! They served 7 different whale meat dishes, and after finishing those, you can order other dishes from the all-you-can-eat menu. The whale red meat with green onion salt and sauce were both delicious! The red meat was thick and generously sized, filling your mouth with each bite. The sauce was light, and the green onion salt had just the right amount of saltiness, allowing you to fully enjoy the taste of whale meat. Some other delicious dishes included whale tempura, which was amazing! The collagen-rich parts and meat in the tempura matched perfectly. The whale and root vegetable clear soup was also outstanding, with everyone going back for seconds. The perfect balance of whale fat melting into the broth made the dashi itself delicious. I want to go back to the restaurant just to have this again! Eating so many whale dishes really allows you to appreciate the unique taste of whale meat. Despite it being all-you-can-eat, the portions were generous! Eating this much high-protein whale red meat is perfect for a post-workout meal. The service was so good that it's almost worrying in this time of high ingredient costs! I am extremely satisfied!! The all-you-can-drink option also had a lineup of Japanese sake, including Ho-oubito and Suigei, but my favorite was the Jabara sour. Made with citrus fruit to ward off evil spirits, it had a strong citrus peel and juice flavor. I definitely want to go back!!

In August 2022, my dinner was in Nishi-Shimbashi. I got off at Toranomon Hills Station on the Tokyo Metro, and walked out of exit B2 towards the "Nishi-Shimbashi Kōban-mae" intersection. The intended restaurant, "Osakaya Sunaba Honten," was temporarily closed, so I had to find an alternative. Across from Toranomon Hills Business Tower, on the second floor of a building, I found a restaurant called "Kujira no Ibukuro." This place is a specialty store for whale dishes and seafood, celebrating its 11th year in Nishi-Shimbashi. They are known for their "Saturday-only Whale Red Meat All-You-Can-Eat" offering. I had a great time at the counter, enjoying a whole lemon sour for 500 yen. I tried the whale short pasta for 330 yen, whale red bacon potato salad for 580 yen, a mix of three types of red meat sashimi for 1,480 yen, dashimaki tamago with nori for 680 yen, vinegared miso with whale tail for 880 yen, and a homemade ginger highball for 480 yen. I also tried the bluefish ryukyu for 780 yen. The total bill was 5,710 yen, and even though it was a substitute visit, it was a great experience following the footsteps of the TV show "Nikenme Dousuru? ~Tsumami no Hanashi~".
