ランチ向上委員会
This is a Japanese restaurant near Tsukishima Station. The restaurant is located a little off the main street of Tsukishima Monja Street. The exterior has a simple navy blue noren curtain, giving it an elegant feel and making it seem like a high-class Japanese restaurant. However, they have lunch menus displayed outside, with prices that even common people can afford, so you can enter with peace of mind. Inside the restaurant, there are 9 seats at the counter. While there are no acrylic dividers, they strictly enforce seating every other seat. There also seems to be seating on the second floor as there are stairs. The lunch menu includes five different set meals priced at 1,000 yen each. There are various side dishes included in the Kusao Bento, Buri Daikon, Hirenkatsu, Tempura, and Sukiyaki, offering a wide variety. They also have dishes made with domestic Wagyu beef, which are understandably priced higher at 3,400 yen. I tried the Sukiyaki set meal (1,000 yen). The finished dish, cooked by the staff, is served in an iron pot. Despite using Australian beef, the Sukiyaki is incredibly delicious due to the excellent cooking. The meat has the expected firmness of its origin, but the seasoning is superb, with a moderate sweetness, tasting like Sukiyaki made by a famous restaurant. The most delicious part is the shiitake mushrooms. They are cooked separately and added to the iron pot for final cooking, resulting in a rich flavor. There are also a variety of vegetables. The green part of the leek is used, giving it a sweet taste. Onions are included as well, cooked to retain their texture. Mizuna is also added and cooked in the pot, a cooking method typical of Kansai cuisine like Kyoto. The Shirataki noodles and tofu are also cooked to perfection, with a wonderful taste. The egg served with Sukiyaki is fresh and of high quality, with a rich yolk flavor. The side dish of simmered kombu and aburaage is also well-seasoned with a strong dashi flavor, a high-quality Japanese taste. The miso soup has a fish stock flavor from bonito flakes, a truly authentic taste. The pickles are a mix of homemade pickles and pickled radish, both delicious. After such a meal, you would want to eat a lot of rice, but extra or large servings come at an additional cost. The service is excellent, with the male owner giving precise instructions to other staff members, providing outstanding service overall. Additionally, this man engages in brief conversations with regular customers. Being recognized and spoken to by the owner of a famous restaurant in Tsukishima would make you feel like part of the Tsukishima regulars. The Sukiyaki set meal was on a different level compared to other restaurants in the area. However, the Kusao Bento is also popular, with quick service and a wide variety of dishes, attracting many customers. This is definitely a must-visit Japanese restaurant in Tsukishima.
