Yesterday, I returned to my hometown to finish some errands and ended up visiting a newly opened izakaya called "Izakaya Hidejirou" located just a 5-minute walk from my home. Despite passing by the restaurant many times since its opening on August 10th, it was my first visit. I planned to have a drink at home if the place was full when I peeked in at 7 pm, but luckily there were plenty of seats available at the counter. Contrary to the image of the popular Ebisu izakaya "Sake Hidejirou" where reservations are hard to come by, it seems that there are many times when seats are open. The pricing was 3800 yen for 60 minutes, 5400 yen for 90 minutes, and 7000 yen for 120 minutes for all-you-can-eat and drink, and I opted for the 90-minute course that day. The appetizer plate, tataki of horse mackerel, and ginger pork were served promptly, and the rest of the dishes were ordered through a QR code system to avoid the stress of calling a waiter. I ordered maguro butsu, gatsuponsu, tom yum shirataki, ohitashi, and grilled aburaage. Drinks were mostly ordered verbally. Sour drinks came with ice-filled glasses and mixers, and the Kinmiya shochu in a small pot placed on the counter was for self-service. I had Sapporo Black Label in a medium bottle, followed by cold sake Fudo, Fukuda Usunigor, and unexpectedly found Mukyu Tenon at room temperature. For hot sake, I had Kikusui One Cup served in a sake warmer, two cups of it. After finishing my drink, I unexpectedly ran into a drinking buddy coming down from the second floor and exchanged greetings. This izakaya focuses on providing a modern twist on traditional neighborhood pub fare with ample drinks and dishes. Being within a 5-minute walk, I'll definitely be visiting frequently. #Sangenchaya #Taishido #IzakayaHidejirou #Hidejirou #AllYouCanEatAndDrink #TimeLimit #Fudo #Fukuda #MukyuTenon #KikusuiOneCup
