The appearance was good! The presentation was neat, but the flavor may have been a bit light. I ordered the ramen with lots of fat. The noodles were smooth and didn't seem to match well with the fat, making the flavor feel light. The taste was delicious though, and the half-boiled egg was cooked perfectly. Overall, the appearance really increased my appetite!

Tachikawa Daishoken
There's no particular long line here, so you can eat at Daishoken whenever you want. Maybe it's because of this convenience that I realize I haven't been here for about a year without even noticing. I always think, "I can go anytime!" and end up not going.
I had the Char Siu Ramen for the first time in a while. It was simply delicious. The soup, noodles, char siu, and menma were all perfect. It's amazing that there are no flaws. You can go eat whenever you feel like it, just casually drop by. A Chinese-style ramen place where you can eat without worries on a stroll. I think that's a great ramen shop. Thank you for the meal.

I think it's a famous restaurant, but it was my first visit. I was struggling to find lunch options that day, and ended up at this famous restaurant. I had the "Morisoba" (900 yen) which had a glossy appearance on the noodles. The noodles were smooth and had a nice texture, it felt good in the throat. I think it's like the perfect form of tsukemen. It was delicious, thank you for the meal!

The wonton noodles had 4 or 5 large wontons, which satisfied my craving for wontons. The portion of noodles was surprisingly large with a substantial amount. The taste was delicious. My husband had the mori soba.

Daikokuken also offers various branches such as the Higashi-Ikebukuro style (mainly focusing on tsukemen) and the Eifukucho style (serving large bowls of traditional Chinese soba). This Daikokuken branch in Tachikawa was my first visit. They specialize in the Higashi-Ikebukuro style tsukemen, known as "morisoba." The basic morisoba comes with rice and the dipping sauce is not too thick, slightly watery. The dipping sauce has a strong seafood flavor with a hint of animal-based broth, balancing sweetness, sourness, and spiciness well. Personally, I wish the dipping sauce was a bit thicker. Towards the end, the dipping sauce may not cling to the smooth and chewy noodles as much. You can enjoy flavor variations with the black pepper, vinegar, and chili oil on the table. As a finishing touch, I like to make a rice soup by adding leftover soup to rice, which I have recently been enjoying. Personally, I find that Daikokuken's dipping sauce pairs exceptionally well with rice. Thank you for the meal today!

◼️Back Fat Ramen (860 yen)
⚫ Overall Impression:
Didn't quite satisfy the desire for back fat. I wanted something greasier, haha. It's a ramen with a subtle fat taste. But it was actually quite delicious! I liked the generous amount of noodles and soup! Good for when you want to focus on quantity and save money. Most people seem to be eating the large serving soba, so maybe that's their specialty, haha.
⚫ Noodles:
Slippery and smooth texture. Straight and slightly chewy.
⚫ Soup:
Super hot! The fat floats on top but it's not overwhelming. It feels like it's there for insulation. I prefer a bit more saltiness, but the soup is just right for slurping. It has a fishy taste similar to bonito broth.
⚫ Char Siu:
Tender texture with a hint of lean meat and a light layer of fat. Light and tasty. Not the melt-in-your-mouth type of texture, but still delicious.
◼️Interior:
Counter seating.
◼️Crowdedness:
Not too crowded.
◼️Service:
The service was great. There was a very friendly and beautiful woman.
◼️Solo Female Difficulty Level:
Easy.

-Tachikawa Daishoken-
Location: Tachikawa Station
Budget: Up to 1000 yen
Ordered Menu: Mori Soba
Returning from a business trip on a holiday Saturday, I found myself at Tachikawa Station without any particular plans. After some research, I decided to go to the reliable Daishoken. The restaurant had a counter with 15 seats and two 4-person tables at the back. It was around 2:30 PM on a Saturday and the place was almost full. I noticed that the top left corner of the ticket machine had Chuka Soba, so I wondered if that was the better choice, but I ended up ordering the Mori Soba as planned.
The Mori Soba had the typical appearance of Daishoken. The noodles were slightly soft, but that could vary from person to person. They were medium-thick straight noodles with a smooth texture. The soup was consistently delicious, slightly sweet with a hint of bonito flavor, possibly based on pork bones. I added some shichimi pepper and vinegar halfway through, which enhanced the flavor and brought out more of the Chuka Soba essence. The soup had a good depth even without the added soup base.
The two slices of chashu were delicious! They had a nice glaze and seasoning, and melted in the mouth with a gradual tenderness. I definitely plan to try the Chashu Ramen next time. The table condiments included vinegar, chili oil, garlic, shichimi pepper, and pepper.
In my personal opinion, I found this Daishoken to be tastier than the one in Yokohama, Ome Kaido, and Nakano. I have tried Daishoken in various locations, and this one ranks high on my list. Please note that they seem to only operate during the daytime for now, with a ramen shop taking over in the evening. I am curious about trying that as well. Thank you for the meal, I will definitely be back.

I was aware of this place but had never visited before. I bought a ticket for the special noon mori soba and entered the almost full restaurant. After a short wait, the dish was served. It had white, chewy medium-thick noodles with a simple dipping sauce and a traditional appearance. I tried the noodles first, and they were chewy with a good wheaty texture. The dipping sauce was a bit sweet and lacked a strong dashi flavor, which was disappointing. There was a huge amount of menma, perhaps because it was the special version? The chashu was buried underneath. The taste was a bit monotonous, and I started to get bored towards the end, so I used the table condiments to change the flavor. I managed to finish it, feeling full but not very satisfied... Thank you for the meal.

I felt like eating the Mori soba from the Higashi-Ikebukuro series, so I stopped by to try it. It had been a while since I had the sweet and sour soup, but it was well-balanced with a mild punch. Personally, I prefer a slightly saltier taste, but overall it was a satisfactory flavor. Thank you for the meal!

This was my first visit to Winds Tachikawa after buying a ticket. I stopped by shortly after opening at around 11 am. I ordered the Mori Soba. The tsukemen from Daishoken is really delicious and has a good portion size. I had a blissful bowl. I want to come back again.

I visited this place for the first time and ordered the Mori Soba for ¥830. The noodles were chewy and delicious! As for the soup, I had expected a stronger bonito flavor from Daishoken, but it wasn't that strong. It also wasn't too pork bone heavy, it was somewhere in between. Thank you for the meal!

I used to visit the main branch of Koganei Daikatsuya series often when commuting by car, but now that I take the train, I come to this branch instead. The taste is the same as the main branch, but there is less menma here. Ordering a plate of menma as a beer snack and adding more as needed is just right.

Today's lunch was at "Tachikawa Daikatsuken" in Tachikawa, where I am attending a training session. I ordered their recommended special Mori Soba. It took quite a while to be served due to the lunchtime rush, but when it arrived, I was impressed. The medium-thick straight noodles were smooth and chewy, and the portion was generous as always. On top of the noodles, there were green onions. The dipping broth was light yet flavorful, with a rich umami taste and a hint of sweetness, a traditional flavor. Inside the bowl, there were two slices of pork chashu, green onions, bamboo shoots, a half-boiled seasoned egg, seaweed, and fish cake. I particularly enjoyed the crunchy bamboo shoots. I mixed the soup with vinegar and finished every last drop. #TachikawaDaikatsuken #TachikawaCity #Tokyo #ramen #noodles #gourmet #tsukemen #noodlestagram #noodlelover #ramenlover #TokyoRamenMania #RamenClub #ramenaddict #ramenlover #ramenpatrol #japan #tokyo #japanesefood #ramen #ramennoodles

I was eager to eat udon in Tachikawa, but the restaurant was unexpectedly closed. Instead, I went to Osho-ken and tried their special dipping noodles. The noodles were soft and the flavor was simple, I finished it in no time. Truly, it had the authentic taste of dipping noodles.

"Tachikawa's 'Taishoken'. Upon entering the restaurant and looking at the ticket machine, the top option is Chinese soba. So, is this the Eifukucho style? But they also have mori soba. Well, there are quite a few options. As the weather is getting warmer, I decided to order the mori soba. The staff's service was cheerful, and the background music included nostalgic songs from Yuzu, out-of-season globe, and 90s JPOP, which slightly lifted my mood. The mori soba costs 780 yen. The bowl was piping hot, almost burning. It's nice. It's common sense to serve hot dishes hot, but not many places actually do it. The medium-thick straight noodles were generously served, with a chewy yet soft texture. The noodles had a refreshing wheat flavor. The soup had the typical Taishoken taste - light, slightly sweet, with a good balance of animal-based broth and bonito flavor. The saltiness was mild, and as a tsukemen, it was slightly lacking in depth. The chashu was not too tough or too thin. The chashu was surprisingly hot. It was a classic dish, with some variations, but still carrying on the taste of Mr. Yamagishi in Tachikawa. Thank you for the meal."

I came to Tachikawa. It is a large town in western Tokyo with nature, large commercial facilities, and shady drinking streets. The atmosphere where old and new coexist is nice. On this day, I had lunch around 3 o'clock. The options for open restaurants were limited, and I stumbled upon Tachikawa Daishoken. It's been a while since I had Daishoken. Daishoken is known for its delicious ramen, but I was in the mood for soba. I ordered soba with a seasoned egg. It takes a bit of time as the noodles are chilled once. I dipped the noodles and took a sip. The aroma of the Japanese-style broth comes through my nose. It's the familiar taste of Daishoken. To be honest, it wasn't incredibly delicious, but I thought it's not bad to have it once in a while.

This was my first visit and I had the pork belly ramen. It was lighter than it looked. I ordered the noodles firm, which I liked. The chashu had a good chew but was juicy. The bamboo shoots were average. I would like to visit again if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I had a payment in Tachikawa, so I decided to have lunch there. I walked around the south exit looking for a new encounter for about 20 minutes, but in the end, I didn't find any new encounters and ended up visiting "Tachikawa Daishoken" instead. They seem to recommend the Mori Soba, so I wonder if it's following the trend of the Daishoken in Higashi-Ikebukuro? The interior of the restaurant mainly consists of counter seats with two table seats. There are over 20 seats at the counter, with partitions separating each seat. Looking at the ticket machine near the entrance, I noticed that they also offer "Chuka Soba" in addition to the "Mori Soba," so this time I ordered the "Special Chuka Soba" for 950 yen. The counter seats are quite close together. As a left-handed person, I have to be mindful of the person sitting on my left (if I don't pay attention, our elbows might bump into each other). After a short wait, the noodles arrived. I tried the soup first, which was a double soup combining pork bone, chicken bone, and fish-based broth like bonito flakes, similar to the Ikebukuro-based Daishoken. The soup lacked a punch, so I adjusted the flavor to my liking with condiments like chili and vinegar on the table. The noodles were smooth and slippery, with a medium thickness. The char siu topping consisted of two thin slices of tender pork loin. Other toppings included green onions, naruto (fish cake), and a half-boiled egg with a gooey center. It's been a while since I've had a boiled egg, as nowadays it's all about the flavored eggs (laughs). I was pleased to find plenty of bamboo shoots as a topping. Although it was called the Special Chuka Soba, I didn't feel much of a special touch. Thank you for the meal.

JR Chuo Line, 3 minutes walk from Tachikawa Station. This is my third time visiting "Daishoken" this year, in January and February, although the locations were different - "Kawabe Daishoken" and "Ayase Daishoken". The restaurant opened just over a year ago, so the interior is new and clean. There are table seats and counter seats with acrylic partitions. When I entered, I didn't smell the scent of bonito or other Japanese dashi. The staff were a friendly young man and woman. They were playing nostalgic songs like Nanasaka Aikawa, Yutaka Ozaki, Akina Nakamori, and globe.
I ordered the "Mori Soba" for 780 yen. It came in the familiar bowl. I asked for the noodles to be firm. The noodles were the usual slippery medium-thick straight noodles with a good chewy texture and decent flavor. The hot dipping soup was slightly oily on the surface. The bonito flavor was subtle, and the animal-based broth was predominant. It had a good acidity and a rich soy sauce flavor. It came with naruto, nori, and menma. The char siu had a firm texture and was delicious. I slurped the noodles and dipped them in the soup alternately. The portion was generous, and I left feeling satisfied. I added plenty of shichimi pepper at the end. It was as delicious as I had hoped.

Most of the customers at Daishoken order tsukemen, but I have never tried it and always go for ramen! This time, I purchased a ticket for chashu ramen from the ticket machine. I sat at the counter seat with an acrylic board for COVID-19 prevention and handed over my ticket. Personally, I hope they keep the acrylic boards even after the pandemic is over. The soup is a blend of animal and seafood-based double soup with a rich flavor from carefully simmered bonito and other seafood. The combination of soy sauce adds depth and richness without being overwhelming. The chashu is tender and full of meaty goodness, very satisfying! The staff's service was also excellent. It was truly a delicious meal. Thank you. I will definitely be back for more!
