SUMIREN
Sisters who love Midori Sushi went to the newly opened Takashi in Seijo Gakuen, a slightly upscale Midori Sushi, and finally had the chance to go there. We visited on Sunday at 7:30 pm with a reservation. We opted for the omakase course priced at 14,850 yen. My stylish sister treated me to this meal. Here is a summary of the dishes we had:
- Oyster soup with a whole oyster in it, with a nice yuzu aroma at the end.
- Tender baby squid and monkfish liver, both delicious.
- Crab meat and chrysanthemum flower, a refreshing dish for a break.
- White fish milt with kelp dashi sauce, a perfect combination.
- Assorted sashimi plate with bonito, amberjack, tuna, and scallop, all fresh and perfect with white wine.
- Salmon roe chawanmushi with plenty of roe.
- Squid from Echigo, easy to chew and refreshing.
- Flounder from Aomori with hirame engawa on top, a well-balanced dish.
- Horse mackerel from Oita, very delicious.
- Mackerel pressed sushi, a first-time experience for me, and very tasty.
- Fatty tuna with a satisfying texture.
- Prawn and sea urchin, a luxurious combination.
- Fresh eel, also in pressed sushi style.
- Seared tuna belly, rare and meaty.
- Mountain burdock and shiso roll, a refreshing end to the meal.
- Red miso soup, perfect after a fulfilling meal.
- Ankimo as the final nigiri, also in roll form.
- Tamago made with shrimp paste, like a unique castella cake.
- Yogurt mousse with strawberries, a gentle and not overly sweet way to end the meal.
Finally, we made it to the Seijo branch. It seems easier to make reservations now compared to before. The counter seating offers a calm atmosphere, suitable for an adult date. It was delicious and a great experience. Thank you for the meal!
