This time, I experienced gourmet dining at "PizzeriaTAKATABOKUSYA" located about a 5-minute walk from Waseda Station on the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line. In a casual and stylish interior, you can enjoy authentic Italian cuisine centered around Neapolitan pizza using authentic ingredients. Pets are allowed inside the restaurant, but since seating is limited, reservations are essential. The restaurant's specialty pizza is recreated using traditional Neapolitan methods, baked in a stone oven with firewood at a high temperature of over 400 degrees for just 90 seconds. The firewood used for this purpose is prominently stacked in front of the shop. Although pets are allowed inside, there is a small space on the left side of the entrance that is somewhat separated like a terrace seat, mainly equipped with sofa seats, which is the area where pets are allowed. With only about 4 tables available, it is advisable to make a reservation. The resident dog freely roaming inside the restaurant came to greet us at our table. The menu mainly features pizzas, with 13 varieties each of tomato sauce-based and mozzarella cheese-based pizzas available in S size (about 20cm) and L size (about 25cm). You can also choose from 12 toppings. In addition, pasta, appetizers, desserts, and a special menu for dogs are available. For dogs, there are three main dishes: "Chicken Liver Meat Gratin" (tax included 550 yen), "Salmon and Vegetable Terrine" (tax included 600 yen), and "Beef and Tofu Hamburger" (tax included 650 yen). There are also three snacks and two types of birthday cakes available with a reservation made at least two days in advance. The drinks we ordered were the beer "Pale Ale" (tax included 650 yen) and "Mango Orange" (tax included 500 yen). The Pale Ale features a refreshing hop aroma and a pleasant bitterness. The Mango Orange has a strong mango sweetness and flavor, with a hint of orange acidity, resulting in an overall refreshing taste. The first dish we ordered was the "Assorted Appetizers" (tax included 1,400 yen), which includes pickles, prosciutto, liver pate on baguette, salmon marinated, frittata (Italian-style omelette), and marinated octopus. They are all quite delicious, but personally, I favored the rich and creamy liver pate. We also added a glass of red wine (tax included 650 yen), which has a good balance of soft tannins and fruity flavors. The first pizza we ordered was the "Carlos Favorite" (tax included 1,800 yen) topped with mozzarella, anchovies, garlic, olives, capers, oregano, and tomatoes. The salty anchovy, acidic olives and capers, and the slightly bitter and refreshing oregano create a great balance, complementing the tomatoes perfectly. The second pizza was the "Quattro Formaggi" (tax included 1,550 yen) topped with mozzarella, gorgonzola, pecorino, and grana padano cheeses. You can drizzle honey on it to enjoy a different flavor. I personally enjoyed the unique tang of gorgonzola, and the pizza dough was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, making it delicious. For dessert, we had the "Tiramisu" (tax included 600 yen). While the mascarpone cheese had a mild acidity and a slightly sweet milky flavor, I felt that there was a bit too much sponge cake soaked in coffee and liqueur, leaving a somewhat dry feeling. The second dessert was the "Creme Brulee with Berry Ice Cream" (tax included 600 yen). The rich and flavorful custard with the crispy texture and slightly bitter and fragrant caramel topping was a perfect match. The berry ice cream on top also added a sweet and refreshing berry flavor as a nice touch. Thank you for the meal.
