特盛ヒロシ
I was deeply impressed by a tonkatsu restaurant when I first moved to Tokyo (^.^) Sankin, founded in 1946 (Showa 21) in Shinjuku, has a long history as a tonkatsu restaurant. Although it temporarily expanded its stores, only the Yotsuya branch, opened in 1956 (Showa 31), continued operating until the retirement of the president led to its temporary closure. However, due to the overwhelming support from regular customers and the desire for a reopening, former managers and employees decided to reopen the restaurant in a slightly different location in Yotsuya. I have been a customer for 10 years now (^.^) The restaurant is located just a 3-minute walk from Yotsuya Station on the JR Chuo Line, Sobu Line, and Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line. I visited the restaurant alone around 7 pm. It had been a while since my last visit. As soon as I entered the restaurant, the familiar smell of Sankin filled the air. The scent of oil... a pleasant aroma to me. The restaurant has about 6 seats at the counter and around 20 tables. I was seated at the counter. Of course, I ordered the hirekatsu. The price varies based on the weight (grams). The meat is from Hayashi Pork. 100g costs 1,550 yen, 150g costs 1,850 yen, and 200g costs 2,150 yen, all served as set meals. I ordered the 150g set. The set meal includes rice, miso soup, and cabbage, with free refills for rice, miso soup, and cabbage. They also offer hirekatsu, ebi fry, kaki fry, and even a mix fry. They have miso katsu and katsudon as well. At the counter, there are dressings available, including two types of dressing: green juice and Southan dressing. (I remember there used to be yuzu dressing and sesame dressing in the past ^_^;) I waited for about 10 minutes. The hirekatsu set arrived \(^.^)/ This is it, the tonkatsu from Sankin. The aroma of the batter was a familiar sensation. The batter is firm and crispy, just like I remember. The fatty part at the edge of the tonkatsu is amazing. The taste is just as delicious as ever. Especially the fatty part at the edge, where the batter, fat, and sauce blend perfectly, making the rice go down smoothly. The clam soup, cabbage, and dressing were all delicious as usual. I had seconds of the cabbage and miso soup. It had been a while since my last visit, but it was still great. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely visit again.
