In the evening, I stopped by for a meal before heading back to Nagoya. I remember that about a month ago, the croquettes were sold out during the Patlabor collaboration at Meidai Fuji Soba. I wonder if they are still continuing that collaboration? The ticket machine had a "sold out" sign. Despite feeling a sense of impermanence, I enjoyed a delicious meal with added yomogi tempura on the kakiage oroshi soba. Thank you for the meal.

Fuji Soba Takadanobaba Ekimae store is located just across the pedestrian crossing to the left from the Waseda exit of Takadanobaba Station. It is a 24-hour restaurant. I visited this store for the first time around noon on a weekday. I bought a meal ticket at the ticket machine near the entrance. There are about 40 buttons on the machine, offering seasonal soba dishes, curry katsudon, soba sets, and cold soba dishes. I decided to go for the katsudon and soba set, ordering a full portion. Payment can be made with Suica or PASMO. The set cost 870 yen. I chose the "morisoba" option when handing in my ticket at the counter. The restaurant has plenty of seating, but it was quite crowded during lunchtime. However, the turnover rate was fast, so I didn't have to wait long. In about 2-3 minutes, my number was called, and I picked up my order. The soba looked normal, and the katsudon had a thick slice of pork loin with a slightly small amount of egg. The sauce was sweet and overall delicious. The convenient location makes it a great spot for a quick meal.

Having breakfast in Takadanobaba. When it comes to a quick breakfast around the station, it's usually a café, bakery, or something like that. It's been so long since I last visited Fuji Soba, I can't even remember when it was. Looking back at my records, it seems to be about 4 years ago. I arrived around 7:30 am, with a few customers already there and a few more coming in later. I always thought of Fuji Soba as a place to efficiently have a meal, but I was surprised to find the interior clean and bright, almost like a family restaurant. I quickly decided on my order at the ticket machine, choosing a breakfast set and a katsu-don set to share. The food was served promptly, especially the katsu-don. The soba and dipping sauce were just like the classic standing-eating style. The katsu-don had the expected taste, with slightly thin meat. The udon had a less chewy texture. The tanuki rice in the breakfast set was just rice topped with fried tempura bits and seaweed. My impression 4 years ago was that it was cheap and fast, but this time it was all about being fast. I used this restaurant for a solo lunch when I came to Tokyo. I purchased a ticket at the ticket machine at the entrance. When handing it to the staff, I tore off the stub. I filled my water and took a seat. When my number was called, I picked up my order at the counter. I ate. After eating, I returned the dishes to the return slot. The taste is consistently good, never a disappointment. In hot weather, cold soba is the way to go. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. ★... 4.5 Solo diners' ease of use. It's a great ally for solo diners. It's no problem even for first-timers. Solo diners, go for it!

I went to Fuji Soba where I ordered a katsudon for 550 yen by handing over a food ticket. I waited for my order to be called, but they took the whole ticket, which was confusing. The katsudon was served with a sweet and rich sauce, with 20% rice on top and 80% rice at the bottom. The atmosphere was like being in a Japanese restaurant overseas, with foreign employees chatting in their local language while enka music played in the background. The miso soup was a bit salty, but when poured over the remaining rice, it tasted delicious.

Located just a minute's walk from Takadanobaba Station, this restaurant has a prime location facing a main street. I visited around noon on a Saturday, during the peak lunch hour, so the place was quite crowded. However, the restaurant is spacious with a large capacity, so I had no trouble finding a seat. I ordered the soba noodles with spinach as a topping. After purchasing my meal ticket, it only took about a minute for my order to be served, showing great efficiency. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the sauce had a consistent, delicious flavor. The spinach was not overly soggy, adding a nice texture and taste when eaten with the soba. Overall, while not particularly outstanding, I found this restaurant to be a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience compared to others.

Katsudon set (840 yen). I was running late from my previous job, with another job in Yokohama in the afternoon, so I didn't have time to leisurely have lunch. I decided to stop by here. It had been about 5 years since I last visited Fuji Soba. I always used to order the katsudon set here, so today I got the same (840 yen) from the ticket machine. I also ordered kakesoba. The price had gone up by about 100 yen since my last visit, but the katsudon was still delicious as ever. The noodles, broth, and dipping sauce for the kakesoba were also tasty. I'll definitely be back for casual meals or even day drinking. Thank you for the meal.

"Wakame Udon for 480 yen. It was delicious as usual, and the interior of the restaurant was clean with spacious counter seats. I wish they would open more branches in office districts. If they opened in Otemachi, Nihonbashi, and Toranomon, areas with higher prices, I think they would be very successful."

Every Monday morning, there are chain stores that claim to be open 24 hours on their website but are actually closed (like Yoshinoya). As a last resort, I tried the popular miso ramen for 550 yen and a mini curry for 290 yen at a high-end restaurant, thinking it might not be enough. It was delicious!

The other day, after drinking in Takadanobaba, I stopped by a 24-hour Fuji Soba because I was hungry. I ordered a warm soba with a mini katsudon set. The soup warmed me up nicely! I will visit again!

Ikebukuro Station is quite crowded, it is a considerable terminal station. This restaurant is located just across the signal as soon as you leave the station. Among the many ramen shops, this place is very comforting. It is a simple soba and udon shop, but the orthodox menu is reassuring. The seasoning is Kanto-style, so as a Kansai person, there are some aspects that are hard to describe, but it is appreciated that you can eat calmly. The menu is extensive, so it might be nice to stop by after drinking.

I arrived early for the training tomorrow because it starts early in the morning. I had a late lunch, so I decided to have some light soba noodles here. I chose the Special Fuji Soba. The soba broth had a strong bonito flavor, not too salty and very delicious. It came with seaweed, fried tofu, tempura bits, and a half-boiled egg, like a mix of tanuki and kitsune soba. The soba noodles were slightly soft with a good texture. There were many toppings to choose from, so it was not boring. Thank you for the meal.

This is a shop that is very close and easy to enter in front of Takadanobaba Station. It seems that the popular item is the miso ramen served at this shop, which looks quite delicious in the menu photo. On this day, I had the pork cutlet rice bowl set. The sweetly seasoned cutlet was soft and delicious. The soba noodles also had the familiar taste of Fuji Soba and were consistently good. The shop is bustling with many customers due to its convenient location. The foreign staff members were also friendly and I had a good impression of them.

On Monday mornings before dawn, most chain stores are still closed, but there are a few Fuji Soba locations that are open 24 hours. I went to one and ordered a mini katsu-don set (served over rice) for 620 yen. I handed my ticket to the counter and waited for about 5 minutes until my order was called. The sauce for the katsu-don was just right for the season.

Fuji Soba, located under the familiar student loan sign visible from the train station platform. It's the last resort when you miss the Kabuki show. I don't know what this fortress is protecting, maybe my stomach. There are no standing soba shops in the local area. The staff here are a rare team of female workers speaking broken Japanese. Cold soba with egg, perfect for this time of year. Well, I eat it all the time anyway.

I visited for breakfast set A priced at 410 yen on a weekday after 6:00 AM. There were 3 customers before me and 5 customers after me. The spacious interior had plenty of room in the back. There were 2 staff members, both female. For an extra 50 yen, you could add rice to the morning soba, and the toppings were more suited for the rice. A nice idea.

Fuji Soba is a standing soba shop known for its unique taste with firm noodles and sharp broth. Today, I had the "Oomori Soba" which was not cut unevenly like other places. Even just the soba alone was delicious. The noodles seemed to have a moist texture to them. The broth was still sharp and flavorful, with a dry finish. Adding soba-yu (soba water) didn't help with the spiciness, likely due to the strong wasabi and thick green onions. I will definitely be coming back to this place.

This is a shop I often rely on after night shifts. It opens early in the morning, which is very convenient for me. I visit occasionally. It's a slightly larger shop compared to other Fuji Soba locations. Being located near the station, it always has a decent amount of customers. The food is not much different from other shops.

After 7 AM, when you're in the mood for a hearty breakfast, the options in front of Takadanobaba Station are surprisingly limited. If it's before 8 AM, there are some places that might catch your eye, but when you're in a hurry, your choices are pretty much limited to Matsuya or soba/udon. Standing soba shops are excluded since I'm with 5 people and we want to sit down comfortably. So, in such situations, the only options are either Fuji Soba or Matsuya. Since I don't feel like climbing up a hill, I chose Fuji Soba. The rating for this Fuji Soba branch is surprisingly high at 3.22. For a chain restaurant, this is quite impressive. Since it was morning, I went for the Menchi Katsu set meal. For 500 yen, you get Menchi Katsu with egg and soba. I even splurged on adding red pickled ginger tempura! Menchi Katsu Tamago Toji - Menchi Katsu topped with egg - is a combination that I hadn't seen much before, but it was surprisingly delicious! As for the soba, no comments needed. It was the usual Fuji Soba. The key here was the red pickled ginger tempura. I thought about enjoying it with the soba, but then I remembered how tasty it was to put red pickled ginger on oyakodon at Nakau. The red pickled ginger tempura went perfectly with both the soba and the Menchi Katsu Tamago Toji. Discovering this combination made me quite fond of Fuji Soba! I'm not sure why the rating is so high, but I think it's because of its close proximity to the station, the lack of other options, and the affordable prices. Thank you for the meal!

To be honest, Fuji Soba is neither delicious nor terrible. It's not the kind of place you would evaluate for taste or quality, or post on a gourmet website. It's more like, "I don't feel like looking for something better, so I'll just go to Fuji Soba." The enka music playing in the restaurant also brings down the mood, making it hard to feel energized. But sometimes, I just have a random craving for Tempura Soba, and that's when Fuji Soba comes in handy. This time, the broth was lukewarm and overall, it was just okay. That's my honest impression after eating there.
