I used the goto eat ticket last week, but I still had some left, so today I had lunch at the Italian restaurant, Cinque Ikariya, which is part of the same Ikariya group ❤️ Located in a renovated machiya, it is a stylish and clean restaurant just like French 532. For lunch, there is only one option to choose from, which includes a choice of two pasta dishes or two meat dishes. I ordered the additional clam and rape blossoms, and the fresh tomato aglio e olio, as well as the charcoal-grilled beef sirloin bistecca. They bring out small plates for sharing the main dishes. First, we had a soup made with edamame beans. The appetizers were salt koji-marinated chicken, sea bream carpaccio, and Kyoto vegetables with bamboo shoots, all of which were delicious! Especially the sauce served with the bamboo shoots was amazing. For the main pasta dish, the aglio e olio was perfect with just the right amount of garlic and salt, complemented by the bitterness of the rape blossoms. The other main dish, the beef sirloin bistecca, was tender and had a nice bounce to it, unlike the slightly tough one I had last week at French 523. For dessert, we had the rice flour baumkuchen and salt milk ice cream topped with ancient rice, both from the same group's baumkuchen shop. The coffee was freshly roasted. There is also a café in the same group, so it's no wonder everything tasted delicious. I've mentioned 523 a few times before, but I might like this one better ❤️ #Sliptknotdachs #KyotoItalian #CinqueIkariya #ikariya523 #Neko-koji #Italian #Kyoto #KyotoFamousRestaurants #KyotoGourmet #SirloinSteak #KyotoRestaurantHopping #AglioEOlio #Meat #IkariyaGroup #DeliciousRestaurantsInKyoto #KyotoGourmet #kyoto #yamy #iphone13 #SeasonalVegetables #Cats #CatsofInstagram #YouCanFixAllProblemsYourself #Cat #CatLover #DogsAndCats #DogsLiveOnLove #Catstagram #CatsOfInstagram #CatsOfTheWorld

The other day, I stayed in Kyoto and planned to visit a very popular standing bar, but unfortunately it was temporarily closed. So, I did some research and ended up at this place I wanted to try. Even though I had eaten a lot for lunch, I decided to go for something light. We were seated at a table on the second floor. I ordered a sparkling wine, which was dry and refreshing. The bread served as an appetizer was pumpkin focaccia and ciabatta, delicious with olive oil and salt. The salad with prosciutto, seasonal fruits, and mozzarella was a perfect combination. The tomato and basil pomodoro pasta from Tuscany had a chewy texture like thin udon noodles. We also tried the charcoal-grilled beef steak, which was recommended to us as it had good quality domestic beef. The meat was tender with a subtle fat content. We shared the dish and found the seasoning to be a bit strong. The total bill for two people, excluding tax, was ¥7,280. I wanted to have more drinks, but the staff seemed busy so we decided to leave. The restaurant had a mix of retro and modern Kyoto vibes. It was a nice dining experience in Kyoto.

I ordered pasta "Hokkaido Kitano Kaori wheat peach" with tomato and basil pomodoro. It was made with fresh rice flour and the pasta was chewy and delicious. The basil and tomato paired well together. The tomato was excellent. I also added charcoal-grilled bisteca.

Good points:
- I was able to make a reservation for one person even at night
- They provided a single serving of the appetizer, which was delicious and well thought out
- They seated me by the window, which was comfortable
- They had a water server with fruits in it
- They explained the differences in the pasta menu in detail
- The staff were friendly and welcoming
Unexpected points:
- The pasta I chose, with dried fish and seasonal vegetables in garlic and oil sauce, was bland. There were too many bell peppers and zucchinis, which made it a bit boring. However, if shared among a few people trying different pastas, it would be good.
- I remember having a more impactful dish at Ikariya in Kawaramachi, but this place seems more suited for a dinner course. I might try their meat dishes next time.
- The interior was chic and the staff were kind and helpful, so I would like to try their meat dishes on my next visit.

I visited for the first time and had the lunch course. The service was excellent, with wonderful hospitality. The dishes, from the appetizer to the main course, were carefully prepared and delicious. It made me want to visit again for dinner with my wife.

We visited with a 4-year-old and a 1-year-old. We chose the 2,500 yen course, and requested a lunch plate with egg and wheat removed for the kids. [Taste] The soup and pasta at the beginning were delicious. The pasta was chewy and just to my liking. I don't remember if I could have chosen a larger portion, but I wanted to eat more. [Service] The service was average, nothing special. We folded the stroller since it's a small place. [Cost performance] Also average. There were many groups of women dining, making it a perfect spot for a girls' night out. Thank you for the meal.

Had a lovely lunch with my wife. It was our first time going for lunch. The soup and appetizer platter were delicious. The pasta was great on its own, but even better with the green sauce. The dessert ice cream was also delicious and we were very satisfied. Will definitely come back again.

I visited this restaurant for a shared lunch set. The popular shops line the picturesque street of Shinkyogoku. The place was also packed to the brim. Although it's self-service, I loved that you could choose between citrus and herbal water. The set includes appetizers, a choice of pasta, a main dish, dessert, and a post-meal drink. This time, I opted for a choice of one drink (including alcohol) for an all-inclusive price of 3000 yen per person. There are two types of bread, both generously sized. The pasta portion is standard, and the main dish is substantial, so even men should find it satisfying.

I made a reservation for the sharing plan and visited the restaurant. The lunchtime was bustling with female customers and the restaurant was full. I was given an explanation of the menu, but I didn't quite understand, so I asked for recommendations and followed them. I enjoyed the appetizer, pasta, main meat dish, and dessert. The eggplant in the appetizer and the meat were delicious and tender. Water was self-service, with two types of tonic water available. The atmosphere was not noisy, and I was able to enjoy a good lunchtime while chatting without worrying about the surroundings.

The atmosphere was great and all the food was delicious~ I will definitely come back here! I reserved a birthday plate for my friend, and they brought it out at the perfect moment. In other restaurants, you usually have to pretend to go to the bathroom and signal the staff for the timing, so it's really nice that they understand here. Do all restaurants in the world understand this?

The food and service level were not matched by the excessive topping on the drinks. The appetizers in the menu category were not just simple dishes, but the main focus. The portion sizes and pricing of other dishes were also questionable. It was unclear if the dishes were meant for sharing or not. The initial explanation mentioned that 4-5 dishes were suitable for 2 people, but depending on the choices, it was not enough. I made a reservation and was shocked to find out they didn't have draft beer (my fault for not checking). I had relied on old photos and menus from the restaurant's past on Tabelog. The selection of sake, shochu, and wine seemed like they were just items from a liquor store. The wine came in two sizes, 110ml each time I ordered, but the amount was noticeably different between the first and second time. The assorted appetizers were not as evenly presented as the menu's image suggested, and they felt overpriced. The taste was average. The bone-in chicken confit lacked flavor, making it just soft chicken meat. The salsiccia was delicious, with the perfect match of pork flavor and spices. However, the mashed potatoes side dish tasted like powdered milk and was disappointing. The tortellini was tasty, with a strong garlic sauce providing a distinct flavor. The souffle frittata was not as fluffy as expected, with too little pancetta to notice. The tomato sauce was bland, making it somewhat boring. I ordered the large size, but it was nowhere near the quantity stated for 3-5 people in the menu. The wine was decent but overpriced.

I visited the restaurant around 12:30 on a weekday, and although it was full, I was told that I could wait for a table as one customer was just finishing dessert. I didn't have to wait long and was seated right away. The restaurant was quite crowded, especially with moms having lunch with their kids and some middle-aged to elderly men. The menu was explained to me in detail after being seated, and there were two lunch sets available with options to add dessert for an extra cost. The food quality was excellent, especially the steak and handmade pasta. The staff paid attention to detail, even providing olive oil to enhance the flavors of the dishes. The atmosphere was lively and the service was top-notch. PayPay was accepted for payment, and overall, I had a great dining experience and would love to visit again in the future.

All the dishes are delicious. I will definitely come back again. However, it's a bit disappointing that there are not many salad options on the menu. You can make reservations by phone, but the only thing you receive is a text with the URL to the restaurant's website. I didn't want to download the app, so I found it a bit inconvenient, but I still made the reservation. However, the confirmation page was hard to understand and the reservation was not actually completed! Luckily, there was a table available when we arrived, so we were saved from a difficult situation. If they say you can make reservations by phone, I wish there was also an analog option available for those who prefer it.

There is only one restroom on the first floor. Today, we dined on the second floor. It ended up being fully booked. It's quite popular. I ordered the all-you-can-drink charcoal-grilled pork online. I drank a lot and ended up drunk. The prosciutto was delicious. The service was pleasant. I would like to visit again.

I wanted to go to a restaurant with an Italian atmosphere, so I visited this place. There is also a 2nd floor, but the restaurant on the 1st floor is small, with seating for about 10 people. I wanted to eat quickly, so I ordered carpaccio, beef ragu pasta, bottarga oil pasta, and grapefruit sangria. The carpaccio was served with bell peppers instead of tomatoes, so it was refreshing and not too overpowering. The pasta was delicious, with the ragu sauce combined with black shichimi pepper for a deep and rich flavor. The bottarga pasta had a slight extra taste of bamboo shoots, but it was still tasty. The grapefruit sangria was sweet but refreshing, as it was soaked in honey. I wish there were counter seats so I could come alone next time.

Cinque is Italian for 5, so there is a menu with 5 items. The Antipasto platter includes vegetables, pate, and carpaccio, and is delicious. It is listed for 2 people, but they can make it for 1 person. Bread is served as a starter, warm and tasty, with flavorful olive oil. The recommended dish is the grilled Montalcino beef ribeye, cooked medium rare with vinegar and garlic olive oil. The oil is delicious on the potatoes! I chose a Pinot Noir to go with it. It's a satisfying meal, and there's dessert too, but I'll save that for next time. The service from the staff is excellent, and you can pay at your table.

The interior of the restaurant is not spacious but has a calming atmosphere. I reserved a lunch set with a drink included. The soup, appetizer, pasta, main meat dish, dessert, bread, and coffee were all delicious - the portion sizes were just right. Each dish was explained to us, and the service was great. The only thing that could have been better is if the water was served rather than self-serve, as it required passing through other customers to get a refill.

I suddenly felt like going to the restaurant, so I called on the same day and managed to get a reservation. It had been a while since I last visited. I was seated on the second floor, right next to the water server where everyone comes to get their water. It was a holiday, so the restaurant was fully booked. I had to go with the 2,350 yen course set, which included appetizers, soup, main dish, bread, drink, and dessert. For the main dish, you could choose between two types of pasta or pay extra for meat. My friend had the Genovese pasta, and I chose a pasta with a name I couldn't understand - it was called "Pink." The cold corn soup was delicious, and I wished there was more of the crunchy white corn in it. The appetizer platter was also tasty, with sweet sashimi. The pasta was tomato-based, slightly spicy, and had offal in it. I was surprised at first, but after trying it, I found it delicious. The dessert was salted vanilla ice cream and chocolate gateau, both of which were tasty. The coffee was average. The water server had mint and orange flavors, both of which were delicious. I will definitely visit again!

First day of the trip to Kyoto. The next day, I planned to eat plenty of freshly baked croissants for breakfast at the hotel, so I wanted to have a light à la carte dinner nearby. I made a reservation at this restaurant, which is operating with shortened hours and non-alcoholic drinks only during the state of emergency. The interior of the restaurant, renovated from an old folk house, was calm and relaxing. We were seated on the second floor. Although it quickly became full, the seating was spaced out enough that it didn't bother us much. I ordered a citrus-based non-alcoholic cocktail, which was refreshing and delicious. For appetizers, pasta, and wagyu steak. - Appetizer platter: Simple yet delicious. The prosciutto and water eggplant had a juicy, melon-like quality that was interesting. The Italian-style chijimi with Kujo green onions was a hit with me and my companion. - Tortellini pasta: The pasta was flat with mozzarella cheese woven inside, melting in the mouth. The sauce was also delicious, truly impressive! We ordered 8 pieces for two people, but we could have easily eaten 10. - Wagyu steak: Perfectly cooked charcoal-grilled steak. Tender, flavorful, absolutely fantastic. The sweet and crispy sweet potatoes served with it were also delicious. Although we were recommended dessert, we were already quite full. The total bill for two people was a little over 8,000 yen. We were very satisfied. As others have mentioned, the food service is quite slow. It wouldn't be an issue if you were enjoying wine, I suppose. The staff was friendly, and it was a great dinner for our trip. Thank you for the meal.

The seating is a bit tight, but the atmosphere is calm and woody. I found the overall level of the food to be high, with attention to detail in ingredients and pasta cooking. There are also unique menu items not found elsewhere, allowing for a casual yet enjoyable Italian dining experience.
