16.8 Revisited ☆ Gyoza Set Meal (limited quantity) for 550 yen is still on the menu, which is fantastic. This time, I decided to visit with my son for a little celebration. We ordered: 6 pieces of pan-fried gyoza for 250 yen each x2, rice with raw egg for 250 yen, edamame for 250 yen, 3 chicken wings for 450 yen, potato salad for 280 yen, bottled beer, highball, cold sake. The total came to 2800 yen, which is quite cheap! The gyoza were outstanding, with a flavorful pepper and salt seasoning on the chicken wings, and a delicious potato salad. My son was also impressed. I originally wanted to visit with the intention of slapping my son, who had dyed his hair blonde, but we ended up in a great mood as a parent and child.
16.1.19 I found out about this restaurant from a reviewer's recommendation. The place seemed a bit intimidating for a woman dining alone, with only 4-5 counter seats visible from the outside. However, I was determined to try their reportedly delicious gyoza without garlic. Luckily, I had a male friend with me that day, and I confidently asked if we could just have a meal. It was around 6 pm, with two people at the counter and a family of three waiting for their food at one of the three tables in the back. There was a room in the back too. We were seated at a 2-person table. I noticed that they were turning away customers because it takes time to prepare the food.
I ordered the Gyoza Set Meal (8 gyoza, simmered dish, potato salad, miso soup, pickles) for 550 yen. It came with 8 gyoza, which was a pleasant surprise. The gyoza had a slightly crispy skin and a nice color, and were neatly arranged on the plate. The meat filling appeared darker and richer than the usual pork mince in gyoza, almost like it contained beef. The flavor of the meat itself was incredibly delicious. The combination of the green and white parts of the leek added to the overall deliciousness, with the crunchy texture and sweetness of the white part enhancing the flavor. The gyoza had a similar texture to onions, so I wondered if there were onions in them as well. It was truly a flavorful gyoza. The side dishes included a vegetable and dried tofu simmer, a generous portion of potato salad, and a flavorful miso soup with a strong saltiness but a refined dashi taste. Despite being a bit too much for my age, I finished everything without getting tired of the gyoza. The price of 550 yen was unbelievably cheap! The owner was also very friendly. It seems that the restaurant may have changed its operating hours, as it didn't seem to be open for lunch when I passed by a few times before. So, make sure to check before going to enjoy delicious gyoza. (I apologize for not confirming myself)
