The café in front of Shimokitazawa Station is a two-story building with spacious seating, making it comfortable to spend time there. The quality of the coffee is high, although slightly more expensive than Starbucks. I believe that the prices are reasonable considering the location, and I hope that Shimokitazawa continues to develop.

Shimokita Front is located right after exiting Shimokitazawa Station. The first floor is crowded with people, so it's recommended to secure a seat before heading to the register. I ordered a Mixology Latte, which is a combination of hojicha and coffee. The hojicha's nutty flavor pairs well with the coffee's bitterness and acidity, creating a nice balance with the milk. They also have a "SARUTAHIKO COFFEE Night Edition" starting at 7 pm, where they will serve coffee-based cocktails. I'm interested in trying it out as it seems like a nice place to unwind in the evening. They are open until 11 pm, so I wonder if the atmosphere will be a bit more relaxed at night.

I had coffee at the Sarutahiko Coffee shop in Shimokitazawa. They brew the coffee after you order. I chose the Sarutahiko French Blend, which is a classic. I waited about 5 minutes for the coffee to arrive. It had a strong aroma, with just the right amount of bitterness and acidity. It was delicious. I was glad to be able to enjoy a good cup of coffee at Sarutahiko Coffee without any fuss. I felt their dedication to quality more than at Starbucks.

Since it was close to the station, I stopped by to kill time. The atmosphere of the shop was nice. I ordered a hojicha latte and a strawberry latte. The staff drew a lovely picture for me, which made me very happy! The hojicha latte had a strong hojicha flavor that blended well with the milk, and it was very delicious. I would like to visit again.

Established in Ebisu in 2011, this specialty coffee shop has since expanded to 19 locations in Tokyo. It is known for using top-level techniques in roasting and extraction, making it a unique coffee shop. Despite not being a coffee connoisseur, I had always wanted to visit this place. I ordered a cafe latte to enjoy in the store, but it was served in a takeaway cup. I prefer drinking coffee from a cup, but the taste of the cafe latte was exceptional. In the midst of the bustling streets of Shimokitazawa, this delicious coffee made me feel richly satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

Today, starting from December 12, 2022, the evening hours from 8pm to midnight are open for business. The specialty is cocktails, but today I had the KUMO Affogato Parfait. A winter night parfait! It consists of cotton candy resembling clouds with espresso poured over it. I should have taken a picture after the clouds melted, but that can be a surprise for next time haha. You can enjoy the wonderful atmosphere with the rich aroma of coffee. They also have FREE WiFi, so it's a good place for nighttime nomads. #Shimokitazawa #ShimokitazawaCafe #ShimokitazawaBar #SarutahikoCoffee #Affogato #Parfait #ParfaitTour

I had a cold brew iced coffee for 430 yen. Customers are encouraged to secure a seat before ordering. They provide markers to reserve seats, which is very convenient. The background music in the shop includes New Order and Oasis, creating a pleasant atmosphere with UK rock music. I was escorted to the exit when leaving, which was a nice touch. It was my first time at this type of coffee shop.

Sarutahiko Coffee in front of Shimokitazawa Station has a piano next to it, and various people take turns playing it, surprising everyone with their skills. The interior of the shop is stylishly decorated, and you can even buy gelato by the register. There is a section where you can purchase Sarutahiko goods, such as handkerchiefs dyed with coffee and coffee beans sugar, all of which are very cute. The tall iced coffee has a refreshing acidity, perfect for summer, and the cup with the Sarutahiko logo in blue is simple and cute. They offer four types of drip coffee - Big Lucky Blend, Today's Blend, El Salvador, and Dope Purple - allowing coffee lovers to enjoy a variety of options. This is a must-visit place for coffee enthusiasts. Visit my blog for more details: https://zan3tho.com

Red grape flavored caramel latte for ¥600. The scent of red grapes is fragrant and delicious. The first sip was sweet! I got it iced, so as the ice melted, it became just right. Not too heavy, surprisingly refreshing and easy to drink. It was delicious.

This is a small chain with 13 locations in the country, but you don't feel any cheapness in the taste or interior. It is 100% clean and well-maintained. The space inside is small but well utilized. It's not a place to relax, but more like a quick breather before heading to the next destination. The drip coffee (500 yen) takes about 3 minutes to brew as they make it one cup at a time. You can choose from various beans and blends. The most standard blend is "Sarutahiko French" with a rich and impactful flavor. It has a good body but not too bitter, with a hint of fruitiness. The only downside is the paper cup, which gives off a paper smell when you try to smell the coffee. Personally, I wish they would change the cup. The Sarutahiko cafe latte (580 yen) is easy to drink but slightly too fruity for a latte.

Sarutahiko-san, who is secretly attempting to conquer the restaurant, has been eyeing it since it opened in Shimokitazawa. There are two entrances, and as soon as you enter, the staff greets you. The staff are customer-friendly and let you know your waiting number if you are dining in. The restaurant layout makes good use of the irregular building shape, with bench seats and high-chair tables placed in the stepped interior. There is also a terrace seat with a stove, but we dined in the stylish interior with greenery. We were seated promptly. We ordered the following items:
- Seasonal paste (500 yen)
- Sarutahiko's cafe latte (580 yen)
The seasonal paste, despite being described as such, did not have a specific flavor like yuzu. It had a visual reminiscent of snow or frost, with a subtly sweet and moist taste that was delicious. The latte, which I hadn't had in a while, had a richer taste compared to Starbucks and was delicious. The staff, as mentioned earlier, were friendly. I will visit again as it is convenient near the station.

I found out about Sarutahiko Coffee at Cambria Palace and decided to visit their Shimokitazawa store right away ☕️ I went there with the aim of trying the "Gelatte" for 830 yen! After ordering, I saw customers shaking it themselves, like enjoying a parfait. The drink had pistachio ice cream, along with flavors of berries and cinnamon, making it very delicious ✨ I was also recommended the hand drip Christmas blend ☕️, which was not too strong, had a refreshing aroma, and a smooth taste, making it a perfect match with the Gelatte! I also ordered the Winter Mocha, so I ended up drinking three drinks by myself. Perhaps because there were many sweet drinks, the staff kindly brought me water. I was impressed by their hospitality ✨

A friend told me before that topping ice on the coffee from Sarutahiko Coffee makes it really delicious, so I decided to try it out. I don't usually drink this type of coffee, but I found it quite interesting. It was actually really tasty.

Sarutahiko Coffee in front of Shimo-Kitazawa Station is a great place where you can also buy bread, making it a convenient bakery cafe. You can enjoy breakfast, and if the weather is good, you can also have lunch on the terrace. It can get quite crowded, so it may not be ideal for meetings, but it's definitely a reliable cafe. The atmosphere is nice, so it can be used for various purposes!

On a hot day, I got a takeout iced coffee. I tried the "Fizzing Lemon Coffee," which is coffee with lemon syrup and carbonated water. It was a menu item at Doutor last year, but I couldn't find it this year. However, I discovered it here. The coffee was mild with minimal bitterness, and the lemon and carbonation were very refreshing. It also had lemon slices that added a subtle fragrance. It was delicious and quenched my thirst. It was really tasty. Thank you for the meal.

I tried a sample of the new chilled coffee drink called Shirokuma Gelatte in tall size, available in sweetened and unsweetened versions. I arrived at the store right at the 10:00 am opening time. It would be nice if they opened a bit earlier. The coffee was delicious as always. The staff was also very friendly! Shirokuma Gelatte is a new type of drink that you shake before drinking. It takes a little bit of time after ordering to receive your drink.

Sarutahiko Coffee, located right by Shimokitazawa Station. This cafe, with its main branch in Ebisu, is one of my favorites. Although the seating is limited, the interior design focused on wood and greenery has a calming effect. There is also outdoor seating, which is great for enjoying your drink when the weather is nice. I ordered the cold brew coffee, served in a takeout cup so I could drink it outside. It was very easy to drink and refreshing. The service at Sarutahiko is always top-notch. They even made sure to say "Take care in this heat today" to everyone. Their heartfelt service always makes me want to go back. I might just try to visit all the Sarutahiko Coffee locations in Tokyo. Thank you for the meal.

I stop by this place in front of Shimokitazawa station when I want to take a break because it's easy to enter. This time, they were selling Takoblend from the mobile coffee shop "Tako Coffee" that appeared in the drama "Would You Like Some Coffee?". The package was cute and the coffee was delicious, so it was great.

I visited a coffee shop that opened in a new building facing a plaza created for the underground construction of the Odakyu Line at Shimokitazawa Station. It used to be a small shop in Ebisu, I heard. As a fan of period dramas, I cannot help but talk about Sarutahiko. Sarutahiko was a god sent by Amaterasu to guide Ninigi-no-Mikoto, who was tasked with ruling Japan. In Puccini's opera "Madama Butterfly," there is a scene where they sing "Izanagi, Izanami, Sarutahiko," but it seems there is some confusion in putting these two gods side by side. Amaterasu ordered Sarutahiko to guide Ninigi-no-Mikoto and in return, arranged for him to marry Ame-no-Uzume-no-Mikoto. Sarutahiko is a tall god with a long nose, and some say he may be the original tengu. I visited the coffee shop during lunchtime. It was quite crowded, and I had to find a seat before ordering. Finally, I found a small table and wooden chair near the opposite entrance. This time, I had milk French toast, yuzu bread, and blended coffee. The bread produced by Sarutahiko was quite delicious, but the milk French toast had a bit too much chewiness for an old man like me. My jaw got tired. The coffee was light and tasty, but it lacked the punch of espresso, giving a subdued feeling. Finally made it to Sarutahiko Coffee, but the short stay didn't allow for full enjoyment. A bit disappointing! (bitter smile)

I used it for an after-lunch menu, and although I forgot the name, I remember it was a medium to dark roasted Guatemala coffee. The coffee itself was neither good nor bad, but I think using ceramic cups instead of paper cups would be better for the visit.
