Udagawa, which was located in Nihonbashi, was revived in Kaki-ga-cho almost a year ago. Until recently, it was known as a delicious takeout-only katsu sandwich shop (although other items were also delicious). Then, before I knew it, they had opened a small eat-in shop next to it. According to Tabelog, it opened at the end of June. So, I decided to visit this time, thinking that the customer service at the restaurant would have improved by now. The restaurant opens at 11 am, so I opened the sliding door right after that. The interior of the restaurant has a counter with 6 seats and a table for 4 people on the right side of the entrance. In total, it can accommodate 10 people. The menu mainly features tonkatsu, including tonkatsu set meals, ton teki, chicken sauté, and fried shrimp set meals. These items can also be ordered as individual dishes, and they also offer vegetables and garlic rice. For those who want to eat slowly, they have course meals starting from 8000 yen. This time, since it was my first visit, I decided to try the tonkatsu. There are options for loin katsu set meal and tonkatsu set meal, and I chose the 220-gram loin katsu set meal. After a short wait, the loin katsu was served in front of me. It looks a bit larger than regular tonkatsu because it weighs 220 grams. The pink color and the good cooking of the meat can be seen from the cut surface. Now, what should I dip it in? On the counter, there are special sauce, Worcestershire sauce, seaweed salt, salted raw black pepper (which they bring in a small dish), and mustard to choose from. I first tried it with seaweed salt. The sweetness of the meat spreads in my mouth. Next, I poured the special sauce over it. The fruity taste of the sauce is quite nice. I put a lot of mustard on the katsu covered in sauce. The sweetness of the loin katsu, the acidity and sweetness of the sauce, and the flavor of the mustard... these flavors spread in my mouth. This is the taste of loin katsu... delicious. I forgot to take pictures of anything other than the loin katsu this time, but of course, it comes with rice and clam soup. Katsu and rice go well together. I finished the delicious loin katsu with rice in no time. It's nice to eat in. Takeout is good too, but I prefer to eat set meals in the restaurant. This time, I had the loin katsu set meal, so next time, I'll try the katsu-don. Thank you for the meal.
