I came to Nakasu and found a nice-looking restaurant after a short walk from the canal. Since it's lunchtime, I decided to give it a try. Despite being in Minami-Shinchi, a place where women usually hesitate to approach, I thought it should be fine during lunch. When I entered, they asked if I had a reservation, so maybe it's not ideal to come without one? A group that came after me was turned away. Since I was alone, I managed to get in just in time. I was asked to wait for a while in the waiting area, and they informed me that they had a reservation for the next seating at 2 pm, so they needed the table back by then. I agreed, as it was still before 1 pm, and they seated me at the counter. The place exuded a sense of luxury with orchids and beautiful women from Nakasu accompanied by gentlemen in my imagination. But the lunch prices were reasonable. I ordered the Imari beef sukiyaki set. While waiting, more reserved guests started arriving, and the counter soon filled up. The sukiyaki set arrived, and although the menu picture showed raw meat, it was already mostly cooked. They mentioned that I could have seconds of rice. They lit the burner to keep it warm, and I dug in. It was delicious! The salad with scallops and miso soup were also tasty, and of course, the rice was great. Besides pickles, they also served mentaiko, which I think is a must for men to have seconds of. For dessert, I could choose between coffee or ice cream, and I opted for iced coffee to not overdo the calories. It was a refreshing and delicious coffee. The total cost, including tax, was 1500 yen, which I found reasonable considering the location, ambiance, and service. They also offer lunch on weekends, which is a plus. With so many tempting menu items like lemon steak, I plan to make a reservation and visit again. Thank you for the meal!
