The sweet and rich broth was balanced by the pickled plum served in between bites. I now understand why the pickled plum is included. This casual restaurant turned out to be a big hit.

I always rely on Daimaru and use their parking lot often! I thought I could find a place in the Yaesu underground shopping area, and I was right! It was relatively empty! I've been to this restaurant before and it was delicious, so I decided to go back! I had a parent and child bowl made with Nagoya Cochin chicken, chicken soba, and Nanban! The ultimate combination! Whenever I feel like having lunch, I often go to Torimikazu. I usually order the oyakodon, but this time I was in the mood for chicken katsu don, and I also got soba as a set! I always start with the umeboshi. It's sweet and comforting. I dip the soba noodles in the mild chicken broth while enjoying the chicken tsukune. Especially in the cold season, it was a heartwarming delicious meal. After savoring the soba, I reach for the chicken katsu don. It's delicious on its own, but I like to sprinkle some shichimi togarashi on top. It adds a nice kick! I also try it with yuzu kosho. The spicy yuzu flavor complements the sweet egg topping perfectly! It was so tasty that I finished the seemingly large portion of chicken katsu don in no time! The fried chicken...I didn't even realize it was gone! Before I knew it, I was stuffed! It was definitely delicious!

Aichi prefecture's established restaurant Torimisawa. Not only in Aichi, but it seems they have expanded nationwide. The oyakodon I had in Nagoya was really delicious. As I was wandering around, I noticed a restaurant called "Torisanwa" that I had never tried before. It seemed like I could manage within my budget, so I decided to go there. I ordered the chicken soba set with fried chicken for 1,190 yen, with extra rice. The chain restaurant originating from Nagoya is actually not bad. They excel at creating a sense of value, catering to people who prioritize getting more than what they pay for. The fried chicken that came out was generously sized, with a satisfying crunch. The light seasoning paired well with a squeeze of lemon. The warm chicken soba with a gentle chicken broth was also a nice addition. If you can get this quality for under 1,200 yen, it's not bad at all nowadays. Upon researching later, I found out that the restaurant is managed by a company proud of their Nagoya Cochin chicken farming. It's worth coming back for the Nagoya Cochin parent-child bowl next time.

I looked up restaurants in the Yaesu underground shopping mall on Tabelog and found the "Torimisawa" branch there, where I usually get bento boxes. There was no line outside, so I went in. I sat at the counter where there were seats available. I ordered the "Chicken Cutlet Bowl" for 970 yen, which I used to eat often. The dish came with collagen soup and pickled plum. I sprinkled some shichimi spice on top and dug in. The chicken cutlet bowl was hot and fresh, with the egg being fluffy and delicious. The chicken cutlet itself was also tasty. The collagen soup with chicken meatballs was a nice addition. It's true that freshly made food is always better than bento boxes. I finished my meal in no time. It was delicious as always.
