Looking for some snacks to go with alcohol? This place offers a variety of pre-made dishes that need to be reheated. This time, I tried the beef tendon stew in a small cup. It was delicious and tender, with plenty of ingredients like leeks, daikon radish, burdock, shiitake mushrooms, and konjac. The gentle miso-based flavor was like a beef tendon version of pork miso soup. I enjoyed it so much that I finished it in no time. The chicken tail was quite large, with cartilage and other parts mixed in. It felt more like a butcher's chicken tail than one from a yakitori restaurant, a bit firmer. The chicken meatball was not coarsely ground, but rather soft. Personally, I didn't enjoy it much as it felt like a cheap hamburger. It's not recommended for eating on the go as the lukewarm yakitori skewers are sticky with sauce. They also have a variety of other deli items typical of a butcher shop. A convenient place for everyday meals.

I went for a walk after a long time and tried the Setagaya Tsumami Walking route that I used to participate in a few years ago. It's a course that passes through several retro shopping streets and walks along the Setagaya Line. As I have been living nearby for many years, it's a course that I don't walk often. Since the cherry blossoms are in bloom and the weather is nice, how about enjoying a walking cherry blossom viewing? In the current situation where cherry blossom viewing is being refrained from, how about enjoying cherry blossoms while walking? In the end, I turned back around the area of Gotokuji, and stopped by at Matsukage Shrine on the way, and took a break at a nearby shopping street. There was a delicious smell coming from a yakitori shop where foreigners were grilling, so I bought yakitori there. It is written as "Mikawa-ya," but there were some lineups that seemed slightly Turkish or kebab-flavored. I purchased the usual chicken thigh and chicken with leek for 110 yen each. I was curious about samosas and roast beef, but I thought the regular yakitori was delicious, with a slight kebab flavor. Mikawa-ya, with a bag that says "YAKITORI meet," has a foreign feel to it, but I was drawn by the good smell of them grilling diligently. Please visit Mikawa-ya and try it out!

I wandered around the area near Matsuo Shrine-mae Station around 7:30 pm on a weekday. Despite that, this shop was still open. They offered a variety of side dishes and bento boxes, making it a versatile shop. There were skewers of grilled chicken lined up at the storefront, so I decided to try some. The menu had a wide range of options listed, but it was a bit confusing as the menu plate did not match the actual items, making it hard to understand what was what and how much each item cost. The grilled chicken skewers were priced at 110-150 yen each. I ordered the thigh and green onion skewers, both priced at 110 yen each. The grilled chicken skewers on the tray were pre-made and not reheated upon serving, so they were a bit cold when I bought them. However, the meat was not too tough, and each piece was large and satisfying to eat. You could taste the care put into grilling them. The sauce was sweet but not spicy, which was nice. The green onions were sweet with a good texture. I thought they would taste even better if reheated.

The head chef at the Indian restaurant on the 2nd floor always serves delicious side dishes. They have unique items like samosas, which are rare for a meat shop. It's a fusion of Japanese and Indian cuisine. Last time, I tried the homemade chashu, so this time I'll have the homemade roast beef with sauce and horseradish. It's perfect with the right thickness and a sprinkle of pepper. It's delicious even without adding anything. Tomorrow morning, I'll make a roast beef sandwich with Nicholas's Pandemi bread and Inamine's vegetables. Thank you.

I love roasted pork! When I want to eat roasted pork, I come here. This is my favorite meat shop because my mom always says to buy the char siu here. The homemade roasted pork comes with special sauce and a lunch charm. It's best to sprinkle lots of chopped green onions on top when eating at home. I thought about searing it, but it's delicious as it is. I also tried the beef tendon stew I bought the other day, and it was also delicious. If my mom tells me to buy again, I'll come back right away. Thanks for the meal.

This is a shopping street leading to the Matsuo Shrine where Yoshida Shoin rests. There is a butcher shop on the street, offering a lineup of domestically produced A4 grade wagyu beef and other carefully selected meats. The owner of the shop is from Bangladesh and was recommended by the president of Mikawa-ya, where he had been working since coming to Japan, to become the 4th generation owner. He runs the shop with his wife. In 2008, they opened a curry restaurant called Jaquille on the second floor of the shop. It was also mentioned that Mama no Kuchiguse @ Musashi Kosugi, introduced on Moyamoya Samas, is a sister store. Some recommended dishes include chicken wings (432 yen) and a combination of shumai, meat gyoza, and 5 yakitori skewers (total 810 yen). The sauce for the chicken wings left a strong impression.

I purchased 12 skewers of yakitori from Mikawa-ya Butcher Shop, a beloved establishment in front of Matsukage Shrine Station, for 1560 yen. The Indian owner skillfully grills a large amount of yakitori starting from 3 pm. When I visited around 4 pm today, there was a line of 8 people waiting. The walls are adorned with photos of celebrities who have visited, and the shop has been featured on various TV shows. Although it wasn't available today, the Tandoori Chicken is also voluminous and reasonably priced. I hope this traditional deli in the downtown area continues to thrive.

I bought my favorite roast beef again. The roast beef here is really tender and delicious, and it's packed with flavor for just 500 yen including tax. I love the sauce and horseradish that come with it. I always end up devouring it in no time. It goes well with rice and is the kind of roast beef that I crave regularly.

On November 5th in the 4th year of Reiwa, after going to the beauty salon, my wife also stopped by here. The reason being that we found out the owner, who we thought was Indian last time, is actually from Bangladesh and is doing well. In the evening news, it was featured. Back to basics, we tried the "Roast Beef - ¥450" that left a good impression on our first visit. It seems there is a small discount on Fridays and Saturdays. We also tried the "Tulip". I forgot the prices, but they were cheap. The food was delicious and suited my taste. It would be great if they had an original sauce.

Unfortunately, along with the disappointing "beef tendon stew" that my wife purchased, there was another item called "Samosa - ¥250". Roughly speaking, it's like an Indian-style curry bread. It's not coated with breadcrumbs like a triangular cone. Unlike the usual dishes, it has less curry roux and the main filling is curry-flavored potatoes. I wonder if it goes well with the hard texture of the bread. It's bite-sized, so maybe the locals eat it as a snack? There seems to be a foreign staff member since my first visit, maybe he's from India?

On June 3, 2022, after my wife visited the salon, she bought my favorite classic dish, "Beef Tendon Stew - ¥650 (large)." However, something was different this time. The taste was bland and the stew lacked thickness. Upon checking, I found that the amount of main ingredient, beef tendon, was reduced! With news of price hikes being reported on TV and in newspapers almost daily, I would have preferred if they hadn't adjusted the ingredients. It changes the impression when you eat it. I learned for the first time that the staff are foreigners. They used to make it taste so good.

On March 3, 2022, the reason why the Danish pastries at Boulangerie Sudou were small was because of the "Beef Tendon Stew - ¥650 (large)." It would be difficult to take this home. The tendons are delicious, and the balance with konjac is exquisite. While eating, I thought that adding "baked tofu" here would make it perfect. I would allow carrots to participate for color, but is it a matter of preference? It's a dish with a plain appearance. I want to eat it again!

I wandered back and forth in front of Matsuo Shrine Shopping Street to buy dinner, but Hippopotamus Hamburg was closed, so I peeked into Sangoya and got takeout hamburgers from the refrigerator. They were individual servings with plenty of demi-glace sauce, buried in it. The hamburgers were meaty and substantial, like stewed hamburgers, and delicious. The salad was from the cafe STUDY in the same shopping street! It's a lively and famous place run by a Japanese wife and an Indian husband.

I took a stroll around the area in front of Matsunokami Shrine - there was a charming bar, a delicious-looking bakery, and a cozy café. It seemed like a peaceful and livable town. I decided to stop by a deli I was curious about. I couldn't decide what to get, so I picked up a homemade hamburger (450 yen) and a homemade pork cutlet (1 piece, 120 yen). I felt lighter on my way back. The hamburger was packed with meat and had a great demi-glace sauce. It was the kind of hamburger you crave once in a while. The pork cutlet came in a retro paper bag. It was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It was easy to eat and delicious. I might try their yakitori next time. Today, I enjoyed the pork cutlet and will warm up the yakitori at home. Let's toast to the unexpected treat! Thank you for the meal.

Today, my wife revisited a restaurant we randomly found last month while running errands nearby. This time, we ordered a small size of "beef tendon stew" for ¥232, and also got some roast beef for ¥400. Oh, they also had yakitori available. The lean roast beef was to my liking. It's a shame they used store-bought steak sauce, but I solved that by using the whole grain mustard in my fridge at home. The yakitori seemed to be prepared by someone with experience catering to international tastes, and they did a great job. However, the "beef tendon" dish really left a strong impression.

On February 26th, my wife had a hair appointment at 8:00 on a substitute holiday. I was surprised because that was the only available time slot. Afterward, we wandered around the area near Matsuo Shrine Station where she noticed a restaurant serving "beef tendon stew". There were many autographed cards displayed, and despite the affordable price of ¥650, the portion was surprisingly generous. The balance of burdock root and konjac was excellent, and even though it looked rich, the taste was actually quite mild. You can adjust the flavor to your liking with shichimi pepper. It was too much to finish in one sitting, so we wondered if it would last for a while.

It's a bit far from Matsuo Shrine Station. It's a local deli shop in town. I had some delicious and cheap chicken wings and croquettes. The service was friendly, and I think it's a place I want to visit again. Thank you for the meal!
