Tonight, after work, I came to Toyosu in Koto Ward. On weekdays, Toyosu is bustling with people rushing home from work. As I stepped out of the station, the noise of cars filled the air on the main street. A few minutes' walk from there, I found the restaurant I visited today. The entrance is on the second floor, slightly tucked away in a back alley. The interior of the restaurant, which opened in January this year, feels bright and clean. It has a modern and pop vibe, giving off a cute impression. The friendly staff guided me, and I asked for their recommended dishes for the night. - Marler skewer assortment (1,080 yen) - Cauliflower grill (220 yen) - Sand liver grill (220 yen) - Lamb ribs grill (180 yen) - Beef Achilles grill (220 yen) These skewers are cooked and served on a stylish skewer plate. It's a rare opportunity to enjoy such skewers amidst the diverse food culture. The experience of eating and chatting while holding a beer in hand, just like locals do, was enjoyable. - Sliced water bamboo and pork stir-fry (1,280 yen) - Tofu and green onion salad (580 yen) - Spicy stir-fried clams (1,280 yen) - Sweet and sour fried pork (1,280 yen) - Pork belly with Chinese tofu miso simmered dish (1,000 yen) - Seafood sour soup (980 yen) - Shanghai sake lees dumplings (1,280 yen for 3-4 people) - Pickled cabbage and pork handmade dumplings (980 yen) - Chives and shrimp mochi (270 yen) Chinese drinks: - Milk juice - Coconut juice - Tea Overall, the warm and cozy atmosphere of the restaurant, along with the delicious and unique dishes, made for a delightful dining experience.

The atmosphere was clean and nice, but the food... Although it looked good, it was far from being served hot. There was solid fuel under the hot plate which was stylish but it didn't really heat up the food. It was really disappointing. Also, the taste was too ethnic for children to enjoy, so we ended up going home almost without eating.

I had Sichuan cuisine. First, I tried spicy grilled chicken, which I enjoyed as I like spicy food. Then I had a spicy soup, which was quite spicy and I couldn't finish it. There were various types of Shaoxing wine available. I chose a cheap one, but it wasn't very tasty for drinking, more suitable for cooking. I think it's better to spend a little more and go for a mid-range Shaoxing wine.

I visited this restaurant recommended by a friend from Dalian. It specializes in local Dalian cuisine. The signature dish is the famous "Dalian Menzi". It's a stir-fry dish made with seafood, vegetables, and potato starch, and the sticky potato is called "Menzi". Interesting.

It's a relatively authentic Chinese restaurant. Skewers seem to be their specialty. To symbolize this, there is a warm iron plate with skewers placed on it at all times on each table. They offer a variety of lamb meats, ranging from delicious ones to those with a strong authentic flavor.

Located right by Toyosu Station, this Chinese restaurant was disappointing. The food was mediocre at best, with dishes lacking in flavor and value for money. The sweet and sour fried pork dish had very little meat and mostly batter, with a stale taste that was too sweet and sour. The skewers, which seemed to be a specialty, were also subpar. The lamb skewers were mostly fatty, which was disappointing. Despite the mediocre food, the restaurant was packed with noisy party guests, seemingly more interested in the atmosphere than the quality of the food. This seems to be a common theme in Toyosu, where every restaurant is filled with partygoers. It might be best to avoid dining in Toyosu in the evenings.

I finally visited the Chinese restaurant Kushi Mon in Toyosu, which I had been curious about since it opened. I arrived before 5 o'clock and the restaurant was starting to fill up, with mostly Chinese customers filling up the seats within a few minutes. As it was a Chinese restaurant, I ordered a Singha beer and what seemed to be a specialty dish. The orders were placed using a tablet, and while there was an option for extra spicy, there was no option to have my Shaoxing wine warmed up, so I had to ask a staff member for that. Since I learned about the way of enjoying Shaoxing wine with dried plums, I have become quite a fan of it. The staff didn't seem to be very proficient in Japanese, so I couldn't communicate my request for dried plums to go with the Shaoxing wine, and ended up having to run to a convenience store to buy some. The dishes had a taste that reminded me of authentic Chinese cuisine, with a mix of fragrant spices like cumin used in most of the dishes, which I enjoyed. I think the most delicious dish was the grilled lamb skewers, but overall, the dishes had a taste that reminded me of China. I left the restaurant feeling full and satisfied with the authentic Chinese cuisine and Shaoxing wine.

For lunch, I went to a Chinese restaurant here. I ordered seafood soup noodles with snow peas and clams from the touch panel menu in the spacious 2nd floor dining area. The menu featured authentic Chinese dishes. The dish arrived promptly and had a unique flavor compared to Japanese-style Chinese restaurants. As someone who is not an expert in Chinese cuisine, I can't quite put my finger on it, but it felt very authentic. It was a satisfying meal.

For lunch on October 20th, I went to Kushi Mon near Toyosu Station. I had been there once at night, but this was my first time visiting for lunch. It was a bit crowded when I arrived, so I had to wait a little for a table. During lunchtime, they serve regular Chinese dishes, not just skewers like in the evening. I ordered the Sweet and Sour Pork Set for 780 yen. The bite-sized sweet and sour pork was crispy and delicious, with plenty of meat. The colorful vegetables and the sweet and sour sauce coated pork made it a delightful dish. The boiled egg looked like a century egg at first, but when I cracked it open, it turned out to be a soy sauce-marinated egg with a firm texture. The meal also came with pickled radish and a Chinese-style soup with corn and egg. I enjoyed the ample rice with the sweet and sour pork. The meal ended with almond jelly for dessert. I also noticed the Spicy White Fish Stew Set that the people next to me were sweating while eating, so I plan to try that next time.

Taking photos at drinking parties is difficult. I forgot to take a lot, but here are a few. The Chinese cuisine here is more similar to local dishes, with a spicy and ethnic aroma. I personally like it a lot, but those who dislike coriander or star anise might not enjoy it. Perhaps because the taste is close to the original, there are many Chinese staff and customers here.

I heard that this restaurant offers a casual dining experience where you can enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine and yakitori easily, so I decided to visit for lunch. The entrance is flashy, but the interior has a casual feel which is nice. I started with Chang beer, sand liver, and green onion cold dish. The spare ribs with well-infused flavors were also delicious. Although the menu includes quite a few high-end ingredients, I opted for yakitori that day. They even had lamb skewers available. It was good that they also served Guinness. This restaurant offers a variety of 100 single dishes including authentic Chinese cuisine, yakitori, and a wide selection of beers. I would like to try some unusual dishes next time. It was a great lunch, thank you for the feast!

I tried this restaurant recommended by a Chinese colleague. What I had: - Mapo Eggplant set meal, around 800 yen Surprisingly quite authentic and spicy! I took small bites at a time. I can handle spicy food to some extent, but it was still spicy...!! But it made me sweat in a good way and was delicious!

After finishing work today, I went to Toyosu. I often hear about Toyosu, but it was actually my first time visiting. I decided to have a drink before heading home, so I searched on Tabelog and found a restaurant that caught my interest. That's how I ended up at Kushimon. Upon entering, I sanitized my hands and was seated at a table in the back. The ordering was done through a touch panel. I started with a draft beer! As I was searching for the draft beer option on the panel, I came across an interesting menu item - the evening drinking set. It includes one drink and two appetizers, with an option to add fried rice. I imagined salarymen stopping by here on their way home, having a drink while snacking on appetizers and eating fried rice before heading back...haha. We just wanted to drink, but we needed some snacks, so we ordered the set without fried rice. The appetizers we chose were marinated cucumbers, sand liver with pickled vegetables, spicy marinated pork intestines, and pressed tofu with green onions. We ordered through the panel and our draft beer arrived promptly, so cheers! The first beer went down quickly and was delicious. Time for a refill, right? After a while, the appetizers were served. The two items we ordered were plated together. They were quite tasty! Especially the spicy marinated pork intestines, I really liked them. The crunchy texture of the green peppers went well with the alcohol. I switched to a whiskey highball at this point. The appetizers were more filling than expected, so the alcohol went down smoothly. Shall we order some more? Considering the restaurant's name, I thought maybe skewers were their specialty, so we ordered beef kalbi skewers (medium spicy). You can also order extra spicy ones. When we tried them, they were unexpectedly spicy. The meat itself was good quality, I think. Let's order some more skewers! We ordered pork belly skewers (medium spicy and non-spicy). The menu item is actually called "three-tiered belly." It was quite amusing. The skewers were brought out with a warming machine. This was a nice touch, allowing us to enjoy warm skewers while drinking slowly. These were also delicious. I really like pork belly for its sweet fat flavor. Before we knew it, our drinks had turned into Hakushu highballs...haha. Hakushu highballs are refreshing and tasty. I wanted something lighter to snack on, so we ordered steamed dumplings (shrimp). They bring a condiment set with soy sauce and black vinegar, which was a nice touch. The black vinegar was delicious! We were debating what to have as a final dish...but we weren't that hungry, so we settled on fried peanuts. It was a very affordable menu item, and the portion was surprisingly generous. Even though we didn't order a lot, we were satisfied and had plenty to drink...haha. The appetizers and dim sum were delicious, so I'm sure the rest of the dishes are also tasty. In that sense, it was a bit of a shame. If I have the chance to come back here for work, I'd like to visit again. Maybe with more people (moderately due to infection prevention) so we can try a variety of dishes together and have a lively time. Thank you for the meal!

Today, I had some errands in Toyosu. I suddenly felt like having Chinese food, so I looked it up and found this place. It's just a minute straight ahead from Toyosu Station on the Yurakucho Line, exit 4. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor of a building and it's new and clean. They are open all day on weekends, so you can visit anytime without worrying about the time, whether you missed lunch or want to have an early dinner. When I entered, I noticed that both the staff and customers were mostly non-Japanese, which was surprising. There seems to be private rooms in the back, as I saw a group of people coming out whom I didn't see on my floor. I later found out that there are two tables with a maximum of 8 people each. It seems great for small gatherings. What surprised me the most was the extensive menu for both drinks and dishes. You can easily place your order using the touch panel at your table, and they offer a wide range of drinks from popular ones to unfamiliar Chinese liquors. It must be fun to try them all. I played it safe with a black sugar plum wine soda mix... It came in a huge glass! This dynamism is truly continental. Impressive. They are known for their skewers, which are served on a table-top stove to keep them warm. Excellent. ★ Pork belly skewers @180 yen Three-layer belly...? No, it's the pork belly skewers. Haha. You can choose the level of spiciness from none, mild, medium, to very spicy, and you can order just one, which is convenient. The saltiness is just right and it looks like you can eat a lot of them. ★ Grilled chicken heart @200 yen It was softer than I imagined and had a very authentic taste. It seems addictive. ★ Spicy stir-fried clams @1,280 yen A generous amount of clams beautifully presented on a plate! The flavor of cilantro and green onions adds a nice touch. It has a taste that you can't replicate at home. The spiciness makes you want more drinks. ★ Stir-fried jumbo shrimp @1,980 yen Jumbo shrimp that are even more impressive than I imagined! The shiny sweet and savory sauce is amazing. It looks even more delicious in person than in the photos. And after eating it, I understand why, as it has a flavor that becomes addictive. ★ Xiao Long Bao @580 yen Sizzling and juicy Xiao Long Bao. The seasoning with black vinegar and soy sauce can be customized to your liking, which is great. ★ Sesame fried dumplings @470 yen I love these. Eating hot and freshly fried dumplings is a luxury... The filling has a very gentle flavor and I could eat as many as I want. In fact, I devoured 3 of them alone. Dangerous. Oh, I'm so full. It was delicious. Looking at the menu again, they offer courses ranging from 3,980 yen to 30,000 yen. They have a wide range of dishes from affordable options to dishes over 10,000 yen such as turtle cuisine and shark fin. Truly a wonderland of Chinese cuisine in Toyosu. I'm curious about the cost-effective drinking set too! The owner is fluent in Japanese and very kind with a smile. It's totally fine to visit alone. You should definitely give it a try!

On the night of May 28th, after a BBQ at WILDMAGIC in Toyosu, we went to Kushimon in front of Toyosu Station. This Chinese restaurant opened in January this year and I've been curious about it since then. Finally, I made my first visit. We started with a toast. I had a fresh lemon sour where you squeeze the lemon yourself. You order using a tablet, so you don't need to call the staff every time, which is nice. As the name suggests, we tried some grilled skewers. I forgot to take a picture of the menu, but I think it was grilled beef, which was tender and delicious. I also had a pink grapefruit sour, freshly squeezed and tasty. I can't remember the exact name of the dish, but we had yakisoba, which was simply delicious and a perfect way to end the meal. Since the other places around were already closed, I was grateful that this restaurant was open until late. As the name suggests, they have a wide variety of skewers and plenty of regular Chinese dishes, so next time I'll visit with a bigger appetite and try more dishes.

[Date] Visited on Sunday at 5:00 PM with one person. [Reservation] Made a reservation online. The restaurant was almost full, so it's better to make a reservation in advance. [Location] Just a 1-minute walk from Toyosu Station, very convenient access. [Interior] Tables. There are various sizes of tables, suitable for different occasions. [Order] Cheers with a Tsingtao beer! They have a wide variety of beers from around the world at reasonable prices. Other types of alcohol are also plentiful, so it's enjoyable for anyone you go with! The orders were as follows. - Stir-fried shrimp and vegetables: Large shrimp, cucumber, carrot, and wood ear mushrooms. Enjoy the crunchy and chewy texture with a delicious umami flavor. - Skewers: I chose garlic shoots and cauliflower. The spiciness goes well with alcohol. It's nice to have a variety of vegetables. - Spicy and sour thick vermicelli: Thick vermicelli with a tasty spicy and sour sauce. The cilantro is a nice accent. This is incredibly delicious. - Braised white fish: Surprisingly large! It's almost like a hot pot with plenty of volume and lots of fish and vegetables. It's very satisfying. Thank you for the meal! [Service] The staff were efficient and friendly. [Final thoughts] More like Chinese cuisine than Chinese food! You can enjoy authentic flavors from China!

On January 26, 2022, a Chinese restaurant opened in Toyosu. I decided to try it out after seeing the enticing menu item "Sichuan-style fish and vegetable stew" displayed outside. The restaurant, located on the second floor, is new and clean. There were quite a few customers, mostly Chinese, with few or no Japanese customers. This suggests that the restaurant may serve authentic Chinese cuisine. The ordering system seemed to be through a touch panel. Unfortunately, the Sichuan-style fish and vegetable stew that caught my eye on the outside menu was sold out. In fact, most of the items listed on the lunch menu board outside were sold out, leaving limited options. It seems checking the menu online for daily offerings is more reliable. I ended up ordering the "Suan Cai Yu" set meal for 1,080 yen (including tax), and two skewers of lamb ribs for 180 yen each (excluding tax). I chose the spicy option for the lamb skewers. The lamb skewers were tender and flavorful, with a nice spicy kick. The "Suan Cai Yu" set meal arrived, featuring a sour and spicy fish soup, soup, seasoned egg, pickles, rice, and almond jelly. The soup had a slightly sour taste with a hint of Sichuan peppercorn and chili, which I found delightful. The white fish and pickled vegetables added depth to the soup. The seasoned egg had a rich soy sauce flavor and was quite tasty. The soup was a typical Chinese egg drop soup, light and comforting. The pickles were standard, and the rice was mediocre. The restaurant offers a stamp card where collecting 12 stamps earns you a free set meal. Overall, I really enjoyed the "Suan Cai Yu" and the lamb skewers, making this restaurant possibly the best Chinese restaurant in Toyosu.

I came here after reading a review by Mairebi-sama. It's a local-style restaurant that seems to be popular among Chinese people. Although there are quite a few staff members, only a few of them are fluent in Japanese. But it's not a problem because you can order using a tablet. I ordered the lamb kalbi skewers and the beef tomato stew noodles. The flavors were surprisingly gentle and not overpowering. Especially the tomato stew noodles had a simple and honest taste, like something a mother from a Chinese rural village would make. The lamb was also delicious. The menu has many combinations that seem very local, but the food is actually quite comforting and easy to eat. When I used to frequently visit China for work, I was surprised by how they eat Chinese food every day. Of course, China is a large country, so maybe they cook various regional dishes at home. Unlike in Japan, where various cuisines are mixed together at home, in China, they mainly eat Chinese food every day. So, they must be used to gentle flavors that don't get boring even when eaten every day. The food here is close to that original taste. It has a bit of amateurishness, which actually adds to its charm. I'm sure it's a place of relaxation for those who have come from his country to Japan. In fact, more than half of the customers here were Chinese speakers. It was a quite enjoyable experience.

Newcomer opened on January 26th. Just a 2-minute walk from the station. A new restaurant opened on the second floor of Katsuya. To get to the second floor, you have to enter from a side street. Arrived almost at the same time as the opening, but was the first one there. Perhaps due to the influence of the prevention of the spread of the virus. The place is surprisingly spacious, with two private rooms in addition. All orders are placed through a tablet on the table. The menu has a variety of dishes, but there are only two types of noodles, which was disappointing for someone who was in the mood for yakisoba with five ingredients. The restaurant focuses on skewers, offering a wide variety of options including lamb, beef, and pork. Ordered two skewers, one lamb and one beef short rib. -- Skewers -- The one on the left is lamb, and the one on the right is beef short rib. Waited for about 20 minutes before they were finally served, probably because they were preparing the order. The lamb skewer is recommended over the beef, as it is much more tender. Both skewers are seasoned with shichimi and spices, with the lamb being significantly softer. The use of cumin is a bit more subtle compared to other places. -- Xiao Long Bao -- The taste is not bad, but the amount of soup is lacking and they are not served piping hot, which is disappointing. -- Yangzhou Fried Rice -- A bit on the pricier side at over 1,000 yen including tax. It's not exactly fluffy, but it's packed with ingredients and has just the right amount of saltiness. The portion is generous, so it seems to be intended for sharing as a final dish. The restaurant promotes itself as a Chinese izakaya, so it's better to go with a group rather than alone.

Before the live performance at Ariake Arena, I had lunch in Toyosu. I had boiled fish and a highball. The boiled fish was served in a huge bowl that could be shared, and it also came with a separate soup on the side.
