I discovered a new top-notch restaurant in Shimokitazawa!! It was featured on "Yoshida Rui's Sake Bar Wander" the other day! I happened to see it on TV and was intrigued, so I made a pilgrimage! In the trendy neighborhood of Shimokitazawa, I enjoyed authentic Taiwanese cuisine! ◉ Dishes ☆ Beef and Chive Stir-Fry ・ Chofan Nyozosu ¥1,200 A masterpiece of chives, bamboo shoots, and beef stir-fry! It's similar to the taste of green pepper beef, with the crispy texture of chives and the umami of beef combining to make it delicious! ☆ Spicy Mapo Tofu ¥850 A black-colored mapo with a strong spiciness and a hint of sansho pepper! It would surely be perfect as a rice accompaniment! The tofu texture is perfect, and the minced meat sauce is rich and personally, I love the taste! ☆ Oily Rice ・ Yufun ¥450 A steamed dish made with shiitake mushrooms, dried shrimp, and meat on glutinous rice! It feels like Taiwan's soul food! ☆ Dan Rice Noodles ・ Beefun ¥150 At ¥150, it's a steal! A popular dish that almost all customers order. The soup is light and perfect for finishing off the meal! The minced meat miso sauce on top is also great! ☆ Dan Zai Noodles ・ Tami ¥150 This is the noodle version! You can add a seasoned egg topping for an additional ¥110! I recommend enjoying it with a glass of 8-year-aged Shaoxing wine with plenty of ice. A great restaurant in Shimokitazawa with good cost performance, delicious food, and worth revisiting! They are open late, so it's a convenient spot to have in mind! Thank you for the delicious meal! 🍽 ◉ Address 2-6-5 Kitazawa, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo ◉ Access 2 minutes walk from Shimokitazawa Station ◉ Business hours 5:00 pm - 2:00 am Open on Sundays, all seats are non-smoking ◉ Budget ¥2,000 to ¥3,000

The atmosphere reminded me of a bustling night market in Taiwan, and I had a great time enjoying delicious food! However, I felt that overall, the prices could be a bit cheaper by about 100-200 yen for a town Chinese restaurant. I would rate it 3.4. The seasonal dish I had was particularly delicious!

Visited with my family to have Chinese food in Shimokitazawa. The interior was clean and there were a few other customers dining. Some were having a drinking party even though it was lunchtime. We ordered a few items a la carte since there was no lunch menu. The food was unexpectedly delicious. We were impressed!

I visited the restaurant from 4:00 pm. The atmosphere inside was lively with people who seemed to have been drinking since lunch gathered around a round table. Since it was just the first round, I only ordered three dishes: intestines, fried gizzards, and stir-fried vermicelli. All of them were delicious and went well with the drinks. I resisted the urge to drink Shaoxing wine and instead had beer and chuhai. We had 3 dishes, 12 drinks, and it only cost 10,000 yen. There is a smoking area near the exit, which seems convenient. Thank you for the meal.

It's really delicious... The portion size is not too big, so it's fun to order a variety of dishes. I ate a lot, but I'm still hungry, so I didn't even realize to take pictures before eating haha. I managed to take a picture of the sausage. It has a unique sweetness and is delicious. Everything I ate was delicious, so I recommend it.

I met up with an old friend after a long time and went bar hopping in Shimokitazawa. It had been over 10 years since I last visited Shimokitazawa, and the area had changed completely, now looking like a clean and unfamiliar town. On a drizzly night, we visited "Shintaipei" first and toasted with Taiwanese beer, pickled vegetables, and shrimp mayo. The pickled vegetables were huge for 400 yen, almost like the ones you buy at the supermarket. The taste was a bit strong and not really to my liking. The shrimp mayo was delicious, made with shrimp balls, apple, and pineapple mixed with mayonnaise. We also ordered an oyster omelette and stir-fried vegetables, had another round of beer each, and the total bill came to a little over 6000 yen. The prices made us feel like we were shopping at a supermarket, and we felt the impact of Japan's high cost of living that night.

The small plates are affordable, so you can order a lot. The taste is light, so it seems good for your health. The staff is friendly and the food comes out quickly, making it a very comfortable atmosphere. I was able to get a seat this time because of the unpredictable weather, but normally it's always full and hard to make a same-day reservation, so I guess I was lucky this time.

I wanted to eat delicious Taiwanese cuisine, so I decided to dine at this restaurant. To my surprise, they had pickled clams in soy sauce! I also ordered stir-fried water spinach. The pickled clams were cheap and tasty, but personally, I prefer the seasoning at Aoba in Shinjuku. I think it's because I've been eating that flavor since I was a child. The water spinach was also delicious. I thought the cost performance was good. I would like to come back with more people next time. Thank you for the meal. It was delicious.

New Taipe in Shimokitazawa is extremely popular. It's just a short walk from Shimokitazawa Station, but this place is always packed with customers, which is surprising. They offer a variety of seasonal dishes, but on this day, we decided to order whatever we felt like eating. Since the dishes are small, it's best to share with four people. We had a great time chatting and enjoying the meal together. - Stir-fried green beans - Stuffed intestines - Meat and bean sprouts - Karasumi daikon radish - Oyster omelette - Pickled clams - Stir-fried yellow chives and beef - Stir-fried eggplant - Okowa (sticky rice) After that, we drank whatever we felt like and maybe even had a small bowl of tantanmen for dessert. Regardless, it's a place where you can enjoy yourself and eat to your heart's content without spending more than 10,000 yen. It was truly a delightful experience. Thank you for the meal! ♡

Today, I had a great meal with an old friend I've known for over a quarter of a century. We ordered 13 dishes, beer, and I lost count of how many sours we had. Probably around 5 per person. We ate at a place called Wai Gaya, and even with all that food and drinks, it only came out to around 6,000 yen per person. The cost performance is impressive. I think the prices have gone up a bit since the old days, but still, it's worth it. I'm satisfied. I'll definitely come back again.

I used it for a gathering with friends. It's nice to be able to eat a variety of dishes in small or medium plates. I heard it was good to eat, so I tried the clam soy sauce marinated dish, but it was very heavy with garlic, making it a good side dish for alcohol. It's great that they stay open late. The Tanshimen noodles are only 150 yen, which is too good of a deal, so next time I'll go as a second stop and have a light snack before finishing with a soup soba.

After the second party at the drinking party, we rushed into this restaurant because everywhere was crowded and Taiwanese cuisine is interesting. Luckily, there was one table available and we were seated promptly! Once we placed our order, the dishes arrived quickly and the taste was so delicious, it felt like we were in Chinatown. I'm glad there's a restaurant like this nearby. I want to come back to eat again!

Shimokitazawa, New Taipei Shimokitazawa Main Store - Salted clam with garlic soy sauce, Beef and yellow chives stir-fry, Meat dumplings, Boiled fresh squid with Mongolian squid. Visited only for lunch on a holiday. Visited around 3 pm. The restaurant was bustling with people enjoying daytime drinking. I enjoyed authentic Taiwanese cuisine while drinking Taiwanese beer.

In Japan, it's quite rare to find a long-standing Taiwanese restaurant where there's always a line no matter when you go. I think I waited for about 30 minutes on this day (a holiday). I highly recommend trying the Taiwanese specialty "soy sauce-marinated clams" here. The raw clams soaked in soy sauce infused with garlic and ginger have a smooth and slippery texture, with a rich and deep flavor full of nourishing essence. This is the classic Taiwanese snack. It's incredibly delicious. There are also other Taiwanese dishes on the menu to enjoy. You can easily savor the reliably delicious Taiwanese cuisine. It's delicious, nostalgic, and makes you feel like you're in Taiwan!

It had been a few years since my last visit. This is the only place in the neighborhood where you can enjoy authentic Taiwanese cuisine. Since it was January 4th, the restaurant was full, and we had to wait outside for about 10 minutes. I started by quenching my thirst with a beer. After waiting for about 10 minutes, we were served with stir-fried pork with green peppers, deep-fried tofu rolls with shrimp, and stuffed intestines. The flavors were authentic. For dessert, we ordered fried noodles. Everything was delicious.

I never expected to find such delicious Taiwanese cuisine at such a reasonable price. I tried the oil rice, chicken with cashew nuts, and pork intestines, and all of them were outstanding. If you don't like greasy food, you might want to skip the oil rice, but the chicken with cashew nuts was a unique dish that perfectly balanced the sweetness and aroma of the cashew nuts. The pork intestines were surprisingly tender and refreshing, breaking stereotypes about organ meats. Overall, it was a delightful and satisfying meal.

I used this place for the first time alone. The interior is mainly table seating, but there are also about 5 counter seats, so it's okay to go alone. I had daikon mochi (500 yen), deep-fried minced squid (700 yen), and topped it off with tantanmen noodles (150 yen). I was torn between tantanmen noodles and tantan rice flour, but it's a great menu to enjoy when you want something light on your stomach. A great restaurant that is also easy on the wallet.

■Access: 3 minutes walk from Shimokitazawa Station on the Odakyu Line ■Number of visits: First time ■Purpose: Dinner with friends ■Overview: A Taiwanese cuisine specialty restaurant located in the dining district near Shimokitazawa Station. The concept is to enjoy authentic flavors similar to those found at street stalls in Taiwan at a reasonable price. The restaurant is open until midnight, making it convenient for late-night dining. ■Menu: Both course meals and a la carte options are available. There is a wide variety of single dishes, including many Taiwanese local dishes not commonly heard of in Japan. On this day, I enjoyed various dishes while drinking lightly with friends. The dishes we had were: - Fried noodles - Stir-fried pork with green peppers - Char siu pork - Mapo tofu ■Impressions: While searching for a place in Shimokitazawa where we could eat heartily at a late hour, we came across this restaurant. The interior of the restaurant exudes a lively atmosphere reminiscent of Taiwan, making dining a vibrant experience. After much deliberation over the extensive menu, we started with the popular dish, fried noodles. This unfamiliar dish refers to Taiwanese-style yakisoba and has a distinctive and delicious flavor. It can be enjoyed on its own or as a snack with alcohol, serving a versatile role. The mapo tofu, with a strong presence of Sichuan pepper, was another memorable dish. The perfect balance of numbing and savory flavors made it a great accompaniment to drinks. It's a must-order dish when visiting this restaurant. When looking for a place to eat late at night in the Shimokitazawa area, this restaurant is likely to be at the top of the list. Thank you for the delicious meal. ■Rating at the time of visit: 3.49

I visited the restaurant late at night and was surprised by how popular it was. It was almost full. The restaurant is conveniently located near the station. The interior is spacious with plenty of seating. I started with a beer and carefully looked through the extensive menu. I ordered the homemade sausage-like dish, stir-fried eggplant with basil, and fried cartilage. The sausage-like dish had a Taiwanese flavor with a hint of star anise, which I really liked. It had a sweet taste that paired well with beer. The stir-fried eggplant was delicious, with a creamy texture that I enjoyed. Lastly, I ordered the yakisoba, thinking it would be a small portion due to the low price, but was surprised by the generous serving size. It was a great value for money. The dishes were served hot, and there were not many spicy options, making it suitable for those who don't like spicy food. I arrived around 10 pm and left after 11 pm, and the restaurant was still full. It's a popular place, so I recommend making a reservation.

I felt like going on a trip to Taiwan and visited "New Taipei" here. First, I toasted with Taiwanese beer. I snacked on the classic soy sauce-marinated clams. They were packed with garlic and so delicious! The beer went down smoothly. I tend to choose the same menu items when I come here. Daikon mochi, stuffed intestines, fried chicken livers, oyster omelette, stir-fried eggplant, and oily rice. Everything was delicious.

I went to try authentic Taiwanese cuisine and it was like stepping into a different world. I was looking for a casual lunch, but they didn't have a lunch menu so I had to choose from the regular menu. Normally, I would have ordered Lu Rou Fan, but I decided to try the Taiwanese Mapo Tofu instead. It was very spicy but the taste was good. Unfortunately, it wasn't a lunch menu item so rice was not included and extra rice was an additional charge. The Mapo Tofu for 1,000 yen was reasonable, but the 600 yen for rice seemed expensive to me.
