I arrived at the restaurant while keeping an eye on the rain. As soon as I climbed the stairs to the 2nd floor of the apartment, Amami was on the left. I aimed for the limited 5 servings of anago-donburi on the first floor, but since it wasn't on the lunch menu, I ordered the sushi lunch instead. Well, it's not exactly a lunch I had in mind, but it wasn't a complete miss either. The coffee served in a teacup was interesting, but as someone who prefers strong coffee, I was a bit unsatisfied. However, considering the reasonable price of 1200 yen, it might be worth trying at least once.

■Shop Name: Sushi Restaurant Amami ■Location: Iriya Station ■Budget: 5000-6000 yen >Ordered Menu ・Appetizer (Simmered sardines) ・Salad ・Assorted sashimi (abalone, bonito, shrimp, squid, sea bream) ・Grilled sanma (Pacific saury) ・Assorted tempura (shrimp, scallop, conger eel) ・Nigiri sushi (shrimp, salmon roe, herring roe, flounder, tuna lean, tuna medium fatty, cucumber roll, tuna roll, egg) I was invited by a friend to a town sushi restaurant in Iriya and visited. The restaurant had plenty of counter seats and many table seats, accommodating a large number of people. It's a bit of a walk from the station, but if you happen to be nearby, please give it a try. We ordered the above (friend's reserved course meal). I will review the most impressive items. >Grilled Sanma A grilled version of namero, which is finely chopped fresh fish mixed with miso. It looks similar to tsukune or yakitori at first glance. It has a good aroma and a slightly charred umami flavor from grilling. It pairs very well with sake. >Nigiri Sushi The rice portion is quite large. It may be difficult to eat in one bite, especially for women. However, I think the chef's generous spirit in serving these nigiri is commendable. It may be very satisfying for children who have a hearty appetite. The toppings were honestly average, but slightly above average overall. The medium fatty tuna is not too fatty and easy to eat, so I recommend it. And of course, the tamago (sweet omelette) at sushi restaurants is always good! That's all. I will continue to explore town sushi restaurants! Thank you for the meal. I will definitely come back.

I requested the Chef's Choice Course for 10,000 yen. The course included a salad with shrimp and scallops, sweet simmered fish, assorted sashimi, grilled fish, tempura, sushi, miso soup, and vanilla ice cream. The sashimi, especially the shrimp and squid, were sweet and delicious. The tempura shrimp and scallops had a strong and tasty flavor. The course was very generous and filling. The sushi rice was a bit too large, but considering the price, I was overall satisfied. They offered a variety of Japanese sake, including Kikuhime series, Tateyama, and Koshino Kanbai, which were mostly light and dry. When I left the restaurant, it started raining unexpectedly, but the chef kindly gave me an umbrella. The customers at the counter seats seemed to be regulars, which made sense.

A homey sushi restaurant in the downtown area. I made a reservation for the table course for dinner and arrived at 5:30 pm. By the time I finished my meal around 6:30 pm, there were about 5 other groups that had come in. The food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable, so I added a sea urchin gunkan to my course. The sushi had a generous amount of rice, so if you're a small eater, you might want to ask for less rice. The course included appetizers, a Japanese salad, a sashimi platter, tempura, and a variety of sushi, plus sea urchin. It ended with a miso soup and vanilla ice cream.

In this area, Saito boasts overwhelming name recognition when it comes to sushi restaurants... On November 3rd, Culture Day (formerly Emperor Meiji's birthday), the number of open shops is sparse (^ω^)... As I was walking north on Kanasugi Street, I noticed the sign of this shop and decided to enter. The shop is located on the second floor of an apartment building, so if it weren't for the sign, I might not have noticed it. There are counter seats and table seats, and I was seated at the counter. ■What I had - Lunch Chirashi Sushi 880 yen It's a well-balanced seafood bowl. The tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette) also has a good portion and is delicious. Several regular customers were chatting casually with the owner, creating a relaxed atmosphere where local regulars can feel comfortable. (It's not exclusive)

I am shocked that the article I posted has disappeared due to my mistake... (´;ω;`) I don't know if it can be restored (/_;) I will try to switch my feelings!! I visited Amami for lunch. It caught my eye as I happened to pass by. It is located a 5-minute walk from JR Uguisudani Station South Exit and a 5-minute walk from Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line Iriya Station Exit 3. It is on the 2nd floor up the stairs. The interior has a counter and table seats, and the space is quite spacious, so you can enjoy your meal in a relaxed atmosphere. Lunch 11:30-13:30 Dinner 17:30-23:30 Closed on Mondays Lunch menu: - Limited Chirashi Lunch ¥880 (15 servings) - Amami Gozen ¥1300 - Lunch Nigiri ¥1200 (10 servings) I ordered the Nigiri. First, the salad came. Then came the Nigiri. There were no unusual ingredients, but they were all delicious. Pickles and miso soup are included, and you can choose between coffee or ice cream after the meal. ¥1200 is a reasonable price. The most popular lunch menu seems to be the Chirashi. I was surprised that the toothpick was a bonito tail! How stylish~ haha The chef was very friendly. I would like to go again. I am curious about the various menu items like sashimi and creative dishes if I go at night.

Night snacks and sushi. 2-3 groups of customers, choosing a table for 2. In the mood for a long time no see table and snacks. Salad, tempura, simmered dishes, ankimo, shirako, and other izakaya menu items, along with 2 servings of assorted sushi. Served on a large plate, with large pieces of sashimi sushi. It's convenient for casual neighborhood izakaya use. It seems that if you visit the nearby Ono Terazaki Shrine, you can become a Tora-san. In Amami, Shitaya.

I ordered the 8800 yen course, which is the most expensive course in the restaurant. First dish was a salad with finely shredded cabbage and several types of sashimi like scallops, squid, and shrimp. The dressing was lightly seasoned and some parts didn't have much flavor. Second dish was a sashimi platter with tuna, yellowtail, shellfish, button shrimp, and squid. They were all delicious but I wished there was more. Third dish was tempura with flaky white fish and juicy prawns. It was tasty but I wish there were options other than just salt. Fourth dish was sushi and miso soup with tekka maki, kappa maki, and sweet tamago, along with nigiri like fatty tuna, lean tuna, squid, herring roe, shrimp, and salmon roe. By this point, I was quite full. The sushi was a bit on the expensive side but still reasonable for non-conveyor belt sushi. Fifth dish was vanilla ice cream. Overall, the dishes were simple and classic, making it a satisfying meal. The hospitality was excellent, with the owner and staff being very polite and considerate. It's hard to give a definitive rating considering these factors. I just wish it was a bit cheaper.

A friend who lives in this area recommended this sushi restaurant. I went there with them. We sat at the counter and toasted with beer. Personally, I always want to eat sushi when I go to a sushi restaurant, but if it's not a conveyor belt sushi place, I always start with sashimi. The sashimi was delicious, of course. After the sashimi, we left the sushi selection to the chef. The rice and the fish were both delicious. The chef was also very friendly. This restaurant is one of the top sushi places in this price range. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

I have been continuing my daytime drinking series at sushi restaurants in the neighborhood. The restaurant I ended up at while surfing for sushi was Sushidokoro Amami. It is a sushi restaurant in Negishi, Taito-ku, and this time I got off at Inaricho Station and walked there. Since I have no sense of direction in this area, I was feeling excited. Before reaching the restaurant, I suddenly saw a long line. I wondered what it was, and when I went to the front of the line, it seemed to be a store. When I searched on my smartphone, it turned out to be a place with a huge and cheap seafood bowl for 1050 yen. About 50 people were waiting in line. While I would have wanted to try it if I were younger, I am satisfied with a moderate amount now (laughs). From there, I arrived at Amami in 3-4 minutes. There was about 15 minutes until the opening time, so I basked in the sun. There was a Muay Thai gym poster on the glass door of the restaurant. Actually, one of the gyms is in Abiko. It used to be in front of Tenno-dai Station, and they used to have a Thai restaurant as well. I was the first-time poster, and the next person will stop posting before I do. I wonder if this sushi restaurant is related to that? I entered the restaurant on time. There was a cherry tree in the center of the restaurant, and it was already blooming. Probably because it's warm. The head chef seemed to be preparing something in the corner. He was looking down, but when I entered, he raised his head and greeted me. I was shown to my seat, and I sat in the center of the counter. As usual, I ordered a bottle of beer and tea. While waiting, I looked at the outside menu, and what caught my eye was the smoked bonito. I already had bonito for the first time the other day, and it was good. "Is this smoked bonito like straw-grilled or smoked?" It turned out to be the head chef's unique way, and the production method is a trade secret (laughs). I ordered it. Bonito at this time of year is very refreshing and delicious. It didn't seem to have anything to do with straw or smoke. I decided to have only one dish as a snack and about 10 pieces of sushi. I opened a beer and chatted while waiting. I was curious about Muay Thai, so I asked why that poster was there. The head chef's daughter is a world champion Muay Thai fighter. She has won 4 titles in 3 weight classes, surpassing them all. Was there a Japanese woman like that? "Look back for a moment." I turned around. There was a big picture hanging on the wall. She's beautiful. I'll leave her blog link here. ↓ http://ameblo.jp/littletigerj/ And please look at the photo on the far right of the cover. You see the word "Amami" on the trunks, right? She has another world title fight at the end of this month in a different weight class. With that, I felt a sense of closeness. As for the sushi, they had 1. flounder 2. medium fatty tuna 3. bonito, good selection of ingredients. What's most enjoyable about the neighborhood sushi series is that these kinds of surprises come out smoothly. It's like a little surprise. Most of the sushi restaurant reviews on Tabelog are for lunch sushi. Lunch sushi is good too, but I think it's my duty to showcase the best of the restaurant on Tabelog, and I want to make it my life's work. I want to show the restaurant's true ability, which is hard to imagine from the reviews before I post, and I hope it will be useful for someone. Although there was no 4. squid 5. mackerel 6. cuttlefish, I had about 10 pieces of sushi, one by one. 4, 5, and 6 are my favorite trio. 7. saury 8. conger eel skin 9. salmon roe 10. whelk 0. pickled radish skin 0. rolled omelette I had a total of 10 pieces with snacks included. It was delicious. Lastly, I added 11. ark shell and finished. While eating, I was taught about the sightseeing spots around Negishi. It was a great restaurant. I will definitely come back here. The atmosphere was good, the ingredients were good, and the cost performance was excellent. I was completely satisfied.

12/4 (Sunday). Following the delicious goldfish, we decided to have a light drink at a goldfish bar in Ueno after visiting the famous oyster restaurant in Yanagawa. Since the Italian restaurant we wanted to try was full, we remembered a sushi restaurant in Iriya that we hadn't visited in a while. The restaurant is called "Amami." We took a taxi to Iriya and sat at the counter. We started with a sashimi platter as a toast. The interior of the restaurant is very stylish. Upon the recommendation of the lively chef, we ordered crab, which was listed as market price and turned out to be 1,000 yen. The crab was packed with meat and flavor. We also enjoyed grilled shirako and eel, which are S's favorites. The shrimp at this restaurant is a must-try, and I personally love the mackerel. S ordered a sushi roll, which she loves. Overall, we had a great time and ended up drinking quite a bit since we had the next day off.

I found this shop while walking. The menu board outside was decorated with beautiful flowers. Inside, there were flowers arranged elegantly on the large counter. A lady came out from the kitchen and served tea, and I thought she must be the one arranging the flowers. The spacious interior had a soft and welcoming atmosphere. There was a large curtain with words of encouragement hanging in the seating area. I borrowed the restroom and discovered the owner's hobby - there were many Tiger Mask posters, showing a love for wrestling. There were also favorite poems displayed. Pictures of customers and family were lively and active. Back in the shop, I saw a sushi chef at work. The lunch menu had many limited items, such as sushi set for 1200 yen (limited to 10 servings), chirashi bowl for 880 yen (limited to 15 servings), sashimi set for 1000 yen (limited to 10 servings), Amami meal with steamed pot for 1300 yen (limited to 10 servings), and seasonal special menu of salmon and salmon roe parent-child bowl for 800 yen (limited to 10 servings). I decided on the chirashi sushi without looking at the menu inside. There were four photos on the menu inside, but I should have checked the seven lunch options outside. The chirashi sushi and Amami meal were ordered at other tables, so I missed out. The set came with salad, pickles, and miso soup. It had horse mackerel and salmon roe, looking delicious. The amount of sashimi was not too much, but it was refreshing and I finished all the rice. It was unusual to have kanpyo (gourd strips) on top. I would describe it as a feminine chirashi sushi. After the meal, ice cream or coffee was included. When I asked for ice cream, they also refilled my tea. The ice cream here was also refreshing. The restaurant had a strong image of a sushi place, but the feminine atmosphere was quite impressive. The meal set required preparing various items, so it's recommended for those with extra time. There was a customer who waited for about 20 minutes.

Uguisudani, Iriya, and Shitaya are neighborhoods with "谷" (valley) in their names, but they are not actually located in low-lying areas. However, in terms of being trendy downtown areas, they are highly regarded. The local people have a unique way of speaking, more like Edo dialect than standard Japanese, which adds a rich flavor to the area. Therefore, in such a neighborhood, a sushi restaurant that has gained acceptance from the local residents and has become a part of the community is essential for long-term success. This restaurant can be described as a place that has been honed by the local atmosphere.

After drinking quite a bit at a nearby izakaya, we all came to this restaurant for our final meal. The place is beautiful and spacious, with a few solo customers here and there. It seems to be a beloved spot among locals. And you know what? The owner looks just like Takakura Ken! And the chef looks just like the comedian Cool Poko! It's uncanny! I wanted to take a picture, but I resisted the urge. Sitting at the counter, I sipped on plum wine soda and enjoyed a sashimi platter. My companions were too full, so I ordered sushi for myself (how greedy of me). I asked for the chef's recommendations, and out came Thai snapper, whelk, flatfish, and eel. The Thai snapper was firm, the shellfish were fresh and delicious, and the eel was tender with no hint of fishiness. And the rice! Each grain was firm and had a strong presence. The texture of the fish was chewy and substantial, matching perfectly with the rice. It felt like the grains were unraveling in my mouth as I ate. Delicious! I learned that the owner's daughter is a Muay Thai fighter known as Little Tiger, who holds two world titles. They showed us a DVD of her fights on the TV in the restaurant. I never expected to watch fights at a sushi counter. I love how unpretentious this place is! Little Tiger won by KO in the 4th round - so cool and impressive! After the fight, she actually came to the restaurant, let us hold her championship belt, signed a magazine for us. She's petite but so cute, yet incredibly strong - Little Tiger is amazing! I'm a fan now!

Located about a 5-minute walk from the station, on the 1st floor of a sophisticated building. The clean and calm atmosphere is very pleasant. I was originally taken there by a female friend, but now it's a valuable place where even women can relax safely. The sushi is of course delicious, and the classic appetizers and seasonal dishes are all impressively delicately seasoned. With a variety of reasonably priced options, it's fun to consult with the chef and enjoy different dishes while sipping on sake or wine. Whether you're alone, with your spouse, friends, or for a small family gathering, the service is just right, not too close or too distant. On Tuesdays and Fridays, they have Ladies' Day where drinks are half price, which is greatly appreciated for those who want to drink and eat a lot. Personally, this is a sushi restaurant that I want to cherish in the future.

On a certain day in April 2010, two of us visited this restaurant for the first time. We arrived after 7 pm and found that there were no other customers. The restaurant had a L-shaped counter with 10 seats and a raised tatami seating area, and we were seated in the middle of the counter. We ordered the following items: [Appetizers] - Bonito sashimi - Crab gratin - Salmon with miso paste [Nigiri Sushi] - Tuna lean - Tuna medium fatty - Squid - Squid with squid liver - Salmon roe - Tamago (egg) - Tekka maki (tuna roll) - Kappa maki (cucumber roll) [Additional] - Kohada (gizzard shad) - Anago (conger eel) [Drinks] - Barley shochu (1 glass) - Cold sake (1 go) - Plum wine (300ml) The total bill came to 11,050 yen. The nigiri sushi didn't leave a strong impression - not particularly good, bad, or cheap. The crab gratin was delicious and suitable for an izakaya. It seems that you need to spend a certain amount of money to truly enjoy good quality nigiri sushi. Since the restaurant is not easily accessible, I probably won't be returning. Interestingly, the owner of this restaurant looks just like the actor Takakura Ken. It might be worth visiting once just to see the resemblance. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. Thank you.
