I saw this at Haneda Airport, but the expiration date was only 2 days, so I didn't buy it. However, I found it at Daimaru Tokyo and couldn't resist buying it! It's incredibly delicious for chestnut lovers! The top chestnut paste is delicious, but the chestnut and sweet potato paste at the bottom is also amazing. There are candied chestnuts inside, which adds to the deliciousness. If only the expiration date was longer, I would love to bring this as a souvenir for others to try. It's a shame.

I have been really curious about this place for a while, but there are so many other shops around that it's easy to get lost. It was already famous, but recently it has been featured in various media one after another, so if you miss the timing, it might be sold out. It calms down quickly though, and it's not usually sold out by lunchtime, so I think it's okay. It has a faint marking of 9 equal parts, but there are no actual cuts. Now, onto the taste... it's delicious!! It's amazingly delicious, especially the Mont Blanc. It's surprisingly good! You can easily finish a whole box by yourself. It's light yet rich and easy to eat! Considering the portion size, the price is reasonable and that makes me happy. If you're hesitating, you should definitely buy it!

There is a Kamakura Goro main store Tokyo Daimaru store on the first floor of Daimaru Tokyo store at Tokyo Station. It is located right near the entrance on the first floor. I usually purchase the Kamakura Hangetsu Sanjiki Assortment, but today when I visited the store, they had a limited-time peach flavor available, so I bought that instead. The product is called Hangetsu, which means half moon, and it is shaped like a half moon. It is easier to eat compared to a full moon. The crispy texture of the rice cracker with a hint of sweetness cream filling, combined with a subtle peach aroma, made it a delicious treat. The rice cracker dough is also baked with its own flavor, enhancing the overall taste experience.

This is a sweet treat filled with large chestnuts covered in chestnut paste. The dessert does not have any dough sandwiched in between. The exact price is unknown as it is a souvenir, but with its size of approximately 11cm x 11cm, it offers good value for money. If you are looking for something sweet with a strong chestnut flavor, you will be satisfied with this dessert. It is made by famous brands like Tokyo Banana and Nenrinya.

When it comes to Mont Blanc sweets, people usually think of Western-style desserts, but there are also Mont Blanc sweets made at traditional Japanese confectionery shops. One such shop is Kamakura Goro in Kamakura, and they also have a store at Daimaru Tokyo. Their signature sweet is called Hangetsu, which I usually buy as a gift, but today I bought the Mont Blanc for myself. The staff seemed to recognize me because I often buy their sweets, and they mentioned that I also buy their fresh sweets, so I clarified that this one was for myself. The Mont Blanc, named "Kohane," looks beautiful and has a great sense of naming. It looked so delicious that I couldn't resist buying it. As you can see in the photo, it has a square shape with a wave-like pattern on the surface. There are small cuts to guide you on how to divide it into small squares, but it's so soft that it crumbles when you try to cut it. So, I just scooped it up with a spoon and enjoyed it as it is. It has a distinct chestnut flavor and even contains chestnut pieces inside, which adds a nice touch. I think it's slightly lighter than the Mont Blanc desserts at Western-style pastry shops. I didn't get tired of eating it, even when I had a lot.

The Kamakura Half Moon waffle comes in a pack of 6 and has a delightful crispy texture. The caramel flavor and texture are outstanding. The crunchy chocolate sandwich is delicious, with a thick slice of chocolate adding a luxurious touch. The rabbit character on the waffle is also charming.

I felt like having something sweet at Tokyo Station, so I decided to look around. I found a place where I could buy some sweet treats that I could eat while walking. The chestnut flavor was simple and mellow, allowing me to savor the natural taste of chestnuts. It wasn't overly sweet, but more about enjoying the texture of the chestnuts. The hidden chestnut dumplings left a lasting impression with their flavor. And for less than 1000 yen, it was a good deal.

I often buy souvenirs at Daimaru because it's close to the Shinkansen station. After watching the NHK drama "Kamakura-dono," I became interested in Kamakura, so I bought some New Year's gifts here. I also bought a chestnut Mont Blanc cake for home. It was not too sweet and very elegant. It went perfectly with Japanese tea and was delicious.

I usually buy souvenirs from a wagashi shop at Haneda Airport on my way back home, but this time I purchased one during my trip and enjoyed it at my hotel. The Mont Blanc from the wagashi shop is becoming a popular Tokyo souvenir. The apple-shaped wagashi is a must-try!

I purchased the Mont Blanc from Kamakura Gorou and "Koharubi." The balance between the whipped cream and Mont Blanc is exquisite and delicious. It would be even better if there were more size options for convenience. There are no complaints about the quality at this reasonable price.

At Daimaru Tokyo, there is a shop called Kamakura Gorou. As the name suggests, the main store is located on Komachi Street in Kamakura. Today, I was curious about the Mont Blanc made by a Japanese confectionery shop, so I visited. The Japanese confectionery version of Mont Blanc, called "Kohan," looks like a normal Mont Blanc except for its square shape. It uses ingredients such as sweet potatoes and chestnut paste, giving it a refined taste with a Japanese twist. Here in Kamakura, I tried the Thickest Chocolate, which is filled with the popular half-moon pastry. My first impression was that it was quite firm, but you can enjoy the flavor of the chocolate. The packaging is cute with a rabbit design. Thank you for the meal.

The joy of being able to get Kamakura Gorou's Mont Blanc at Daimaru Tokyo right next to Tokyo Station! The store has its main branch on Kamakura Komachi Street, and in Tokyo, you can find it at Daimaru Tokyo, Seibu Ikebukuro, Asagaya, and Odakyu Machida stores, all conveniently located near train stations. For those who find it difficult to go shopping in person, there is also an online shop for ordering. The Mont Blanc from this traditional Japanese confectionery "Kohan" is divided into 9 pieces, allowing you to taste plenty of chestnuts from any angle. It consists of a base of sweet potato and chestnut paste, diced candied chestnuts, cream, and layers of chestnut paste on top, making it a must-try for chestnut lovers. Inside, there are large chestnuts that are soft and delicious. The perfect size and taste make it easy for one person to finish it in one go. Other products like Kamakura Hangetsu and Mizu Anmitsu also look delicious, and the seasonal limited edition Kamakura Gorou's Konatsu Jure seems refreshing and would make a great souvenir. Among the many souvenirs at Tokyo Station, the one that caught my eye the most was this. I am a Mont Blanc hunter after all. It is 10x10x3cm in size and costs 999 yen including tax. I am not a big eater, but I thought I could eat this all by myself. However, I ended up sharing it with my family. It is called a Mont Blanc wagashi, but taste-wise, it is not much different from a Western confectionery. It uses white bean paste, so maybe that's why it's considered a Japanese confectionery? I found it delicious, but my family was very satisfied and thought it was extremely delicious. The expiration date was until the next day, which was good. However, you have to be careful when carrying it around because it needs to be kept horizontal. The popular baked sweets at Tokyo Station last longer, but I noticed that many of them use margarine or shortening, despite being relatively expensive.

While strolling around Daimaru Tokyo, I found this and decided to purchase it. It was my first time trying it, and it was not a sponge cake but rather a chestnut sweet, truly a chestnut delight. The chestnut paste was fluffy and very delicious. The quality for this price is amazing. ★

I bought a Mont Blanc recommended by an acquaintance. It is called "Kohan" from Kamakura Goro Honten, a popular Japanese confectionery shop in Kamakura. It has a moderate sweetness with chestnut paste and cream, and contains finely chopped chestnuts. It is delicious! In conclusion, how about trying this Mont Blanc made by a Japanese confectionery shop as a unique twist on a Western dessert?

It had been a while since I last visited Tokyo, so I decided to get souvenirs from here. I was afraid they would be sold out by the time I left, so I bought them as soon as I arrived. This time, I got three: one for my home, one for my sister, and one for my senior at work as a small birthday present. They even included ice packs for each one, which was very thoughtful. However, they were quite heavy. I stored them in the refrigerator on the ground floor and picked them up before leaving. It was a great idea! When I got home, my husband and I tried them. The sweetness was elegant as always, with a strong taste of alcohol, making it a mature flavor. We finished it in an instant... I wish they would open a branch in Nagoya, but maybe the fact that I can only have it at such intervals makes it even more special. I look forward to the next time I can enjoy it.

Kamakura is amazing! I saw a new product that I've never seen before, so I had to buy it and try it. I love trying new products, so my rule is to always buy a small amount. The description said it's a half-moon pastry with chocolate, cookies, and soybeans inside, all sandwiched together. I was hesitant, but ended up buying one. When I tried it, I couldn't bite into it easily, so I had to break it with my hands. But it was so delicious! I wish I had bought more than one bag.

Being in Tokyo and being able to eat at a famous restaurant in Kamakura is a true pleasure. In the summer, I prefer something cold that I can easily swallow without chewing too much. This anmitsu has a cooling effect, the honey is light, the red bean paste is not too sweet, just the right balance of flavors. It went down smoothly! It was delicious ^_^

First visit in August 2021 (No.2934) On the day, I was gathering material in the Marunouchi & Otemachi area, but I didn't reach the planned number of materials for the day, so I'm making up for it here. This shop is operated by "Kamakura-za Co., Ltd." established in 1990. After returning home, I realized that the main store here has already been visited and reviewed. I purchased the Peanut Half Moon (6 pieces) for 648 yen, which is said to be a summer specialty. I thought it would have a similar texture to Fugetsudo's gaufres from its appearance and the cream inside, but it was quite hard, like a thin version of Kawara Senbei. Inside, there is a light peanut cream, and the outside is a peanut senbei baked with peanuts. Thank you for the meal.
