After seeing an art exhibition at the National Museum of Modern Art, I stumbled upon this charming shop. The entrance had a ceramic tank with goldfish swimming around, which was adorable. The underground interior was surprisingly spacious and had a nice atmosphere. I placed my order with the master chef's grandson. After much deliberation, I decided on the seafood sauce-covered fried rice. I was in the mood for rice. First, the soup arrived. It had a wonderful aroma and tasted delicious. On a cold day, warm food is a delight. I was looking forward to the fried rice even more. When it arrived, it was egg fried rice topped with plenty of chunky seafood and vegetable sauce. The taste was amazing. The chunks of seafood added a great texture, and various vegetables were used, including lotus root, carrots, and celery. The contrast between the fluffy fried rice and the sauce was excellent. Just like with the soup, the flavor was well-balanced with a good broth and not too greasy. It was the first time I was so impressed by fried rice. I was pleasantly surprised. For dessert, I had almond jelly, which was simply delicious. Next time, I'd like to try the shrimp spring rolls recommended by the grandson. Since it's a high-end restaurant at night, I'll enjoy the restaurant's flavors during lunch. Thank you for the meal. I will visit again.

Once seated, we were kept waiting for a long time. The simmered soba that I ordered came within 10 minutes, so I recommend it for those in a hurry. However, it was not very tasty, the soup tasted like it was just watered down. I couldn't taste any collagen in it. Even when it cooled down, it didn't form a film on top, so it was a bit disappointing. My husband's dan dan noodles arrived about 25 minutes later, and my son's cold tomato noodles arrived about 35 minutes later. The cold tomato noodles were delicious. I don't remember the exact prices, but the simmered soba was around 1300 yen, the dan dan noodles (large and spicy) were around 1400 yen, and the cold tomato noodles were around 1800 yen. We visited on a weekday at 1:30 PM.

I am from China, and the best Beijing dish I have ever eaten is the sweet and savory sauce with large prawns. I highly recommend trying it as part of a course or a la carte. The appetizers have simple yet refined flavors that never get boring. This time, I had a seasonal soup with jasmine flowers, which added a lovely fragrance. Despite having 9 dishes, I didn't feel heavy or bloated at all. I often encounter famous people by chance. Whenever I visit the New National Art Museum, I always stop by this restaurant.

A hidden Chinese restaurant located underground near Blue Bottle Coffee, connecting Roppongi and Nogizaka. The entrance may look dark like a snack bar during the day, but once you enter, the lighting is good and it feels like a cozy hideaway with flowers in the center. The use of lighting is nice, and the service is good with no issues in guidance. The menu changes daily. The cashew nuts stir-fry was a bit salty, like table salt. Sea salt or rock salt would bring out more flavor. The richness that lingers on the palate might be from seasoning. Overall, it was delicious, but personally, I'm sensitive to artificial seasonings. It was not crowded before 1 pm on a weekday, so it was nice to enjoy a leisurely meal in a spacious setting. Thank you for the meal!

I was interested in Chef Sun's cooking, so I visited during lunchtime. The food wasn't greasy at all and had a gentle flavor. I think you can eat a lot without worrying even if you're on a diet. The appetizer, which was something like chicken tsukune(?), was surprisingly delicious. Even though I'm not interested in chicken, I was happy and finished it. I think it's very satisfying to relax and eat delicious Chinese food in a cozy atmosphere. However, I don't think the cost performance is that great, maybe because I added shrimp spring rolls. It seems like the daily limited specials would offer better value, but they were already sold out when I visited, so I couldn't order them in the end. I recommend this restaurant based on the taste of the food.

Classic and charming entrance to a Chinese restaurant. The restaurant is located underground, with a slightly dimmed and calm atmosphere. High-quality furnishings are subtly displayed. The staff's service was pleasant and friendly. The sound carries, so it can be a bit distracting if there are noisy people at other tables. Ankake Chahan: A vibrant ankake with plenty of vegetables and seafood. Broccoli, Chinese cabbage, lotus root, zucchini, and various green vegetables provide a crunchy texture. It also includes mushrooms, shrimp, squid, and scallops. The ankake is luxurious, while the fried rice base has a simple flavor, creating a well-balanced dish. Served with a flavorful soup with dried baby sardines. Tantanmen: The menu indicates it is very spicy and cannot be adjusted. However, the sesame aroma and rich soup make the spiciness more subtle than expected. The spiciness gradually builds up as you eat, with the curly noodles mixing well with the rich soup and minced meat miso, resulting in a bold flavor. Water Dumplings: Flavored water dumplings that do not require soy sauce. The thick and chewy skin holds a smooth, pink filling, providing a satisfying meaty texture and flavor. The seasoning was just right.

【Points】1. A popular restaurant in Roppongi with over 200 reviews. 2. The tantanmen is the most popular dish, but prices are generally high. 3. The service may not be great temporarily due to a shortage of staff. 【Trigger/Purpose】I was looking for a lunch spot around Roppongi and decided on this restaurant by sorting through reviews on Tabelog based on the number of reviews. 【Location】About an 8-minute walk from Roppongi Station. The restaurant is located underground, so it may be a bit hard to find. 【Atmosphere/Seating/Customer base/Wi-Fi/Toilet/Smoking/Baby strollers, etc.】The restaurant is underground and the interior is a bit dim. There are many seats, but on this day, despite available seats, customers were lining up, possibly due to a shortage of staff. The customers were mostly older, including madams visiting the National Art Center, couples, and middle-aged salarymen. There are no elevators, so I don't think baby strollers can be brought in. 【Food】(Reason for ordering, taste, portion, wait time, what others ordered, etc.) - Grandson Chief's Tantanmen (Extra Spicy) (¥1,200) Since all the prices were a bit high, I ordered the cheapest option, the ¥1,200 tantanmen. The menu stated "Extra Spicy" with no option to adjust the spice level, which made me a bit nervous. However, when I tried it, it wasn't as spicy as expected, and even someone like me who isn't good with spicy food managed to finish it. The food took a long time to arrive, possibly due to a shortage of staff. Also, water didn't come unless we asked for it. There was hot tea on the table, but it didn't go well with the spicy tantanmen. 【Service】As mentioned above, it was clear that there was a shortage of staff. Additionally, the female staff at the cashier and in the dining area were a bit brusque, it would have been better if they were a bit more polite. Later, a manager? named Grandson came and he was extremely cheerful and fun. 【Rating at the time of posting】 Rating: ★3.50 Reviews: 217 people

I've always been curious about the restaurant near the art museum. It's a Chinese restaurant that serves delicious food at a reasonable price. The cost performance is average. The soup is especially delicious. The meat is seasoned well with Sichuan pepper, which I personally like, but it may not be suitable for those who don't like spices or prefer Japanese-style Chinese food over authentic Chinese flavors.

It was my mother-in-law's 26th death anniversary. We visited her grave in Roppongi with my father-in-law, son, and his family, totaling 6+1 people. Afterwards, we parked at Midtown and had a reservation for lunch. The meal included appetizers, soup, shrimp spring rolls, mixed vegetables, sweet and sour pork, and mango pudding. The appetizer with two slices of meat was elegant and delicious. The famous shrimp spring rolls were full of shrimp and had a nice texture. The mixed vegetables had a subtle but refined flavor. The sweet and sour pork was a bit tough. The mango pudding was cold and tasty.

The lunch spot visited during the tour served sweet and sour soup, pickled meatballs as a side dish, eight treasure vegetables, and sweet and sour pork. Just as I had heard, the dishes were refreshing with no unnecessary ingredients, showcasing the natural flavors of the ingredients. The sweet and sour pork was especially delicious, with the fried pork being crispy and piping hot, possibly the best I've ever had. The service was smooth and polite, leaving a very good impression. It was one of the best tour lunches I've had. Thank you for the meal, I would like to visit this restaurant again privately next time. Thank you for the meal.

China's famous cuisine, Sun's Roppongi store. Just like the Nihonbashi branch, the interior has a high-class feel. Sun's restaurant has unique and delicious tantanmen. The punchy flavor with the right amount of Sichuan pepper is very tasty. If you're lucky, you might even meet the owner in person. We enjoyed our meal on this day as well. Thank you for the feast.

I ordered the shrimp chili that I really wanted to eat for lunch. The shrimp was crispy and delicious. The sauce was spicy and didn't have the typical tomato smell from using ketchup, which was great. The soup and appetizers were also delicious! The location is great and the lunch prices are very reasonable. I want to visit this restaurant again and again.

I visited the restaurant just in July, but I came back again to have the tomato cold noodles. This time, I ordered the tomato, egg, and shrimp cold noodles, as well as the five-ingredient yakisoba. I also ordered the Beijing-style dumplings. "The dumplings have a strong flavor, so you don't need vinegar or soy sauce," said Mr. Sun. "Tomatoes are delicious until mid-August, after that the seeds become tough," he added. "Next time, the eggplant will be tasty," he said.

If you're looking for Chinese cuisine in Roppongi, Sun is the place to go. I've been to the one in Nihonbashi a few times, but this was my first time at the Roppongi location, which is inside Roppongi Midtown near Tattoo Tokyo. The entrance is small, but the underground restaurant is spacious. Even though we didn't have a reservation, Chef Sun greeted us with a big smile. I was so happy we chose this place! We chatted with him while he prepared various dishes for us, including appetizer platter, scallop soup, tofu and jasmine shrimp chili, fried meat, hot and sour soup noodles, and almond tofu for dessert. I definitely want to go back to this restaurant. Roppongi has changed a lot since my last visit.

When I passed by the art museum, I knew about the restaurant but had never been there. Today, I had some business in Roppongi and decided to visit Mr. Sun's restaurant for lunch. As I entered and sat down, the familiar chef Mr. Sun came to take my order. I told him it was my first time, and without hesitation, I pointed to the seafood stir-fry and sweet and sour pork lunch set. He also recommended the spring rolls, so I ordered those as well. The portions were not large, but everything was delicious, especially the sweet and sour pork and spring rolls which completely changed my perception. I was impressed by the experienced and welcoming service that made me want to come back again.

I used the lunch menu. By the time I arrived at 1 o'clock, they had already run out of the daily special and the ankake yakisoba, so I ordered the simmered soba with local chicken and vegetables (1386 yen). It had a gentle and elegant flavor. During the meal, the owner himself recommended the shrimp spring rolls to our table.

This is a unique Nouvelle Chinoise cuisine based on local dishes centered around Beijing. On this day, after visiting the Metropolitan Museum exhibition at the National Art Center, my friend and I stopped by with just the two of us. Lunch hours are from 11:30 to 15:00 (last order at 14:30), and we just made it in time to visit! Many people entered the restaurant in the same flow, and there was only one seat left - Lucky♡ feeling hungry - but be prepared for a bit of a wait after ordering (^▽^;) We ordered the signature dishes "Jumbo Shrimp Spring Rolls," "Seafood Ankake Yakisoba," and "Seafood Fried Rice." The lady in charge of the floor warned us that ordering separate menus would take time, which made us a little nervous. But hey, we have different dishes we want to eat, so it can't be helped, right? Feeling better, now onto the food... I was very satisfied with the variety and amount of ingredients in the dishes. The yakisoba had thick noodles that were crispy and delicious ♪ The decorative cuttlefish was beautiful - the craftsmanship shines °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖° The seasoning of the fried rice was also elegant! Both dishes had plenty of juicy shrimp, cuttlefish, and large scallops. Don't think 3,000 yen per person for lunch is expensive, the quality of ingredients and flavors are worth it. Thank you for the meal. RedCard Madame ☜☻︎

I visited to satisfy my craving for Shanghai crab. I can't eat much, so I asked for a small portion but delicious meal. The staff, possibly Sun-san, listened to my request enthusiastically. The appetizers were delicate and excellent, with a charming old-fashioned touch. The large and delicious shrimp chili was unexpectedly unique. The cream-style shark fin dish was also delicious, which was a pleasant surprise. The Shanghai crab was steamed and had a taste that was new to me. Everything was great. I enjoyed my meal very much.

Blog: Hangover Meal at "Sun" Instagram Hello everyone, it's time for a hangover meal at "Sun". When it comes to top-class chefs in Roppongi, you can't miss the Chinese restaurant "Sun" located near Midtown and the Museum Street! They have been featured on a TV show where they rate convenience store and chain restaurant dishes, so I decided to pay them a visit. It was a scorching hot day, perfect for some cold noodles. Menu: - Sun Leaf's Spicy Dan Dan Noodles: 1150 yen - Five-Flavor Sour and Spicy Thick Noodles: 1386 yen - Indulgent Five-Flavor Fried Yakisoba: 1690 yen - Western Persimmon Cold Noodles: 1500 yen I opted for the summer limited edition "Western Persimmon Cold Noodles" as I wasn't in the mood for hot dishes on such a hot day. The dish arrived after a short wait, and it was a refreshing combination of tomatoes, eggs, and plump shrimp. The cucumbers were served separately for us to add as we pleased. After mixing everything thoroughly, I took a bite and enjoyed the refreshing acidity of the tomatoes, the plump shrimp, and the chewy noodles. Adding the crunchy cucumbers enhanced the overall experience. The balance of sweetness and acidity from the tomatoes was quite interesting. Overall, the portion of noodles was quite generous, and I ended up feeling quite full by the end. It's a great option for when you want something light and refreshing. I might go back to try their fried yakisoba and spicy dan dan noodles next time. Can't wait to go back for some chilled noodles, maybe some cold Chinese noodles once the rainy season is over.
