【Points】1. A popular restaurant in Roppongi with over 200 reviews. 2. The tantanmen is the most popular dish, but prices are generally high. 3. The service may not be great temporarily due to a shortage of staff.
【Trigger/Purpose】I was looking for a lunch spot around Roppongi and decided on this restaurant by sorting through reviews on Tabelog based on the number of reviews.
【Location】About an 8-minute walk from Roppongi Station. The restaurant is located underground, so it may be a bit hard to find.
【Atmosphere/Seating/Customer base/Wi-Fi/Toilet/Smoking/Baby strollers, etc.】The restaurant is underground and the interior is a bit dim. There are many seats, but on this day, despite available seats, customers were lining up, possibly due to a shortage of staff. The customers were mostly older, including madams visiting the National Art Center, couples, and middle-aged salarymen. There are no elevators, so I don't think baby strollers can be brought in.
【Food】(Reason for ordering, taste, portion, wait time, what others ordered, etc.)
- Grandson Chief's Tantanmen (Extra Spicy) (¥1,200)
Since all the prices were a bit high, I ordered the cheapest option, the ¥1,200 tantanmen. The menu stated "Extra Spicy" with no option to adjust the spice level, which made me a bit nervous. However, when I tried it, it wasn't as spicy as expected, and even someone like me who isn't good with spicy food managed to finish it. The food took a long time to arrive, possibly due to a shortage of staff. Also, water didn't come unless we asked for it. There was hot tea on the table, but it didn't go well with the spicy tantanmen.
【Service】As mentioned above, it was clear that there was a shortage of staff. Additionally, the female staff at the cashier and in the dining area were a bit brusque, it would have been better if they were a bit more polite. Later, a manager? named Grandson came and he was extremely cheerful and fun.
