It's a reassuring izakaya where you can enter any store. Started with Hoppy, shellfish, and whale. It was my first time ordering shellfish here, and it was quite good. I also added the classic liver fry with a drink. It's really delicious, I love it. I don't remember the details of the second half because I went to different places, but it was still fun. Thank you for the meal.

I realized unexpectedly that the seafood is delicious, so I often go there. I ordered sashimi of red sea bream and grilled surf clam to go with my chu-hai while waiting for the bus. I added taro simmered in soy sauce and rapeseed blossoms with mustard dressing, which arrived quickly. Even though I stayed for less than 20 minutes, having 2 chu-hais and 4 appetizers for ¥1,320 is an amazing deal, right?

Cheap alcohol, cheap snacks, and 250 yen for a chu-hi is amazing! The size of the chu-hi is really good, it's big! It's a shame they don't have a last order menu. Standing too much makes my legs hurt, but it feels like a place you want to stay in. Anyway, it's cheap, and the small portions seem just right for drinkers. It might not be enough for young people. Thanks for the meal, I'll come again!

I was drawn to the menu and decided to stop by to kill time while waiting for the bus. I enjoyed the flounder sashimi with ponzu sauce, it was light and refreshing. It was delicious, so I also ordered the recommended black porgy and had 2 shochu highballs, totaling ¥1,060. It's a great deal. I feel like the quality of sashimi varies depending on the store. The Uguisudani store had excellent sashimi.

The third stop was "Banpaiya" in Uguisudani. Each dish is very cheap, so we ended up drinking a lot ^^; Two middle-aged men had Hoppy 430, Tomato Highball 330, Vice 430, Red Shiso Sour 330, Thunder Highball 330, Tuna Sashimi 310, Liver Fry 190, Oden 130, Stew (tofu only) 110, Guts Sashimi 190, Croquette 130, Salt Cheese 190, Bakudan 250, and Ara Soup 110 x2. However, the total of 3,570 yen is cheap! The young foreign staff members were smiling and working hard. Good impression. The customers were also nice, highly recommended. There was even a solo female customer.

Met a friend for dinner at a set meal restaurant in Uguisudani. When we arrived at the front of the shop, the owner said they were injured and would be closed for a while. Oh well... Let's walk around and find another place. Turns out there are quite a few different shops in Uguisudani. Oh, I remember seeing this standing bar on TV. My friend suggested we try it even though they don't drink alcohol. We went in. It's about a 5-minute walk from the station if you walk normally. The place had a moderate number of customers. We sat at the far end of the counter. There were hooks for hanging clothes and bags under the table. We started with a toast with beer and oolong tea. The food prices were surprisingly low. We felt relieved and enjoyed our meal. I can't remember everything we ordered, but we wrote down what we wanted on paper and gave it to the staff. The dishes were not too strong in flavor and didn't have a stew-like smell. We ordered two servings of the beef tongue stew, which my friend had been raving about. They were right - it was delicious. I heard that the fish was good on TV, so we tried the seared mackerel and tuna tartare. Both were tasty. Oh, what else did we order? Fried horse mackerel, large beef croquette, fish cake tempura, dried round herring... Oh, what was that last one? Let's order it and see. Oh, I remember now. It was tuna topped with grated yam and natto. I don't like either of those, but my friend enjoyed it. I had about three drinks. It's impressive that you can eat and drink for under 2000 yen per person at a standing bar. I would definitely visit this place again, even by myself.

Due to the impact of the coronavirus, I had been closed for a while. I finally visited the restaurant that I had known about as a passing by. The staff had changed a bit, but they were still quick and efficient with taking orders. One thing that seemed different was that there seemed to be more sashimi dishes on the menu. Is this a new trend for the whole izakaya? As for drinks, I went with the classic Hoppy. I just wish they would pour a little more each time, but that's just me being a bit of a drinker (laughs). One of the good things about this place is that you can drink quietly. Everyone seems to be drinking calmly. While sipping on my drink, I reflect on today's events, or maybe just vent in my mind. One thing I didn't know before is that if you bring back the receipt from your previous visit, you get a complimentary dish. Everyone, make sure to take advantage of this!

This series is updating in reverse order (last time was Season 12), so the context may seem a bit off. This time, I visited Uguisudani-ten, a deep city bar located on Shinano Street. I really like this city - it's shady but charming. And for some reason, Uguisudani-ten is my favorite among them all. I don't know why, so I'll definitely come back again.

On a weekday after 8 pm, just a 2-3 minute walk from Uguisudani Station. Feeling tired after a hectic day at work, I was craving a drink, but I knew I couldn't overdo it today. So, I decided to stop by a standing bar, "Banpaiya," to avoid lingering too long. The place was about half full, and both staff members were from Myanmar. Some of the customers were also from Myanmar, creating a cheerful atmosphere in the restaurant. It was quite soothing. Still needing some comfort, I ordered the following: Golden Chuhai x2 for 290 yen each, Black Hoppy Set for 430 yen, Tuna Sashimi for 310 yen, Liver Fry for 190 yen, Fried Garlic for 90 yen, and Macaroni Salad for 150 yen. The Tuna Sashimi was recommended by the waitress, and it was delicious for the price. I also enjoyed the Liver Fry, my favorite dish at Banpaiya. The Golden Chuhai was a bit weak, so I switched to Hoppy. I also added some garlic and Macaroni Salad, which was served with cabbage, a nice touch. Feeling hungry, I devoured them. The garlic was plentiful and delicious with miso. I didn't know such a wonderful dish existed. I felt completely at ease eventually, and even made friends with a customer from Myanmar, who turned out to be affiliated with Reiwazakaba. After promising to visit Reiwazakaba and Sushi Reiwa next time, I settled the bill after about an hour. I usually throw away receipts, but this time I kept it in my wallet. Next time, I will definitely visit Banpaiya again, following the flow from Reiwazakaba. Thank you for the wonderful meal on this day.

After going to the public bath, I decided to have a drink alone. I found a standing bar where smoking is allowed, but that was a bit tough for me after the bath. However, I was surprised when I looked at the menu. The prices have gone up due to inflation in 2022. They even increased prices on August 1st. But still, it's cheap. Draft beer for 490 yen, highball for 390 yen, crispy cheese for 190 yen, pickled mackerel for 220 yen, green onion with spicy pepper for 150 yen, and fried enoki mushrooms for 150 yen. What great value for the price. It's a great place for cheap drinking. The food is cheap but surprisingly delicious! Green onion with spicy pepper is perfect for a summer evening. Crispy cheese may seem plain, but it's a nostalgic taste at this price. The fried enoki mushrooms are a steal at 150 yen for this amount, with a crispy coating and moist inside. It's exactly as I imagined. This place is reliable, cheap, and perfect for a quick solo drink.

Chuhai 250 yen x 2, Bonito sashimi 310 yen, Boiled frozen tofu sold out, Udon noodles with grated yam 150 yen, Simmered dish with egg 150 yen. Total 1,110 yen. I visited on a weekday after work. There were 10 customers before me and no customers after me. It's an all-standing style so there is quite a bit of space. There are 3 staff members including a cheerful mother. The bill is clear. I thought the udon noodles with grated yam only had seaweed, but it also had clams.

I always find myself stopping by here. I'm happy because the sashimi is delicious, and every time I pass by, I end up recommending it. I also always order garlic. I like to spend my days off here, drinking alcohol leisurely while watching TV.

Today's recommended sashimi was all delicious! I wish there was a bit more Hoppy though...I guess I've gotten used to Ameyoko. The garlic tempura was also delicious. The distance between the staff and customers was just right.

It is located just down from Uguisudani Station East Exit. The shop has a red lantern so it stands out! The cost performance is great!! The taste is average (the motsu-ni is delicious!!), but things like the 130 yen fried horse mackerel are just unbelievable. We drank and ate with a friend and spent around 4,000 yen for the two of us. (*_*)

I found a standing bar while strolling around and decided to check it out. I was asked for my drink order first, so I went with a white hoppy set for 370 yen. The shochu was 230 yen. Food orders were taken by writing on a piece of paper. I ordered the simmered dish with eggs for 150 yen and the black mussel sashimi for 180 yen. The simmered dish was well-cooked with flavors of konjac, offal, and daikon soaking in. It was topped with green onions. The mussel sashimi was crunchy with a side of shiso leaves. I also ordered the fried cod roe for 130 yen, which came with shredded cabbage and mayonnaise. The cod roe had a fluffy texture inside with a crispy seaweed flavor on the surface. It's a great place to drink and eat affordably. The shop was bustling even during early weekdays.

Around 1:30 PM on Sunday, about a 2-3 minute walk from Uguisudani Station. I passed by and saw that this place was not crowded, so I decided to support it as a regular customer. I quickly entered and sat at the usual spot at the counter, and ordered the following: Tomato Split 290 yen, Horse Highball 290 yen, Raw Sandfish Sashimi 250 yen, Fried Eggplant and Rice Cake 180 yen. There were two male staff members working that day. My usual spot was right near the kitchen. I was always impressed by the efficiency of the staff. Although the menu board was flipped over, the drink server was loudly promoting the Raw Sandfish, so I ordered it. The sandfish was prepared beautifully, shiny and crunchy. Raw sandfish is not commonly served as sashimi locally, as it is usually used as food for seals. The Fried Eggplant and Rice Cake was a replenishment of carbohydrates since I missed out on eating omurice earlier. The rice cake was cut in half, topped with plenty of grated daikon radish and ginger soy sauce, which was delicious. As more customers arrived, the outside counter quickly filled up. I was completely satisfied, and when I paid, it came to a close but just missed being a cheap meal at 1,010 yen. I'll have to come back again since it's not quite a budget-friendly place. The Yushun was a bit disappointing, but I felt relieved after winning in the Meguro Memorial. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

In 2008, a 4-tatami mat standing bar was born in Musashikoyama, and it's famous that "Tsubohachi" was 8 tatami mats. The founder trained at "Ikoi" in Akabane before starting this shop, and it seems that the relationship also affects the procurement of alcohol. So, I visited the reopened BPY Uguisudani store, which now proudly displays its orange facade on the street. The interior seemed unchanged, with a mix of older gentlemen and younger customers. A young couple was sitting next to me, enjoying their drinks. Surprisingly, the TV was showing GeGeGe no Kitaro, and smoking was allowed throughout the restaurant. There was also a terrace area for standing and drinking outside. The staff, consisting of two men and one woman, worked efficiently and served the food promptly. I tried the following dishes: ◼️ Black Hoppy - standard taste. ◼️ Whelk - my first time trying this dish. It had a nice sea flavor and a hint of citrus, with seaweed added in. It was a good value for the price. ◼️ Croquette - a classic fried dish with potato filling. ◼️ Grilled sardine with salt - priced at 180 yen including tax, it was my first time trying this dish. It was well-seasoned with salt and had a juicy texture, making it delicious. The only downside was the smoke from the nearby older gentleman drifting towards me due to the airflow, but overall, it was a pleasant drinking experience. I paid in cash and left the restaurant. I thought about that as I confidently took my usual spot at the counter and ordered the following: Chu-hai for 250 yen, Chishin Ken (shochu with water) for 370 yen, fresh bluefin tuna for 310 yen, and simmered dish for 130 yen. The staff were all young, except for one older sister-like lady. The Chu-hai was light, but the authentic shochu was strong, so for a 120 yen difference, I recommend the latter. The tuna was fresh and had a nice fatty texture, very delicious. I leisurely enjoyed the view of the pachinko parlor and the intersection from the window, savoring the Senbero. I thought I had a bit of an overindulgence, but it was somewhat regrettable. Setting that aside, I didn't think about such things when they were closed, but now that they're back, I'm truly happy. I was having a girls' night out at a hotel with my friends, and we found a standing bar nearby! We decided to check it out and ended up at Banpaiya. Our orders came out quickly, which made us very happy. The system was self-service, where you pick up your order from the counter once it's ready. The staff's customer service was average, but we didn't feel much gratitude from them. We had delicious dishes like grilled chicken liver, deep-fried squid legs, enoki mushroom tempura, shirako ponzu, and foie gras. Everything was very tasty, and we were satisfied with the prices. I also enjoyed a Tokyo Passion Fruit cocktail, which was delicious. Banpaiya, thank you for the wonderful meal! We will definitely visit again when we're in the area!
