On Sunday at 11:30 am, I visited this small steak specialty restaurant after making a reservation. It opened in 1965 and has a calm and chic Art Nouveau-style interior. I had the Black Wagyu Steak Lunch (5500 yen excluding tax), a limited weekend lunch menu. The steak was delicious, but my favorite part was the high-class, fresh, and luxurious salad bar set. The perfectly cooked medium rare Black Wagyu steak was topped with the secret "Orient sauce" that has been preserved since the restaurant's opening. The sauce complemented the steak well, making it one of the best steaks I've had recently. The set also included a choice of bread or rice, onion soup, dessert (sherbet), and coffee or tea.

I had the ladies' lunch limited to weekdays. The salad bar here is amazing! It goes well with alcohol as an appetizer. Everything from the homemade corned beef to the ingredients is delicious. Even the cucumber is juicy. I couldn't help but take a lot. The onion soup, cooked to a creamy texture, was delicious. I could choose between borscht and another soup. The steak for the main dish looked small, but it was quite filling. It was very tender. I always have room for dessert. I think it's a great deal to be able to enjoy cakes and other desserts served at Hotel New Otani. They were served at just the right timing, allowing me to relax and enjoy. I am grateful.

The steakhouse inside Hotel New Otani may seem high-end at first glance, but it's actually a great deal for ladies on weekdays! The Ladies' Steak Lunch is 4,200 yen and includes onion soup, grilled Japanese beef steak with seasonal vegetables, and a SATSUKI dessert plate (salad bar, rice or bread, coffee included). The all-you-can-eat salad bar offers a wide variety of toppings, which is a plus for women. The steak was delicious, and it paired perfectly with the accompanying sauce. It was also nice to receive a small piece of SATSUKI's shortcake, which is normally quite expensive to buy separately. What stood out the most was the exceptional hospitality of the staff. When a friend's child started crying, they immediately offered to hold the child or asked if we were enjoying our meal. The staff's hospitality truly impressed us, living up to the reputation of Hotel New Otani. Despite taking up space with three strollers, the staff were very accommodating and we are grateful for that. Dining with children often makes people avoid steakhouses, but I would definitely revisit this place for the food and hospitality. It's a safe and welcoming place for parents and elderly guests as well. I came from Nagatacho, and climbing up Kioicho slope as shown on the map was quite hot and tough. Next time, I'll try entering from the Garden Court side to arrive at the restaurant in a cooler way.

It's a bit of a distance from the Akasaka side, as it is on the opposite side of the hotel. The display cases visible from the outside showcase Miyazaki beef, Kobe beef, Black Wagyu, and Ozaki beef. Various branded beef options are available. ■US Sirloin Steak 200g This time, I opted for the US Sirloin 200g instead of the expensive Japanese beef options. Still, it was over 5000 yen, as expected. The lunch comes with a salad buffet. There is a wide variety of vegetables, including homemade corned beef. The hospitality of replenishing the buffet even after the last order is impressive. With so many choices, it's easy to end up taking more than you can eat. The meat arrived after finishing the salad, and it was thick. It was well-seasoned with salt and pepper, so I tried it as is first, then with curry-flavored Japanese sauce and mustard. It had a firm texture and a rich flavor. Coffee was served after the meal. Sometimes it's nice to have a hotel lunch when visiting the office.

I used it for lunch. I had a 150-gram Black Wagyu fillet steak. The fillet steak was very tender and didn't need a knife! It was very delicious. The salad had a lot of healthy ingredients in the buffet, and it was fun to choose! The onion soup was also very tasty. The atmosphere of the restaurant is elegant and recommended!

I visited a steak specialty restaurant located at the same place since the opening of Hotel New Otani Tokyo. I didn't have high expectations because I had a personal image that delicious meat is grilled, but I was surprised!! It was delicious... I may have never felt the richness and sweetness of beef so directly before. Even after drinking quite a bit of alcohol, I felt a refreshing sensation, and I thought so. This time, I had the Quality Course (18,500 yen~) which featured fillet of A4 grade Japanese black beef, and it was delicious enough. You can choose to add Saga beef, Miyazaki beef, Ozaki beef, etc. for an additional fee. The selection of champagne and wine is also excellent. The sommelier chose a red wine to pair with the meat for me, and it was a gentle and soft taste that even beginners can enjoy, enhancing the flavor of the meat. I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent choice. It's almost embarrassing to say this at the end, but the salad bar is also of high quality. Not only the vegetables but also the various dressings to choose from were all delicious. It was so delicious! I will definitely visit again.

Reopening of business: For four generations, we have been taken care of by Rib Room. It has been almost closed for the past two years, with no clear indication of when it would reopen. Today is my child's graduation ceremony, and I told my father that I would take them anywhere they wanted to go. My wife immediately suggested Rib Room, which reopened on March 18th and will not have any long-term closures in the future. I had been calling regularly to check for updates, and finally, it has made a comeback. It seems like it will be crowded starting from tomorrow, Sunday. Not many people know about it yet, as it is not listed on food review websites like Tabelog. It quietly reopened, and I believe many regular customers have been eagerly waiting for this moment. Rib Room opened a year after the New Otani Hotel, and it has been a historic steakhouse since 1965. Regardless of what others say, it is the best steak restaurant for me. There may be other restaurants that serve tastier steaks, but the memories created here are unmatched. From the age of 20, Rib Room has been the best restaurant in my life. Now, the best restaurant for me is Katsuretsuan, a tonkatsu restaurant in Yokohama. It may seem like a downgrade, but that's how it is for me now. Both Rib Room and Katsuretsuan share the common factor of being places where I have dined with my parents, grandparents, and now with my wife and child. Rib Room is a family-friendly restaurant, unlike Tour d'Argent at the New Otani, which prohibits those under 16. It holds a special place in my heart, as it was where I chose to celebrate passing my junior high school entrance exam. I remember being told, "You can eat as much as you want today!" and it remains an unforgettable memory. Today, my wife, child, and I went to celebrate my child's graduation ceremony. I ordered the Volcano (340g) steak a la carte with rice and onion gratin soup. My wife and child shared the Quality Course, opting for a 250g size-up of the Wagyu fillet (150g), along with onion gratin soup and garlic rice. They also added an extra 150g and 100g of steak for the child, which was greatly appreciated. Additional orders included double consommé soup, large garlic rice, French fries, garlic chips, and drinks such as beer, Old Parr (2 glasses), soda, iced tea, and orange juice. The bill came to around 71,000 yen for the three of us, but it was worth every penny. The reopening of Rib Room has brought me immense joy, and I will continue to dine here for the rest of my life. Perhaps my son will bring his children here in the future. Oh, they also offer premium beef such as Ozaki beef, Kobe beef, and Oki beef, as well as an extensive wine cellar to cater to various needs. In conclusion, Rib Room is a place that always meets my needs, and today was no exception.

I had some free time during the day on a regular day. Our fishing trip was canceled due to bad weather, so we ended up going out for lunch with my second daughter, Tamami (pseudonym), since her preschool class was also canceled. Of course, this was kept a secret from my eldest daughter, Tamako (pseudonym). Sorry, Tamako. We visited "Rib Room" at the New Otani hotel. It had been a while, maybe about 3 years. Tamako likes yakiniku but doesn't eat much steak, while Tamami eats steak relatively well. So, I thought Tamami would eat quite a bit. The place wasn't too crowded, which was nice for us as parents. Since I was the designated driver that day, I opted for a non-alcoholic cocktail. The meat selection at Rib Room was impressive, with various types of beef available. I decided to go for the signature dish, the VOLCANO, which is a hot lump of meat topped with garlic butter that melts like lava. I ordered the 16-ounce portion without hesitation. The salad bar was also delicious, with about 20 types of vegetables and 6 different dressings, including a peach dressing on that day. Tamami wanted some potatoes, so we ordered some for her. The premium onion gratin soup was tasty, and the VOLCANO steak was a hit. I divided the meat into 4 portions, smothered each with garlic butter, and enjoyed it to the last bite. Tamami ate about a quarter of my portion and was satisfied. The bill was reduced for me as a New Otani Club member, with a 50% service charge discount and a 10% limited-time discount. It was a great lunchtime experience.

I visited for lunch on a regular day. This long-established restaurant is located in a corner of the New Otani arcade street. There were delicious looking meats displayed in front of the shop, giving off a luxurious vibe, and since there were hardly any customers, I was able to spend a very relaxing time. I had reserved the lunch course which included: - Salad buffet: There were various vegetables like coriander and bitter melon, and a wide variety of dressings to choose from, making it enjoyable. - Soup: A hearty consommé soup with plenty of ingredients. - Meat: Steak and grilled vegetables. The portion was just right for lunch. - Dessert: A trio of sakura jelly, rum raisin ice cream, and Fukagawa mochi. The salad had a wide variety of vegetables to choose from, making it fun to select. The peach dressing was sweet and delicious. The steak was delicious as expected, but it would have been even better if they asked about the preferred doneness. However, the highlight was definitely the dessert! Each item had the perfect amount of sweetness and portion size, and they were all so delicious that I couldn't help but finish them all in one go. It's not a cheap place to dine, so it may not be a casual option, but I would love to visit again for a celebration or as a treat.

US beef just doesn't seem to suit me... The friendly sommelier service was excellent. Although this hotel is a long-established one, it lacks the upscale atmosphere on the arcade floor, making it hard to compete with other restaurants that offer better ambiance and taste for the same price. When it comes to wagyu beef, the prices tend to skyrocket, and if you're going for US beef, places like Wolfgang's from the homeland are on a different level in terms of taste. I wonder why they serve US beef here. With various newly improved aging beef options becoming popular, this place may not be suitable for younger generations who are getting used to those flavors. They might want to target only high-income customers who can easily choose wagyu without hesitation, or else focus on new technologies to avoid receiving negative reviews that could lead to the decline of this renowned restaurant. Maybe they offer US beef for foreigners staying at the hotel, but I believe many Japanese people struggle with meat that is hard to cut even with a knife.

From December 10th to weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) until the end of the year, the restaurant seems to be open. The business after January 5th is undecided. All regular customers seem to order these as well. And then, the VOLCANO arrived. At the next table, they were moved by the nostalgic smell of this steak. They also praised that the taste has not changed, showing that this restaurant is truly loved by regular and loyal customers. The vanilla ice cream and milk served with coffee are impeccable. Everything is the real deal. The decor and atmosphere of the restaurant are also wonderful, and if you want to eat a hearty steak, this is the place to go.

Wolfgang Steak House is better than this place in terms of atmosphere and taste. This restaurant offers the top two brands of Kobe beef, Kawasen Farm and Ozaki beef. I ordered the Kobe beef steak lunch. The lunch comes with soup, salad bar, and coffee. You can also change the Onion Soup to Onion Gratin Soup for an additional charge. The salad bar was fresh and well-prepared, with crunchy cucumbers. The Onion Gratin Soup was delicious, especially with added cheese. The steak, even though it was only 100g, had great flavor. Regular customers were eagerly waiting for the restaurant to reopen, as they said this is the place to go if you want to enjoy a hearty meat meal. They mentioned that the only steakhouse better than this one is Peter Luger in Brooklyn, New York. If there is a steakhouse in Japan better than this one, please let me know. The quality of food was excellent, and the staff provided exceptional service, serving customers promptly and attentively.

After a long time, I had steak at Rib Room. The salad bar has a wide variety of options and all the dressings are delicious. The onion soup and minestrone are also tasty. The lunch prices are not as high as dinner, but you can still enjoy the same quality meat. I was satisfied.

It has been a while since I visited this restaurant. The steak was decent, but the wine was expensive! The champagne they recommended right off the bat was either Dom Perignon or Laurent Perrier rose, priced at over ¥4,000. I declined and opted for the cheapest white Bordeaux on the wine list, which was around ¥2,400 per glass. The other bottles were also pricey. I reluctantly ordered a Pinot from Australia for ¥13,000, which I later found online for sale at ¥3,850. Maybe it's because the rent at Hotel New Otani is high, but this seems a bit excessive, don't you think?
