I went early in the morning, but there were already two groups in line. The brownie was not too sweet, with a crispy surface, and the cream was also not too sweet, it was amazing. I was moved by the taste of the real thing. I would like to use it for lunch next time. Thank you very much.

At the British Exhibition at Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi, I lined up for The Ritzboro's scones, but oh my, a 100-minute wait! So, I formed a group with Maru and Lily. We took a coffee break in between and headed to Café Wien on the 2nd floor of the main building. However, even before entering the store, there was a line of ladies. Yay! Luckily, a single seat became available, so I quickly grabbed it! I enjoyed a hearty meal at the café - goulash (Viennese-style beef stew), punch choice mini kugelhopf, and hot coffee (Julius Meinl café). I quickly finished my meal, thinking about the families waiting in line, and paid the bill - totaling 3190 yen (including tax). Payment can only be made through QR code payment using electronic money (as of September 2023).

I went to a Viennese café but ended up eating pancakes instead of Sachertorte. I wasn't in the mood for Sachertorte, but my love for pancakes took over and it was a mistake. I was surprised at how quickly the pancakes were served, but after trying them, I understood why. They were probably just made! The restaurant itself was lovely, so it's a shame.

I like the café culture in Austria. You can relax in a classical atmosphere, chat leisurely, read the newspaper, and enjoy delicious coffee and sweets. The light meals are also quite satisfying. It's surprising that such Austrian-style cafes are not easy to find in Japan. However, this shop in Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi offers a rare Austrian-style experience in Japan. The atmosphere is calm, with classic sweets like Sachertorte and dishes like goulash, as well as coffee options like Melange and Einspänner. The brand is Julius Meinl, which adds a special touch. I tried the dessert called Filzmerlba, which combines peach compote and ice cream in a romantic swan-shaped glass dish. Personally, I found the whipped cream a bit too much, but it was delicious. I look forward to visiting again to experience the Austrian atmosphere. I would love for them to add Kaiserschmarrn to the menu.

After spending a relaxing time at "Sarashina Hori" in Takashimaya's restaurant area, I was in the mood for something sweet. There were a few places I had in mind, but I didn't want to walk around too much in this heat. It was around noon when I headed to a place I had in mind, but it was full. So, I decided to go to a spacious cafe inside the Mitsukoshi department store. I had visited this place once almost 10 years ago and remembered its calm and understated atmosphere. This cafe is the first in Japan to be certified by the Vienna Cafe House Association, and it reminded me of the cafes I visited in Vienna many years ago. The spacious interior had high ceilings, and the decor had a Viennese touch with rattan chairs and red velvet seats. They were playing Strauss's Vienna waltzes, but it didn't feel tacky. The menu had options for meals, but I decided to just have cake and coffee. When I opened the menu, I was drawn to a colorful parfait, but I knew I had to try the "Sachertorte." This chocolate cake is one of the most famous in the world, originating from the Hotel Sacher in Vienna. The cake had a chocolate fondant coating, and the recipe included chocolate instead of cocoa in the batter, with apricot jam sandwiched in between. The slice of Sachertorte was served with a generous dollop of whipped cream. The taste of the rich chocolate, the sweet-sour apricot jam, and the unsweetened whipped cream created a delightful harmony. I also enjoyed a cup of coffee, which paired perfectly with the intense flavors of the cake. It was a comfortable and enjoyable experience. The cafe's elegant atmosphere, the attentive staff, and the reasonable price of 1,430 yen for the set made it a place I would like to visit again. They also offered Austrian dishes like schnitzel and goulash, which I might try next time. It was a pleasant escape from the hustle and bustle outside, and I look forward to returning.

Visited for the first time in 2 years to have Sachertorte. Located in the back of the 2nd floor of Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store (Women's Clothing Floor). Due to its location, 80-90% of the customers are women. The calm ambiance and background music are impressive. I have had Sachertorte at the café of Hotel Sacher in Vienna several times, and while it's not an exact replica, it is close to the original in terms of shape and taste. The whipped cream is not too sweet, and the chocolate cake is elegantly finished. The Mélange (Viennese-style café latte) that came with the set is also delicious. The menu was limited during my last visit, but this time there is a wide variety. In particular, the Viennese-style schnitzel making a comeback is good news for me personally.

Located on the 2nd floor of the main building of Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi, directly connected to the Mitsukoshi-mae Station. I visited on a Sunday evening. As you enter through the main entrance along Chuo Street, take the stairs on the right. Despite it being a bit late on a Sunday evening, the place was packed with a few groups waiting outside. However, the seating capacity is quite large, so the wait is not as long as it seems. I was able to get a table without waiting for more than 15 minutes. The interior of the cafe has sofa seating, table seating, and chair seating, creating a cozy and elegant European-style atmosphere. I tried their famous Sachertorte and Melange, a Viennese-style cafe latte. They offer a variety of other desserts and meal options as well. The Sachertorte comes with unsweetened whipped cream, which complements the sweetness of the cake and adds a smooth texture. The apricot jam underneath the chocolate also adds a nice touch. The Melange is like a rich and smooth version of a hot cafe au lait, easy to drink. Overall, this cafe offers a luxurious quality for a break inside a department store.

The café "Wien" on the 2nd floor of Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi has received high ratings on Tabelog. The elegant and classical interior with red velvet stands out, creating a sophisticated atmosphere. Despite the potential for high prices (a cup of coffee may cost around 2,000 yen), the popular Sachertorte set is priced at around 1,500 yen. It's a good deal for the atmosphere and the chance to relax. While I don't often venture out to this area beyond Ginza, it's worth a visit and you won't be disappointed.

I was grateful for the convenience of being able to eat ice coffee and Sachertorte, an Austria government-certified shop, in Tokyo. I tried Sachertorte for the first time and enjoyed the chocolate, cream, and jam in it. ✨

Vienna Ice Cafe - ¥1100 (Iced coffee with whipped cream) After a meal in a calm interior, it was time for tea. This cafe, which serves coffee menus recreated from authentic Viennese recipes, was the first in Japan to receive certification from the Viennese Cafe Association. I enjoyed a delicious iced coffee in a cozy space.

Lunch with family, shopping, and tea in Nihonbashi. We went to Café Wien in Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi. We ordered the "Orange Chocolate Parfait" for 1100 yen and the "Chocolate Pudding Set" for 1540 yen. Although I didn't try the parfait, it looked delicious. The chocolate was moist and went well with the whipped cream. It paired perfectly with the café latte. The modern and calm atmosphere in the café made me feel like staying longer. I heard that the Sachertorte is famous, so I plan to try it next time. The total bill was 2552 yen. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

In December 2020, I don't have much connection with Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi, but I occasionally visit. My main attraction is not shopping, but the "Ten'nyo" statue that sits in the center of the first floor. This gorgeous wooden carving was installed in 1960, standing at about 11 meters tall and weighing 6.8 tons. I was moved by the grandeur of this piece after receiving an explanation from a Mitsukoshi guide. It's not so much religious as it is secularly beautiful, reminiscent of what I felt at Nikko Toshogu Shrine. I enjoy walking up the stairs while looking for ammonite fossils and then heading to this café on the second floor. It's an establishment with a long history, even recognized by the city of Vienna, with a Viennese atmosphere and interior. I always order the "Franziskaner" for 825 yen including tax, a type of Viennese coffee with hot espresso and frothy milk that tastes authentic. Sometimes, I order the "Mont Blanc Cake Set" for 1,320 yen with friends, enjoying the chestnut cream. The sensual sweetness and the richness of the cream make me dream of the distant city of Vienna. In April 2023, I visited with a friend who wanted to see Nihonbashi. The atmosphere of the café is calming, but the background music seems to be children's classical music. We ordered the "Franziskaner" for 1,100 yen including tax, which had increased in price. My friend opted for an 880 yen iced latte. This time, the espresso coffee was not piping hot, and the deliciousness of the frothy cream didn't stand out. It was a bit disappointing, but I look forward to trying the café's specialty, the "Viennese-style Cutlet," next time.

A café on the 2nd floor of Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi, on the fashion floor. It's spacious in the back with plenty of room at the tables. Mostly women dining alone, enjoying tea or a meal at a leisurely pace. I was tempted by the schnitzel and goulash set, but ultimately went for the Sachertorte set for ¥1430, with a Viennese-style café latte called Melange. It was served promptly. The whipped cream was not too sweet, and the chocolate had a crispy texture with the jam's sweetness being just right. It wasn't overly sweet, and I enjoyed it with the Melange. It's a relaxed atmosphere without being too crowded.

Cafe Wien on the 2nd floor of Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi. I was able to enter without waiting around 4 pm on a Sunday. The interior of the cafe has an elegant atmosphere with a red color scheme, resembling a classy mansion. I ordered the Coffee Jelly for 990 yen and the Pancake Set for 1430 yen. The service was quite fast after ordering. The Coffee Jelly had salted caramel ice cream on top with caramelized almond slices, which was delicious. There was also vanilla ice cream at the bottom, which paired well with the coffee jelly. The overall taste was on the sweeter side, so if you prefer a stronger coffee flavor, it might be a bit disappointing. I personally enjoyed it a lot. The pancakes were made of thin layers and were sweet on their own, so they were tasty even without syrup. They went well with the vanilla ice cream. The orange juice was fresh and delicious, and I believe the Sachertorte, which is a specialty of this cafe, must be very tasty as well. The cafe was spacious and had a relaxing atmosphere, with people reading books or chatting. The prices were reasonable for a cafe inside Mitsukoshi. I would like to visit again for a break.

I visited this café located inside Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi, as the name suggests, it is a Vienna cuisine specialty store. I tried the Schwarzwälder and Sachertorte. The Schwarzwälder is a parfait inspired by the Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte. It is reasonably priced at around 900 yen for a single serving. Although this store has been around for quite some time, I believe this particular item may have been introduced in the past few years to capitalize on the parfait trend. It was quite good. The Sachertorte, on the other hand, was something I hadn't had in a while at a specialty store. While it may not match the sweetness of the original, it still had a good balance and maintained the crispy texture of the Sachertorte glaze, which was a nice touch. The retro-chic atmosphere was also enjoyable and relaxing. I had a great time and would love to visit again if given the chance. Thank you for the meal.

I went to Mitsukoshi in Nihonbashi to see the spring exhibition. The café on the second floor, Café Wien, is a lovely coffee shop with red velvet chairs lined up. Today, I got takeout. I got the Sachertorte for 756 yen and the Apfel for 756 yen. The Apfel is an apple pie with lots of fruit chunks. The Sachertorte has orange jam under the chocolate. It comes with a lightly sweetened whipped cream. This is my favorite place to go.

I visited Café Wien located in Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi. It is a cafe themed after Vienna, and their famous dish is the Austrian chocolate cake, Sachertorte. On this day, I had the Sachertorte cake set and Vienna's café latte, Melange. What I had: - Sachertorte - Café Melange The Sachertorte had a rich flavor. The atmosphere was relaxed, and I ended up staying longer than planned. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

I stopped by at Mitsukoshi for shopping. It was a weekday morning, with only one other customer present. The atmosphere was calm, and the store was spacious. The service staff were polite and everything was pleasant. I had the Sachertorte with coffee as a set (1430 yen). The Sachertorte came with a generous amount of unsweetened whipped cream. It was a rich and heavy cake. The coffee was refillable (330 yen), so I had another cup. They also serve Viennese cuisine for lunch. It's a nice place to relax after shopping at Mitsukoshi.

I heard about this place from a friend who was looking for Sachertorte. It's located near a lion statue, and as soon as you go up the stairs, you'll find the shop. There were people waiting in chairs, but I was seated quickly as they opened. The interior of the shop is very calm. I ordered the Sachertorte by itself. It's great that you don't have to order a drink with it. The rich Sachertorte was incredibly delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I stopped by because I wanted to eat delicious Sachertorte. The Sachertorte had the taste I was hoping for. The rich chocolate, the crunchy sugar texture of the jam, and the not-too-sweet cream were a great combination. I finished it in no time. I chose Viennese-style café au lait for my drink. It was a bit lighter in flavor than I expected, but maybe that's how it's supposed to be. It's a bit unbalanced compared to the quality of the cake. But the cake is delicious, so I might stop by again.
