After finishing swimming around 9 p.m., I usually have about an hour to spend at the facility before heading home. Normally, I would take a leisurely bath, study for exams until the last minute, or do some self-practice. However, my second son was arriving at Aoto Station around 10 p.m., so I decided to go somewhere with him. I found a cheap restaurant near the sports club that caught my interest, but I didn't have the courage to go in alone to a local bar at night. I called the restaurant, but they said they were closed for the day. As I waited for my son at the station, I noticed a restaurant right in front of me and decided to go in. It was a place similar to a "dollar store" version of a bar, with prices even cheaper than Kagaya. The menu items were around 80-100 yen, and drinks were priced at 300 yen. The place had a simple layout with a counter near the entrance and tables in the back. The staff, who seemed to be young part-timers, were friendly and welcoming. We ordered various dishes like fried chicken, black fish cake fry, croquettes, and skewers, along with cucumber, tomato, and potato salad. We also ordered horse mackerel nanban, but I still felt a bit unsatisfied as there weren't many carbohydrates. We ended up ordering more food and drinks, and the bill came to around 2500 yen for the two of us. My son treated me, and I was surprised by how cheap it was, especially after he had two drinks. The staff smiled and thanked us, inviting us to come again. It was a bright and cheerful atmosphere, and I couldn't help but think that these kinds of places are where you should go to drink, instead of spending a lot of money on dining out during the day. I had a great time with my son, but I ended up eating too much as usual. My eating habits always seem to be like this...
