マダム・チェチーリア
Without any doubt, I arrived in front of the shop and was surprised to find that the Taiwanese small dish restaurant, Rakushuken, was unexpectedly closed on Thursdays, even on a snowy day! My dad, Leiche, said, "It's probably more like Jonathan than Bamiyan," for some unknown reason. So, for the first time, I went to Pololokka, which had become a Maruetsu next to the market, using the elevator to the 2nd floor. The restaurant was not crowded, with only a few customers in their 30s, with an equal ratio of men and women. In the back booth, there was a group of three Filipino women who seemed to be having fun showing each other photos on their smartphones. The customer base was completely different from the predominantly elderly customers at the Gusto Denenchofu store on Harada-dori, although the time of day was different. We ordered using a touch panel - I quickly decided on the Fukafure rice and oyster fry set for ¥1539 since they had oyster fry. My dad couldn't decide and finally settled on the Hokkaido corn soup for ¥275, followed by the Beef and Vegetable Pan Stew for ¥989 and the Setouchi Shirasu and Hijiki Japanese-style salad for ¥275. We had to wait about 10 minutes. My dad also pointed out that they had wine for ¥99 per glass, which was 250ml and ¥219 after tax. It was called Skairaku wine, and it was surprisingly good - not too sweet. The Skairaku Group is promoting food loss reduction by providing take-out containers and displaying the Food Loss Project recommended by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in between menu screens like a commercial. The staff didn't talk much, just welcoming us at the entrance and then showing us to our seats. I accidentally pressed the button for a hot towel before dessert, but they kindly smiled and accommodated my mistake. The oysters in the oyster fry were from Hiroshima and were small but delicious. The Fukafure rice was good, with visible pieces of fukahire and a nice spinach sauce. The Setouchi shirasu Japanese-style salad could have been more carefully prepared, as it was just a plate of cut vegetables with a little seaweed and shirasu scattered on top. The beef and vegetable pan stew, poured into a hollowed-out bread, was a hit - the beef was a bit tough, but the chunks were large and the bread was delicious. This was a pleasant surprise! Our order numbers were 57 for the Fukafure rice, 59 for the Hokkaido corn soup, and 207 and 205 for the pan stew and Japanese-style salad, respectively. We decided to have dessert as well, ordering the National Strawberry and Chocolate Ice Cream Parfait for ¥879 and the Pudding a la Mode for ¥659. The pudding was homemade, but it had a slightly diluted custard taste. We enjoyed our meal for about 45 minutes at the table by the window. When we paid, we saw a notice that reservations for Jonathan's Christmas 2020 decorations would start on December 10th, with a decorated cake for ¥2500, a chocolate cake for ¥3000, and a strawberry shortcake for ¥3300. The most surprising thing was the limited quantity roast chicken baked whole at their own factory for ¥980! I prayed for a warm Christmas for everyone on Earth as I waited for the elevator to come up to the 2nd floor.
