On a sunny day, I visited Toyosu Market. After walking around, I felt a bit thirsty. I ordered an Ice Matcha Monaka. It was so delicious! When I was a child, I didn't like ice cream monaka. I couldn't understand why anyone would enjoy that soggy texture. But then I realized something. Freshly made ice cream monaka is actually delicious. The ones I had before were not true monaka. They were monaka that had been defrosted multiple times in the showcase, causing the ice cream to seep into the skin. The key to a good ice cream monaka is the crispy skin. The skin's life is short. So, let's enjoy it before it gets soggy. The ice matcha monaka at this place had a crispy skin and a perfect balance of bitter matcha and sweet red bean paste. It was truly delicious. Eating ice cream monaka under the autumn sky with a cool breeze was a special experience. The low humidity of late autumn might have enhanced its flavor.

The popular traditional Japanese cafe, Hokusai Teahouse, has opened a branch at the Tsukiji Market Edo-mae Basho-machi Gourmet. When I visited during lunchtime on a weekday, there were only a few customers present. The cafe has a counter seating arrangement in a U-shape, with one side displaying various sweets for takeout. I ordered the Tokunoshima black honey kinako shaved ice with red bean topping. The shaved ice had a crunchy texture and was generously topped with black honey syrup from Tokushima, which added a rich sweetness. Sprinkling the kinako powder provided on a separate plate enhanced the nutty flavor. The red bean topping had a slightly chewy texture and added a nice touch of sweetness with a hint of saltiness. Overall, it was a delicious treat perfect for satisfying a sweet craving.

Located just a 1-minute walk from Yurikamome Ichiba-mae Station, this shop is in the Edo-style shopping district. The main store is a famous sweets shop in Kinshicho. I purchased a coffee here and enjoyed it at the outdoor table space. The inside of the shop was crowded, so I preferred to relax outside.

Walnut butter Dorayaki for 281 yen. The strong flavor of walnuts and the saltiness of butter are accents. Similar to the combination of watermelon and salt, the sweetness of Dorayaki is enhanced. It is quite delicious when combined with the flavor of walnuts. Thank you for the meal!

This is a sweets shop in the downtown area of Edo-style market. You can also order for takeout, but if you order monaka or dorayaki, you can eat at the counter seats. There is nothing particularly special about the taste, but since there are mostly sushi restaurants around, it was a nice change of pace.

Special red bean soup with rice cakes for 1210 yen. It's a small portion suitable for after a meal. The mochi skin and black syrup are thin. The rice cakes are delicious, but all of them are small. The red beans and agar jelly are also small. Comes with banana, kiwi, orange, and grapefruit slices. 2 pieces of sweet bean paste, 3 rice cakes. Matcha ice cream, vanilla? ice cream. The ice cream tastes familiar, like something I've had before.

This is a shop located in the Edo-style castle town in front of Toyosu Station. I realized that the name of the shop was familiar, and it turns out it was the Katsushika Hokusai Tea House in Kinshicho. It had been a while since I last visited, so I decided to have some anmitsu and tea. I ordered the Shichifuku Shunichi, which I had tried a few times at the Kinshicho shop. The appearance is cute, but I still think that citrus fruits don't quite go well with anmitsu. The mochi skin was crispy and added a nice texture to the anmitsu.

Visited the "Hokusai Teahouse" dessert shop located just a 1-minute walk from the Shijomae Station on the Yurikamome Line. It opened on January 24th at the Toyosu Market's "Edomae Jokamachi" section. Arrived shortly after opening and was the third in line, so was able to order smoothly. Ordered the moist dorayaki for 195 yen. The sweet red bean paste and moist cake were delicious. Enjoyed it until the last bite.

I had lunch at Tsukiji Market and then wandered around the area near the Market Front Station, where I found "Edo-style castle town". The set with warabi mochi and matcha was great.

I took a leisurely walk in Toyosu and had a relaxing break with shaved ice and dorayaki. I will definitely go back again! (´・ω・`)
