The appetizers, salads, sashimi, chicken udon, everything was delicious! The cost performance is great, the staff are friendly, and the atmosphere is cozy. The beer was perfectly chilled too! I don't usually go to Yotsuya, but I will definitely go back!

I visited this restaurant for the first time to celebrate its 14th anniversary. The fish was fresh, and the newly cooked rice was shiny and delicious! Although the prices are not cheap, I think the cost performance is reasonable or good. Also, I felt that the rice was very cheap at 190 yen for one serving of new rice! The staff were mostly young and all had a good attitude with friendly service. It's close to the station, and I would like to use this restaurant again as there are other things I want to eat!

Even as an adult, I sometimes eat in Yotsuya and the food there is exceptionally delicious. The variety of the menu, the flavors, and the cheerful attitude of the staff are all highlights. It had been a while since I visited Kurumiya. I went with a friend because we had differing opinions. The place was moderately crowded but we were seated promptly. We ordered from today's menu, including firefly squid salted roe, deep-fried taro, pickled burdock root, fox salad, fried chicken, night crying tanuki udon, and kama-tama udon. The food was delicious as always. However, there seemed to be a mix-up with our orders as some dishes took a long time to arrive. When we asked, we were told that they hadn't been prepared yet, so we had to cancel them. There were many regular customers enjoying their meals and chatting happily, but I couldn't help but notice some operational issues that were affecting the service. Despite the tasty food, I had to deduct some points this time. I hope to visit again when I feel like it. Thank you for the meal!

I went to the popular udon izakaya called Kurumiya in Yotsuya. I had wanted to go there for a while, but it was always full whenever I tried to go, so I finally got in. It seems like it's better to make a reservation in advance. Every dish had a good amount of volume and was delicious with attention to detail. The appetizers, salad, grilled young chicken, and udon were all delicious and satisfying. The staff were on the younger side. I will definitely come back.

With a traditional and calm atmosphere, I felt a bit anxious as a solo female entering the restaurant, but I was relieved when I was seated at the counter. I ordered the mentaiko cream udon with ground sesame and fresh shiso flavor, which was delicious with its chewy udon noodles and creamy sauce. I even enjoyed the leftover mentaiko cream by drinking it up. I added a side of lotus root tempura for ¥100, which was small but freshly fried and tasty. It would have been better to choose the rice set for an additional ¥200 or just order the side dish. The overall portion was a bit small, but the taste was very satisfying! I would like to try dining here at night if I have the chance.

This year, I'm going to go bar-hopping again! So, I visited Kurumiya, a place known for delicious udon and chicken. I went early, but it was busy due to the holiday. The Yotsuya area is quiet on holidays, so popular spots get busy early. It's no problem for me since I like to leisurely drink. I ordered the following dishes: - Appetizers: Fried chicken, tofu in broth - Onion slices - Yudofu (hot tofu) - Karaage (fried chicken) - Nira-tama (leek and egg) - Sliced jellyfish with ponzu sauce - Fried cartilage - Mentaiko cream udon Some dishes were sold out, but it was not a problem. The two staff members were very attentive and I appreciate their service. The food was delicious. The biggest surprise of the night was the Nira-tama dish. When it arrived, there was an egg yolk on top of the leeks, which was unexpected and made me burst into laughter. It was surprisingly delicious! The leeks were boiled, topped with egg yolk, and served with broth. Perfect for drinking! I ended the meal with mentaiko cream udon, which was smooth and flavorful. Even though it was the last dish, I couldn't stop eating. I love the cozy atmosphere at Kurumiya. The staff is energetic and efficient, and they let you know if there will be a delay, which I appreciate. It's a great restaurant. Thank you for the meal! I will definitely visit again!

Spicy pork dipping udon in Yotsuya. On holidays, many stores are closed. I came across this place. It looks like an izakaya, but udon is the main dish for lunch. I had the pork dipping udon, and my wife had the large shrimp and burdock tempura. The tempura my wife had was huge. Mine is supposed to have sesame seeds. I slurp the udon with sesame seeds. Yes, it's spicy. It has a spicy taste similar to kenchin. There's plenty of pork in it. The udon is not very firm, and I prefer it firmer. Since it's not like Musashino udon, I think I would have preferred a lighter soy sauce-based broth. Thank you for the meal. The portion was normal, but it was satisfying.

Excellent atmosphere! Kuranoya is a great place to relax. I visited early in the day, so I was able to take it easy. Kuranoya is known for their popular udon lunch menu. I also heard that they serve delicious udon at night, so I decided to visit. They have a wide range of dishes, from daily recommendations to classic menu items. I ordered onion slices, small horse mackerel nanban-zuke, fried chicken, corn tempura, Okinawa mozuku vinegar, homemade shumai with leeks, grated bonito sashimi, chili cheese potatoes, and hot tanuki udon, among others. For drinks, they offer draft beer and highballs. I opted for plum wine hot water because I was feeling cold. Everything was delicious - the udon was smooth and chewy, and the tanuki udon with pickled plum was refreshing. My companion had kama-tama udon. They offer a variety of udon dishes, so I highly recommend trying them. They specialize in chicken dishes like chicken sashimi, chicken tempura, and simmered giblets. I want to try a variety of dishes next time. They also have a wide selection of sake. The efficient staff provided great service. I would love to try their curry udon next time. "I ordered the 'Haikara Bukkake Udon' for 720 yen and added the 'Rice Set' for 200 yen. The 'Haikara Bukkake Udon' came with tempura flakes, bonito flakes, grated daikon radish, large leaf, and pickled plum, creating a refreshing bukkake udon. The rice set allows you to choose between seasoned dried baby sardines with Japanese pepper rice or chicken soboro rice. The udon was served with plenty of broth, looking like a typical kake udon at first glance. The bowl felt cold to the touch. I grated the sesame seeds myself and added them to the bowl. The broth had a slightly spicy and subtle dashi flavor. The udon noodles were firm, almost on the hard side, lacking the usual chewiness and elasticity associated with good udon noodles. The 'Rice Set' seemed to automatically come with chicken soboro without being asked about the choice, but it was fine as I was indifferent between the two options. In my opinion, this bukkake udon felt more like a cold udon dish. It was different from the usual bukkake udon where a small amount of strong udon broth is poured over chewy and elastic udon noodles to enjoy their texture!"

I visited the restaurant around 11:30 am on a weekday with no other customers. It was a bit chilly, so I decided to have warm udon. I chose the shrimp and burdock tempura udon for 850 yen, which looked delicious. The noodles come in small, regular, or large sizes for the same price. I asked if the large size was too much, and they said it should be fine if I was hungry, so I went with the large size. It took about 10 minutes for the udon to arrive. The broth was light in color, similar to Kansai-style. The tempura was different than expected - shrimp tempura and burdock tempura were served separately. The burdock tempura looked overcooked and dark. There was a sesame grinder provided, so I sprinkled some sesame seeds on my udon. First, I tried the udon. The noodles and broth were delicious, reminiscent of Sanuki-style. The large size was definitely manageable. How about the tempura? It seemed to be marinated like fried chicken. It might have been slightly overcooked, but the freshly fried shrimp and burdock were tasty. Both the udon and tempura exceeded my expectations. It was a delightful meal.

This was my first visit. I visited before 3:00 pm, which is lunchtime. The restaurant is completely non-smoking, which is great. I ordered the oil-drizzled chicken set meal and upgraded the miso soup to cold udon for an additional 200 yen. It's hard to tell from the photo, but the oil-drizzled chicken is cut into easy-to-eat pieces. The taste is quite good. The udon noodles are thin and have a good texture, but the broth was not that great. I should have just stuck with the miso soup.

Kake udon for 580 yen, 2 pieces of karaage for 400 yen at Kurumiya (Yotsuya). The udon broth is delicious with a good umami flavor from the kelp, slightly sweet and tasty. It seems to go well with pickled plum and seaweed. The udon noodles are decent, but if you're having it for lunch as a substitute for soup, the broth is delicious enough on its own. The recommended karaage at this restaurant is a large piece of thigh meat cut into chunks, each piece weighing around 90g. The cooking is just right, resulting in tender and juicy karaage. It's so juicy that if this isn't juicy, then what is! Oh, the Okinawan mixed rice was also juicy.

I ordered the Hiyakara Bukkake Udon and Soboro Rice set meal. The Hiyakara Bukkake Udon came in a large bowl with thick and chewy udon noodles, topped with umeboshi and a refreshing broth, which was very delicious! The Soboro Rice in the set was a perfect match with white rice and soy sauce-flavored minced chicken. It was really tasty! Thank you for the meal!

I usually get the small shrimp and burdock tempura, but this time I decided to try something different because burdock might not be good for my teeth. I ordered a medium-sized udon, which is the same price as the small and large sizes. The toppings included grated seaweed, bonito flakes, green onions, pickled plum, and tempura crumbs. The broth was slightly sweet, and the udon had a good texture. The pickled plum added a nice touch. I think the tempura crumbs were store-bought, which was a bit disappointing. My body feels warm and cozy now.

On this day, I won a shogi tournament in Yotsuya (although it was for lower-ranked players) so I was in a good mood and decided to try out this restaurant that I had been curious about for a while. Since it was 4:00 pm, there was only one other group besides us. I ordered curry udon and a bottle of beer. The curry udon was smooth and quite delicious. (Personally, I would have preferred it to be a bit spicier) Unfortunately, the staff seemed to be chatting with regular customers rather than focusing on serving us. I would have preferred if they had been more attentive to their customers.

On Sunday around 2:00 PM, we stopped by a restaurant with our family after visiting our grandparents' graves. Even on Sundays, they offer a great lunch deal. The udon noodles come in small, regular, and large sizes, all for the same price (Small 200g, Regular 300g, Large 400g). There were so many choices, but I decided to go with the Chikuta-ma Tempura Udon (¥790) in the regular size. The udon noodles were shiny, had a good texture, and were easy to eat. Squeezing lemon over it made it even more refreshing and delicious. I thought the large size might be too much, so I ordered the regular, but it turned out I could have easily eaten the large size too. I didn't take a photo, but the chicken tempura was large, with a strong garlic soy sauce flavor that was satisfying and tasty! The weekly special creative udon dishes on the wall were also appealing, and if this restaurant were closer to home, I would definitely become a regular. It's a shame it's far from home, but I hope to visit again. Thank you for the meal! 🍜

I wanted to eat udon but also wanted to drink alcohol, so I was looking for a place that serves delicious side dishes. I found a udon izakaya and made a reservation. Tonight's order was: 1. Today's salad - full of nutritious vegetables, feels like cleansing the body. 2. Chicken liver sashimi - the staff said it's in good condition, shiny and smooth, very delicious. 3. Fried chicken - big pieces, double-fried for extra crispiness, served with a secret blend salt. 4. Conger eel tempura - not too thick but crispy coating, sweet sauce, and eel in good balance, very tasty. 5. Kitsune udon tempura - a unique menu with udon inside fried tofu, tasted better than expected, especially with the dipping sauce. Everything I ordered was delicious! The service was great, and I had a pleasant and enjoyable time. I will definitely come back!

I arrived at Udon Yotsuya Kurumiya, just a 2-3 minute walk from Yotsuya Station. I noticed that the lunch menu offers the same price for small, regular, and large udon, so I decided to go in. It was around 12:15 and the restaurant was almost full, so we sat at a table in the back with a stranger. I ordered the curry nanban udon (regular size for 790 yen), while my companion went for this week's lunch special, the cold beef shigure udon (large size). After waiting for about 20 minutes, my companion's umewakame udon arrived, which was a mix-up. They apologized and offered to make the correct order, but my companion couldn't wait any longer. My curry nanban udon arrived shortly after, and it was different from what I expected - it was more like a curry sauce poured over the noodles. It had a nice texture and flavor, especially with the mini tomato on top. We quickly finished our meals as time was running out, and at the time of payment, my companion wanted to order the beef shigure udon again, but I reminded them that it's Friday, so Wakame and pickled plum won't give you the energy you need (laughs).
