Having lunch at the university cafeteria of Takuji University. They are having a Christmas Fair with different daily specials. Today's special is "Chicken Confit with Warm Vegetables, Salad, Consomme Soup, and Rice" for 420 yen. The salad, served in a separate dish, consists of cabbage, cucumber, and tomato. The consomme soup is oddly served in a paper cup and has a safe taste. The chicken, generously portioned, is accompanied by warm vegetables including potatoes, broccoli, and carrots. Despite lacking the crispy skin as advertised, the chicken was delicious and I finished it all.

Lunch on April 14, 2018 (Saturday) ☺️ In February, there was a news program segment on TV about popular school lunches, such as the "Giga Don 1Kg for 650 yen," so I made a note to check it out. Since it's a school cafeteria, they are closed on Saturdays in March, so now that it's April, I decided to give it a try. I arrived at 10:30 am as advised because the store gets crowded with students after 11:30 am. The store is new and clean, with over 400 seats. I ordered the Chicken Mayo Don (370 yen) and Ebi Tempura Soba (260 yen) for myself, the Giga Don (650 yen) for my older brother, and the Bunkyo Don (420 yen) for my younger brother. The food came quickly, and it was delicious. The Giga Don had tonkatsu, fried chicken, and ginger pork on a bed of cabbage. The Bunkyo Don had garlic pride on top of a beef bowl with mayo. The taste was surprisingly good for a school cafeteria, and the prices and portions were satisfying. We added Curry Rice (280 yen) and Shoyu Ramen (280 yen) to share, and they were also delicious. Overall, it was a great meal at an affordable price. I will check out other university cafeterias in the future. Ah, it was so delicious. Thank you for the meal. 😊✨
