Kyoto Yaoya Ichi Honkan's bakery. Whenever you come and whatever you eat, there is no disappointment. The Horn is a bread with a crunchy cream made of sugar and butter sandwiched in a chewy French bread-like dough. It was the most delicious of the three I bought this time. The Potato Bread is a moist and chewy meal bread with mashed potatoes kneaded into the dough. I baked it until it had a nice brown color, spread some butter on it, and ate it. It was also delicious. The limited edition cream puff has a soft and moist dough with a different texture of crushed almonds on top that combines well with the cream and was delicious.

I visited "THE BREAD" for the first time and became a fan, and have visited a few times since. One of my favorite items from this bakery is the "An Butter" priced at 230 yen (tax included). It's a sandwich with a baguette, which is quite unusual. The butter is generously spread, and the balance between the baguette's firmness and the butter's softness is just perfect. The saltiness of the butter and the sweetness of the red bean paste are just right. It's delicious and worth the price. The only downside is that it has a short shelf life, so it's best to consume it on the same day. I will definitely go back for more!

Very affordable and conveniently located! Located inside Yaoyaichi, this popular bakery has a rating of 3.59 as of August 2023. They offer a variety of both hard and soft breads, including all the basic types. There were no other customers when I visited before 2 p.m. on a weekday, and the seating area was also empty.
[Items purchased]
French toast ¥150
Croquette sandwich ¥250
Corn galette ¥200
Salted bean paste bread ¥150
Rum raisin milk bread ¥230
Despite being located in the supposedly "high-end" Yaoyaichi, the prices were surprisingly cheap! The taste, however, was just average (^_^;) There was nothing particularly unique, just your typical everyday bread. So, it's best not to have too high expectations despite the high rating. (Sorry) It's a very convenient place to stop by and buy bread for the next day while doing your shopping. I recommend it to those living in Kyoto. Thank you for the meal!

Stylish bakery in Kyoto!!! I visited this shop when I felt a little hungry at night. Since I visited at night, there weren't many products left. The building where this shop is located has a luxurious feel, so I thought the quality wouldn't be low.

Anpan and other items were already sold out. There were only a few varieties of side dishes. It is possible to eat in. The weather was bad, but for bread lovers, that doesn't matter. It is already a part of their lifestyle. I bought a cream bread and a simple bread with nothing inside. The custard cream was packed inside heavily.

Visited the bakery "The Bread" at the famous and slightly high-end supermarket "Yaoyaichi" in Kyoto. Tried the Gobo and Tuna Sesame Bread (¥190) - a crunchy sesame bread filled with a salad of burdock root and tuna mixed with mayonnaise. It had a satisfying texture. Also tried the Spinach Baton (¥180) - a chewy bread with spinach scattered throughout. It was just delicious in a normal way.

I had heard that the bakery inside Yaoyaichi was quite good, so I wanted to stop by. When I entered through the special entrance, there was a seating area first, and then the bread was displayed in the back. This time, my daughter and I decided to buy three sweet breads and two savory breads. The milk French bread and melon bread were above average, especially the milk French bread which I really liked. There are many bakeries in this area, so it's hard to decide where to buy from.

While on my way to work, I happened to pass by this bakery that I had never been to before. It had a typical bakery feel, located next to a food market, making it convenient to stop by. I was surprised by how reasonable the prices were for this area. I bought my favorite breads: Croissant @230 yen (tax included) and Morning Bread @190 yen (tax included). When I got home and tried them, they were surprisingly delicious, exceeding my expectations. I couldn't help but exclaim, "What is this?!" I regretted not buying more at that price. It's not far from my workplace, so I'll definitely be going back. The texture of the bread was perfect - crispy, flaky, and crunchy. It wasn't too sweet, and you could really taste the wheat and butter. Overall, it was so delicious! I've definitely become a repeat customer.

Located in Kyoto, there is a slightly upscale supermarket called "Yaoyichi". Next to the supermarket, there is a bakery with a straightforward name, "The Bread". When it comes to bakeries next to supermarkets, the image is usually affordable but lacking in taste and presentation. However, The Bread at Yaoyichi is exceptional. They make use of the delicious vegetables from the supermarket to create a variety of savory bread. The visual appeal is also impressive. They offer bread with plenty of vegetables and mushrooms, as well as Kyoto-inspired ingredient bread like "dashi roll bread". They even have a variety of curry bread. The prices are reasonable, making it even better. Some examples of their prices are: - Creamy curry bread: 200 yen - Bacon and Kujo green onion epi bread: 260 yen - Sweet curry bread: 190 yen - Horn bread: 230 yen These breads are loved by people of all ages and genders. The creative vegetable bread is recommended, but the sweet bread is also delicious. My favorite, the "Horn" bread, is a simple pastry made with French bread dough, butter, and granulated sugar. The crunchy sweet butter and sugar are irresistible. The bakery has a nostalgic atmosphere with many different types of bread. Although the apple tart was sold out on the day of my visit, it is a popular choice. The "Coconut Pineapple" bread also looked delicious. The affordable bread made with fresh vegetables and fruits from the grocery store is perfect for daily enjoyment. Thank you for the delicious meal!

A bakery near Karasuma Oike Station. Visited for the first time on a holiday afternoon. There are 4 counter seats and 4 tables for 2 people for dining in. I tried the following:
- Burdock and tuna sandwich for 190 yen (tax included). The burdock was crunchy, and the tuna and corn were fragrant. They warmed it up for me in the microwave.
- Apple juice for 90 yen.
- Red grape juice for 90 yen.
Everything was very delicious and reasonably priced. It was a relaxing experience.

The second stop on the Kyoto bakery tour was The Bread. The store looks almost like a supermarket in the town, with lots of bread lined up in one corner. The items I purchased this time were:
- Melty curry bread
- Curry bread
- Horn
- Bacon and green onion epi
The two curry breads were only different in size and I couldn't really tell the difference in the curry sauce. However, both had a mild taste, lots of filling, and were delicious. The horn with salty buttercream was quite good. The bacon and green onion epi had a hint of sesame oil flavor that whet my appetite. The savory breads were surprisingly tasty and had great value for money. I recommend this place for those who want to fill up on bread. Thank you for the meal!

It's a bakery located inside a slightly upscale supermarket. They offer reasonably priced items such as a baguette with leeks and bacon, and an apple pie. Both were delicious and good value for money. Most people would be satisfied with the quality. The leeks had a strong aroma, which lingered in the mouth even after finishing the bread, so it's best to be mindful of when you eat it. Thank you for the meal.

In Kyoto, there is a famous supermarket called "Yaoyaichi". They offer a wide variety of fresh vegetables and other specialty ingredients. Inside the store, there is also a bakery called "The Bread". They have an attractive selection of bread made with Kyoto's vegetables and fruits. I bought the Bacon and Kujo Negi Epi (260 yen). The aroma of the bread and Kujo Negi (a type of green onion) combined to stimulate my appetite. The Kujo Negi has a strong onion flavor, is sweet, and has a great aroma that doesn't get overshadowed by the bacon. This is a fantastic bread that can only be found at Yaoyaichi.

I took out some bakery bread from The Bread located on the 1st floor of Kyoto 801 Honkan. The bread made with fresh vegetables is delicious. Personally, when it comes to just the bread, it's average... but the sandwiches are excellent. The vegetables are so tasty that they almost outshine the bread. It's like how a good side dish can enhance the flavor of rice. My top recommendation is the "Kujyo Negi Bacon Epi" sandwich. The crispy green onions are sweet and delicious. I also bought croissants, baguettes, and crescents. I really like crescents. The buttery flavor, moist and fluffy interior, and the salty and firm exterior are all great. I also tried the potato bread at the Savory restaurant on the 2nd floor, and it was delicious too. I will definitely come back. These are like bread that tastes like a meal.

Pastrami and Brie Cheese - 2.5/5
The bread was good. The parts with Brie cheese were delicious, but there wasn't much of it.
Red bean paste with butter - 5/5
The bread, red bean paste, and butter were all delicious. The red bean paste was not too sweet, bringing out the flavors of the bread and butter. Thank you for the meal.

Located in the heart of Kyoto, near Rokkaku-dori, is Yaoya Ippon-kan. A modern spot that stands out from the traditional machiya buildings in the area. The first floor houses a supermarket, while the second floor features a deli, liquor store, and wine shop. It is truly a hub of food culture, with a mix of Japanese and Western restaurants, as well as a bakery. The bakery corner on the first floor offers beautifully crafted bread, with a special mention to the vegetable bread that captures the fresh seasonal essence of Yaoya Ippon-kan. A must-visit spot in the competitive bread scene of Kyoto.

Located 3-5 minutes walk from Karasuma Oike Station, The Bread is a bakery attached to Kyoto Yatsuhashi Honkan. This bakery, which feels like a supermarket, offers discounts in the evening. You can purchase bread along with ingredients, making it a great choice for those looking to buy bread as a side dish for cooking. This time, I purchased the popular Croquette Bread and Curry Bread. The Croquette Bread, made with croquettes from Izutsuya, is very thick and satisfying, with a sweet taste of vegetables packed inside the croquette, a crunchy texture of cabbage, and a delicious combination of mayonnaise. The Curry Bread was also of stable quality and quite delicious. If you happen to visit a supermarket in Kyoto, be sure to stop by. Thank you for the meal!

I had some free time on Saturday at 11:40, so I decided to drop by "Kyoto Yaoyacho" and discovered a bakery inside. I bought two of their unique bacon epi breads for 240 yen each. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.
