I ordered a draft beer for only ¥190, chicken yukke with a raw egg for ¥480, a pyramid of skewers for ¥500, juicy tsukune meatballs for ¥350, a mountain of french fries for ¥450, sizzling corn butter for ¥450, and vanilla and matcha ice cream for ¥90 each. For takeout, I got the garlic soy sauce fried chicken for ¥550, a curry skewer for ¥180, and a chicken thigh skewer for ¥150. The restaurant is famous for its skewers, especially the crispy chicken skin skewers, and has sold over 100 million skewers. The founder, former professional soccer player Naofumi Sano, created the popular dish. I highly recommend visiting Shinjidai when you're in Shinbashi.

The cost performance is excellent. That's the bottom line. The recommended skewers disappear in no time, and getting seconds is definitely an option. For a weekday lunch drink, I had a Oolong Highball for 290 yen, a classic Punch Lemon Sour for 290 yen, 5 "Denkushi" skewers at 50 yen each, Salted Cabbage for 250 yen, and a complimentary dish of simmered hijiki and soybeans for 300 yen. This place is known for originating the "Denkushi" skewers made from chicken skin, which are described as the best in Japan and made with zero salt, Korean ginseng, and soybeans. There were solo female customers at the counter, as well as an elderly man with white hair who seemed a bit drunk. The skewers and cabbage were quite salty, catering more to those who prefer strong flavors. The total bill came to 1,518 yen excluding tax, which I paid with a credit card.

I heard that chicken skin is delicious, so I had to go! I ordered the medium pyramid. This is delicious! It's different from Kawaya in Hakata, fried to a crispy texture and topped with a sweet sauce. Much better than Kawaya! I couldn't stop eating. You can also take out, so I took home a medium pyramid (10 pieces). I was told about this place, it's great! I'll definitely be coming back!
