LunchBox
"Preliar Seijo" is located diagonally across from this shop. On the second floor is "Kichijoan". I love sushi, but currently, there are hardly any sushi restaurants in the Seijo area. There used to be many. "Hanazushi", "Sushi Hachi", "Sushigen", and "Sushitakahashi" were located a bit far from the station, and there was "Takeyama" in Seijo Corty, but they have all disappeared. Now, there is only "Jyanomezushi" left. I often visit this place because it is close by, but I often feel a bit unsatisfied. I really like their Tokuzushi (12 nigiri, 3 maki rolls, tamago) for ¥3520. I used to come here twice a week just to eat the Tokuzushi (laughs). It's not anything special, but I think it's just delicious. However, after visiting here, I strongly feel that not only the taste but also the customer service and atmosphere of the restaurant are important. So, my visits have decreased for a while. Currently, due to the corona pandemic, I am refraining from going out and only staying within walking distance, so when I want to eat sushi, I end up coming here near my home. The interior of the restaurant has a counter and several 4-seater table seats, and the table seats have partitions, making it somewhat like a semi-private room, creating a calm atmosphere. They are implementing thorough corona measures, with humidifiers at each table. On this day, I asked for the recommended lunch sushi set. It came with a small side dish, 6 pieces of sushi, and red miso soup, which is perfect for when you want to eat less. The small side dish was seaweed and vinegar miso salad, and the sushi included chutoro, sea bream, shrimp, sea urchin, conger eel, and horse mackerel. I think it was just delicious. However, the staff members all seemed to lack smiles and energy. Are they all tired? The restaurant is usually relatively empty, but even if I wanted to call the attention of the staff, they didn't seem to notice. Even after finishing my meal, the bill took a long time to arrive. When I finally decided to leave, there was no one at the payment counter, and there was only one other customer at the table next to mine. There was no one at the counter either. There are two staff members in charge of the hall, but they were nowhere to be found. There is a lot of wasted time. With the opening of "Sushi Aoi" in front of the station, I wonder if this place will be okay as it is. Seijo has few sushi restaurants, so I hope they continue to do their best.
