About a 5-minute walk from Hibiya Line Iriya Station. This restaurant is not listed on Tabelog, so I decided to write the first review while registering it. Located near Iraya Station, in a residential area just off the "Kinbikan Street". It's a local meat shop that has been rooted in the community for a long time and seems to be well-loved. Most customers are called by their last names or first names. While it is a meat shop, more than 80% of customers come for side dishes and fried foods. On the day I visited, the popular items like fried foods and grilled pork were selling quickly. I bought croquettes and minced meat as souvenirs for my family. The minced meat is even named "Iriya minced meat". There are two types of croquettes and minced meat, like regular and premium. I asked the staff about the difference, and they said it's the quality of the meat and breadcrumbs. I usually opt for the regular, but this time I went for the premium out of guilt from my usual drinking habits. The croquette regular (old-fashioned) is 90 yen, while the premium is 140 yen. The minced meat regular is 140 yen, and the premium is 190 yen. The fried foods here are made to order, so it takes some time. If you are in a hurry, it's better to call ahead and pick up at the designated time. On this day, the place was crowded, so I had to wait about 15 minutes. The irresistible smell of lard. I wanted to bite into it right away, but I restrained myself. After about 15 minutes, my family and I tried the food. First, the minced meat. The batter is quite thick. It's larger than the usual minced meat and has a strong oily taste. The main ingredients are meat and onions, with a hint of cabbage. The meat and onions are coarse-ground, giving it a wild texture. The juice from the meat is a bit lacking, and there is a noticeable sweetness, possibly from sugar. The aftertaste is not greasy, so it might be from the vegetables. The croquette is even sweeter! The ratio of onions to potatoes is 50-50, making it a unique croquette. But sweetness doesn't always mean delicious. It's an acquired taste, and some people might like it. If I compare it with the regular next time, my opinion might change.
