A new popular spot has emerged in Takadanobaba, known as "Little Yangon," where many Myanmar people live. The ZUU&HEIN Myanmar Tea House Takadanobaba branch opened on December 5, 2022. This is the second branch following the one that appeared in Ikebukuro in September 2021, but it seems like this one is the main attraction. The three-story building is impressive, with the first floor mainly consisting of counter seats, the second floor having table seats, and the third floor featuring private rooms with karaoke. The second floor is decorated with designs of Myanmar's geography and ethnic groups. The third floor has a karaoke setup, adding to the overall ambiance of the place. Despite the trendy and casual atmosphere of the restaurant, with a wide range of menu options, it is actually gaining popularity among the gourmet Myanmar people in Little Yangon as a place to enjoy delicious Mohinga (a traditional Myanmar noodle dish made with catfish soup). The tea at the restaurant is all-you-can-drink, and for just 1640 yen, you can also enjoy a two-hour all-you-can-drink alcohol service where you can refill your drinks yourself. The menu includes a variety of dim sum dishes, such as the Spicy Shumai and Steamed Black Sticky Rice. Additionally, the restaurant offers Indian dishes like the Malai, which is a milk-based dessert. The highlight of the menu is the Mohinga, made with fresh catfish soup and served with crispy fish cakes. The restaurant also serves unique dessert dishes like the Nan Gyi Toh, which is a sweet flat noodle dish. Overall, the ZUU&HEIN Myanmar Tea House in Takadanobaba offers a delightful dining experience with a variety of authentic Myanmar dishes that are sure to impress.

The mohinga was very delicious. It was even better than the mohinga I had in Myanmar. I wish I could have this for breakfast every day. The shrimp shumai was good too, but it was overshadowed by the impression of the mohinga. It felt like an added touch.

I had my first taste of Myanmar cuisine for dinner. It's located about a 5-6 minute walk from Takadanobaba Station. They offer complimentary warm tea from Myanmar! I tried a few noodle dishes. The noodles and soup are served separately, which seems to be a unique feature.

After coming back from the sauna with my family, we decided to eat here. After sauna, I always crave something to eat. Let's see how the food is here. I ordered Mohinga and milk tea. I had tried Mohinga at a different Myanmar restaurant before and it was honestly not that great, but the one at this restaurant was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I felt like eating Burmese food, so I decided to try a new restaurant on the way to my intended place. They didn't have Shan Khao Swe, so I ordered Nan Gyi Thoke, stir-fried water spinach, and milk tea instead. The Nan Gyi Thoke had a mild flavor that even children would enjoy, but it was strangely cold, haha. The stir-fried water spinach was delicious. The milk tea came without sugar, so I added some later. I later found out that Mohinga is delicious here, so I want to go back again.

Zuu & Hein Myanmar Tea House is a restaurant serving Myanmar cuisine. I tried the Mohinga, a soup made with catfish, which they make fresh every day. I added fried beans as a topping for an extra 100 yen, making it a total of 750 yen. The soup was bubbling hot and came with noodles, similar to somen, which you pour the soup over and squeeze lemon on before eating. The taste was delicious with no strong flavors. I wonder if the staff are from Myanmar... I heard unfamiliar languages being spoken, and saw a young lady dining alone, as well as a family with a baby. It seems like many people, including Chinese tourists who have already visited Thailand and Vietnam, are now shifting their attention to Myanmar. The restaurant has a stylish atmosphere, which is nice.

- Monhingar ¥650 tax included - Topping: Fried tofu ¥100 tax included (a memo from a visit a little while ago) Located about a 5-minute walk from Takadanobaba Station on the JR Yamanote Line, this Myanmar restaurant offers a variety of dishes. Takadanobaba has quite a few Vietnamese and Myanmar restaurants, and recently even Chinese restaurants have been increasing in number. This new restaurant had just opened when I visited for lunch. The menu had some items listed, but many were not available, and the lunch options seemed more like light snacks rather than hearty meals for business people. In the end, I decided to try the Monhingar, which was recommended by the staff as something they could serve quickly. They suggested adding a topping, so I went with fried tofu as recommended. After a few minutes, the dish was served. Let's dig in. [Monhingar (topped with fried tofu)] First impression, the portion was small. I couldn't help but think of buying pastries at the nearby Seiyu supermarket when I saw it. As for the taste... it was spicy but delicious. No exaggeration, the taste was really good. The broth, not as concentrated as in ramen, had a rich umami flavor that coated the thin, chewy noodles. The sweet and savory soup soaked into the noodles, creating a delightful combination. I recommend this for those with a small appetite. The restaurant may have changed since it opened, so things might be different now. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the shop in Takadanobaba as they had opened a branch in Ikebukuro. It is located on the first floor on the right side as you walk west on Waseda Street from Takadanobaba Station Waseda Exit. It was a weekday afternoon and about 70% of the customers were of Burmese descent. I was seated on the second floor. The staff, who seemed to be of Burmese descent, were very polite and welcoming. I ordered the milk tea, asking for it to be less sweet as I couldn't have it in Ikebukuro due to time constraints. The menu is in Japanese with photos. The dishes include Mohinga for 550 yen, Coconut Ramen for 650 yen, and Nan Gyi Thoke for 750 yen. I ordered the Nan Gyi Thoke for 750 yen and added fried tofu for 100 yen, along with the milk tea for 250 yen. The milk tea was served promptly, in an espresso size, already blended. It had a good level of sweetness, a soft texture with a rich milk tea flavor. The food took a bit longer to arrive. The Nan Gyi Thoke is a mixed rice noodle dish with a delicious Asian sauce.

This is a new restaurant that opened in Takadanobaba, known as a Myanmar cuisine heaven. It opened in December 2022. It has a cafe-like atmosphere, with a counter on the first floor, table seats on the second floor, and a karaoke room on the third floor, as Myanmar people love karaoke. The menu does not have curry dishes like Chettathin (Myanmar chicken curry) that I was expecting, but they do offer a dish called Nangyito, which is like Myanmar-style udon with Chettathin and fried eggs on top. I also ordered some Samosa, which is a light and tasty curry-flavored potato-filled fried snack. Both dishes were delicious and reasonably priced. They also serve complimentary tea in a pot, which adds to the cafe-like experience. This restaurant is a great place to enjoy Myanmar cuisine in a cafe setting, open from morning.

The coconut soup is rich and creamy. The noodles are overcooked and too soft.

I had Nan Gyi Thoke and Laphet Thoke (Tea Leaf Salad) at this restaurant (Posein). Both dishes have the authentic taste of Myanmar, which is nostalgic and delicious! The complimentary tea served was also Yaynègyan, a Myanmar tea. Not only the taste of the food, but also the location of the restaurant and the friendliness and hospitality of the staff were great. I believe this restaurant will become even more popular in the future. I will definitely come back!

Accompanied by my Burmese friend, I tried Myanmar cuisine for the first time. The taste is different from Thai cuisine. Mohinga is delicious and cheap!
