It was raining that day, so I decided to go to this nearby restaurant. I had the C's sweet and sour pork lunch for 1050 yen. It was nice that they asked if I wanted my tea hot or cold. Since I was cold from the rain, I chose hot tea. I hadn't eaten much sweet and sour pork since coming to the Kanto region, so I didn't know that their version had a ketchup-like flavor. It also had pineapple in it. It was different from what I had imagined sweet and sour pork to be, so it didn't really go well with rice... I ended up eating the rice with pickled vegetables. The soup was a bit light. The dessert was sweet, cold, and delicious.

During a regular lunchtime, I went to Mr. Ryuen's place. I ordered the daily gyoza set meal. The mini ramen was simple yet delicious. The gyoza were large, filled with a flavorful filling, and served piping hot. They were packed with cabbage, chives, and each ingredient stood out nicely. The meal also came with pickled vegetables and a mini dessert, all for 1000 yen. Thank you for the delicious meal.

- Located within walking distance from Sengoku Station on the Mita Line, this Chinese restaurant is situated along the old Hakusan Street.
- For lunch, I ordered the pork fried rice and mini ramen set, as well as the stir-fried wood ear mushrooms with oyster sauce. The fried rice was really delicious, and the ramen was a simple yet authentic soy sauce flavor, also very tasty. The stir-fried wood ear mushrooms were flavorful and delicious, although a bit on the rich side. Additionally, I ordered the dumplings as a side dish, which had thin skins and a generous filling, also very tasty.
- I didn't check the menu and just ordered a beer, which cost around 500 yen.
- The restaurant is quite spacious with comfortable seating, making it easy to accommodate even a stroller. They have one child seat available, making it family-friendly as well.
- Cuisine: Chinese
- Location: 6 minutes on foot from Sengoku Station on the Mita Line
- Budget: 1,000 yen per person for lunch
- Seating: Around 30-40 seats
- Children and strollers are welcome

I visit a Chinese restaurant about once a week. The interior is small and clean, and they serve unlimited warm tea which makes it very cozy. The landlady's lively and cheerful voice is quite distinctive, and it seems to be a popular spot with regular customers. The set menu changes weekly, except for the beef in oyster sauce. This time, I tried the stir-fried cabbage and pork liver. The dish costs 950 yen. The pork liver is very tender and melts in your mouth. The cabbage and chives play supporting roles, but they also enhance the flavor of the pork liver, creating a good balance. It's quite oily, so it goes well with rice. I've had a resistance to Japanese-style Chinese restaurants for a long time, but this place is surprisingly good. I haven't tried dishes like Chinese-style rice bowls or mixed noodles yet, but I might give them a try for the first time in years.

I have another meeting scheduled for 1:00 in the afternoon, so I only have about 50 minutes for lunch. I decided to have a quick lunch nearby. Compared to the shrimp and vegetable stir-fry last time, the beef oyster stir-fry this time surprisingly had a strong flavor. It was packed with mushrooms, broccoli, onions, and bell peppers, making it well-balanced in terms of nutrition. It was piping hot and freshly made. The only downside was that the beef was slightly tough, possibly due to overcooking.

I had a meeting from 1pm, so I decided to dine at this nearby restaurant. Today's lunch set included soup, stir-fried vegetables, pickles, and dessert for around 1,000 yen. I ordered the Stir-Fried Shrimp and Seasonal Vegetables for 1,000 yen including tax. The dish had a thick sauce as rumored, but the flavor was indeed a bit bland. I added soy sauce and pepper to adjust the taste, but I wonder if I could have asked for more salt when ordering. Well, I've been eating a lot on weekends, so occasionally having something light like this isn't so bad. Also, the almond jelly dessert after the meal was surprisingly good. The exterior and interior of the Chinese restaurant were clean and the service was good, which seems to attract many regular customers in the area.

A Chinese restaurant in Hakusan. It's located right near Toyo University, but it seems like there are more adults than students as customers. I was recommended by a gourmet friend that "the gyoza is delicious," so I went to try it out. It was quite busy during lunch on weekdays. The interior of the restaurant is clean and spacious, giving off a high-end Chinese vibe. There were various lunch menu options, but I decided to order the Gyoza Set for ¥950 as recommended. The set included gyoza, rice, mini ramen, and a carb fest. The gyoza was large and packed full of meaty filling. I thought it was the pinnacle of traditional (homey?) gyoza. The ramen was average. I'm not a big fan of ramen, so I wish they would offer a set with just gyoza and rice...

Today's lunch was at Ryuen for the first time in 3 months. Last time I had the classic lunch set with grilled dumplings, so this time I decided on the green pepper pork lunch. The dish looked delicious with its colorful presentation. The green pepper pork had a refined taste and paired perfectly with the rice. The portion size was just right, and I didn't need to get a rice refill. The almond jelly for dessert was also very good. Thank you for the meal.

It's been a while since my last visit. Chinese cuisine is said to never disappoint, but this place is a big hit. They make everything properly. The work is meticulous and you can see the delicacy of the kitchen staff. It's really delicious, so I ended up ordering the dan dan noodles again. Even though it's not listed on the lunch menu, it's available on the regular menu for just over 1300 yen. The regular lunch menu is around 900 to 1000 yen, so I recommend that too, but the dan dan noodles here are so delicious that I can't forget them... I want to go back again.

Today's lunch was a bit different from the usual Chinese restaurant, so I ventured out to Ryuen for lunch. This time, I chose the pan-fried dumpling set from the menu at the entrance. It was my second time ordering this. While sipping on cold tea and waiting, the pan-fried dumpling set was served. The set included mini ramen, rice, and pickled vegetables for dessert, making it quite a substantial meal. The dumplings were packed with filling, with a good balance of meatiness and vegetable flavors, making them delicious. The dumplings paired perfectly with the rice, and I quickly finished all five dumplings and the rice. The mini ramen had a smaller portion of noodles, but considering it as Chinese soup, it was good. The almond jelly dessert was also delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Today's lunch was at Ryuen, which I hadn't been to in about a year. I walked in and checked the daily lunch menu, deciding on the stir-fried Japanese beef and vegetable with oyster sauce set meal for 1000 yen. As I waited at a table in the back, they served me cold tea in a glass that looked like it was meant for whiskey highballs. When the meal arrived, it looked delicious. The beef was tender and flavorful, and the vegetables had a nice crunch to them. The rice was so good that I wanted more, but I ended the meal without getting a refill. The almond jelly dessert at the end was also delicious. Thank you for the meal.

First visit. I arrived at 2pm, just in time for lunch. It was so cold that I was shivering, so I ordered the tantanmen. The staff at the restaurant were kind and welcoming. The complimentary tea they served was warm Chinese tea. It seemed like there were authentic chefs in the kitchen, so I had high expectations. The tantanmen arrived quickly and it was incredibly delicious, I was impressed. I wonder why such a delicious restaurant is located between Hakusan and Sengokucho, it's a mystery. I want to visit again and try other menu items. This place might be a hidden gem, so I need to try everything before it becomes too popular. The interior of the restaurant has a typical Chinese restaurant vibe and seems suitable for family gatherings. I definitely want to go back again.

On a Saturday for lunch, I visited Ryuen after a long time. I arrived a little after 12 o'clock, and the place was crowded with local families and salarymen who were working on a Saturday, so there were only a few seats left. Although I felt like eating stick dumplings, today I chose the meat fried rice and mini ramen. I waited for about 5 minutes. The fried rice and ramen arrived steaming hot. The simple fried rice typical of a local Chinese restaurant was delicious! The mini ramen was also tasty with a light soy sauce soup. There was a sign at the entrance saying "Shanghai crab is now available," so I thought I might want to try it a little, but I ended up enjoying a regular Saturday lunch. The set of meat fried rice and mini soba cost 950 yen (including tax) and came with pickled vegetables and almond jelly. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I went to "Ryuen," a Chinese restaurant located between Senkoku Station and Hakusan Station on the Toei Mita Line, after finding out that "Shinkarou" was closed until May 6th. The entrance exuded a sense of elegance. I checked the menu displayed outside before entering the restaurant. The modern and calm atmosphere, with all the staff appearing to be Chinese. 80s American pop music playing softly in the background. The wooden floor was spotless, with red hydrangea pots placed around. There were many nearby office workers and elderly customers. Customers were coming out of the private rooms at the back one after another. Warm jasmine tea and hot towels were served. The "Yaki Gyoza Set" was priced at 900 yen for lunch. The rice was cooked just right, and you could get a refill. The lightly flavored sukiyaki was crispy. A mini soba was included. Toppings were minimal, with only Mitsuba and chopped green onions. The chicken broth had a light soy sauce flavor. The medium-thick straight noodles were slightly soft. The star of the meal, the Yaki Gyoza, consisted of 5 pieces. They were steamed and pan-fried well, with a chewy skin and crispy texture. The filling was packed full, with a crunchy vegetable texture. The flavor was gentle, with a hint of garlic. The Yaki Gyoza was so delicious that you could eat as many as you wanted. The first 2 pieces were eaten as they were, while the remaining 3 were dipped in vinegar and chili oil. The crispy and creamy almond tofu dessert was also delicious. I would like to try the stir-fry or Chinese rice bowl next time I have the chance.

Today's lunch was Chinese cuisine at Ryuen for the first time in 3 years. I checked the daily lunch menu at the entrance and decided on the C lunch, which was diced chicken Szechuan style. When I entered the restaurant, there were fewer customers, perhaps due to the influence of the coronavirus. I was guided to a table in the back and ordered the C lunch. The diced chicken Szechuan style was bite-sized and had a satisfying texture. The spiciness was mild, with a refined and delicious taste that paired well with the rice. I finished it in no time. The almond jelly for dessert was also delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Five-ingredient yakisoba from a local shop. Many shops around Hakusan were closed, so I decided to try Tomen, recommended by a friend (the chain stores were open). The staff seemed friendly and the place seemed popular among locals. The yakisoba had a nice charred flavor with a slightly less salty five-ingredient sauce that complemented it well. The egg soup was very mild. For those who want more flavor, I recommend adding some mustard. Personally, I liked the taste when mixed with mustard.

When I order the hot and sour soup noodles, I always ask to switch the noodles for rice. It's a reliable Chinese dish.

The authentic Chinese cuisine made by the Chinese chef was delicious! The steamed tofu with black bean sauce was especially tasty. It was great that they were open on New Year's Eve.

A Chinese restaurant located near Komagome. I used it during my trip to Tokyo. The inside is spacious. The service is quite assertive, with a tomboyish older sister recommending the menu, so I ended up ordering too much. They let you take home any leftover food. This time, I ordered Chinese rice bowl for 950 yen, as well as fried chicken, jellyfish, roasted pork, and more. It leans towards high-end Chinese cuisine, with large and luxurious ingredients, and the taste and presentation were good.

Today's lunch was at Ryuen in Sengoku. It's my second time this month. I ordered the stir-fried pork with black vinegar sauce. The sweet and sour pork with black vinegar was delicious, with a generous amount of pork and a good balance of flavors. I finished with a dessert, and it was a satisfying meal.
