TOMIT
This is a collaboration between Mitsuguruma and a now closed waffle cafe Y (currently known as Awajihashi Bar), offering a mix of Japanese and Spanish cuisine. Located near Asakusa Nakanokya, right next to Hotel Keihan Asakusa and across from Asakusa View Hotel. The first floor is standing room only, while the second and third floors are available for seating, with the second floor designated as non-smoking. For drinks, we had the house wine decanter (1,350 yen, light and easy to drink), my daughter had red grape juice (400 yen) and Pyrenees mountain water with gas (480 yen). The dishes we ordered included Mitsuguruma salad (550 yen, a delicious mix of lettuce, finely chopped salted kelp, and sesame oil dressing), Sherry-steamed mussels (780 yen, large mussels with a slightly salty Sherry broth perfect for dipping bread), fried mochi in sweet bean sauce (530 yen, a tasty combination of sweet bean sauce and fried mochi), a platter of Jamon Serrano, Iberico Chorizo, and Iberico Salami (1,100 yen, all delicious), herb chicken and fresh sausage (980 yen, crispy chicken skin, tender meat, and generous portions, along with tasty grilled fresh sausage), Rokku Baru's famous beef pot-au-feu (1,580 yen, tender beef stewed like pot-au-feu, delicious with wasabi and elegant soup), and assorted mushroom paella with karasumi (1,100 yen, you can order paella by the serving, well-seasoned with a nice touch of karasumi on the mushrooms). I have never used Mitsuguruma, but based on the Japanese menu here, it seems to be of a high standard. Reasonably priced and delicious, this is a great restaurant.
