Planned to buy food at the station and eat on the Shinkansen, but my friend insisted on trying a new restaurant to write a review on Tabelog. Ended up letting my friend choose the restaurant. Originally wanted to go to "Rikishi Ryori Suma," but they said it would take too long, so we left and wandered around. Extended the hotel checkout until the evening to leave our bags, then decided to eat at a nearby restaurant with an appealing exterior. We were the only customers besides what seemed to be regulars. When we ordered oolong tea, the owner asked if we were aware that they were not an udon restaurant. We knew, but still ordered the tea. We had swordfish sashimi, horse mackerel sashimi, smashed cucumber, garlic cucumber, chicken tempura, and potato salad. The sashimi was surprisingly fresh and delicious. The cucumber dishes were generously portioned and tasty. However, the garlic cucumber had too much raw garlic, which made it a bit bitter. The potato salad was also good. The chicken tempura had a strong poultry smell, so my friend only took one bite. I finished the rest. It was decent, but I expected better quality ingredients from a proper restaurant. The lady who helped out in the kitchen was very friendly. Didn't eat much, so bought a bento box from my favorite shop on the way back. Thank you for the meal.
