It was a holiday night, but we were able to get in without waiting in line. The restaurant was always busy, but the service was smooth. I ordered the Marune Set (1,800 yen), which came with thinly sliced white tongue, red tongue, soup, rice, grated yam, and pickles. It was delicious, but I felt a bit unsatisfied so I also ordered the thick-cut white tongue separately. It was tender and juicy, so personally, I recommend the white tongue among the different types of tongue dishes.

As the summer vacation reaches its peak, I found a reasonably priced and decently delicious restaurant that was packed during lunchtime. This was my first time trying a beef tongue restaurant outside of Sendai, but since the beef cutlet was also recommended, I decided to order the lunch set here. There was a guide on how to eat in front of me - should I grill the cutlet and eat it? I was a bit skeptical. When the lunch arrived, there was still a hint of redness in the meat. The salt was good, and the combination of barley rice and grated yam was unbeatable. I have no complaints, and I would definitely consider ordering with alcohol on my next visit.

Suddenly, I started craving negishi, so I went to refuel at a chain restaurant before the Sumida River Fireworks Festival! Of course, I ordered with ganko-chan! (That's all I know..) It's nice to be able to eat delicious beef tongue at a quick-service chain restaurant! The negishi tororo is also delicious! And the tail soup is tasty too♡ It's a place where you can enjoy beef tongue, tororo rice, and tail soup! (laughs) I'll definitely go again~

There is a shop on the 1st floor of Kinshicho Station, Terumina. For a tongue lover like me, "Negishi Kinshicho Store" is a must-visit. The Marune Set (3 slices of white tongue, 4 slices of red tongue) costs 1,800 yen including tax. Although it is not domestically produced, the foreign tongue is delicious with a moderate tenderness. Both white and red tongues are thinly sliced but packed with high-quality umami flavor. Truly delicious. The grated yam, tail soup, and pickles are all delicious. I especially like the pickled vegetables and miso nanban. They provide a refreshing accent between meat dishes, which is great. Of course, the barley rice is all-you-can-eat, which is nice. I thoroughly enjoyed it until the end while leaving some grated yam. I will visit again. Thank you for the meal.

When I visited in October 2022, I remember that the set with grilled chicken and an additional single piece of chicken was around 1500 yen. But coming back after a while, I sensed a price increase. The chicken set is now 1300 yen. Adding a single piece of chicken would make it 2000 yen for two pieces... I hesitated a bit. In the end, I decided to stick with the set without adding an extra piece of chicken. The chicken is tender even though it's grilled, and the taste is something I can't replicate at home. Although it may seem odd for a beef tongue restaurant to recommend chicken, I'm not a fan of the dry texture of beef tongue. However, the service at this Kinshicho branch, with the prompt refilling of barley tea and rice, was reminiscent of the refreshing service you get at tonkatsu restaurants where you can have unlimited cabbage refills. The staff here have a cheerful attitude, similar to the service you receive at places like Tonkichi or Sawayaka where you can have unlimited cabbage refills without feeling judged. That's why, in the end, chicken at Negishi is still the best.

I love the beef tongue at Negishi, and on this day I ordered the white tongue set with 6 pieces of 3 slices each. The grated yam was also very delicious, and I can easily eat a whole bowl of rice with just the grated yam. I always end up getting a refill of rice at Negishi because I can't get enough, and end up feeling full.

I had the Negishi set meal for 2050 yen after a long time. The taste is consistently good, but the price has gone up over 2000 yen, which makes it a bit less casual to enjoy. The service is good with plenty of staff, making it a pleasant dining experience overall.

For lunch today, I was in the mood for something hearty, so I visited Negishi. While many people associate Negishi with beef tongue, what I always order is the spicy grilled pork set! Ordering a beef tongue set at Negishi can cost as low as 1,750 yen with the Marune set, but it doesn't come with enough meat so I end up eating two bowls of rice and feeling a bit unsatisfied with the value for money. (I would rate the beef tongue set at Negishi as delicious but overpriced, 3.0 stars). On the other hand, the spicy grilled pork set is only 1,050 yen, thanks to the recent weak yen and issues with Russia. The spicy grilled pork goes so well with rice, I end up eating three bowls of rice - one with meat, one with grated yam, and one with pickles - and my stomach and heart are both very satisfied. Also, the tail soup here may not stand out, but it's really delicious!

Personally, I like to order the chicken yakitori with an additional single piece of chicken at this restaurant. The chicken is tender, and it comes with barley rice, grated yam, tail soup, and pickles. It's the perfect combination. This time, when I came after a long time, I noticed that the chicken... has it gotten bigger? It's about 1.8 times larger than the spicy chicken. Before, the chicken had a grilled taste from the iron plate, but this time, it also has a slight central kitchen feel. Maybe it depends on the store? The chicken feels like it has been injected with water, but it's still tender and juicy. When you're craving meat, I recommend choosing chicken intentionally.

Shiro-tan set for 2550 yen, long-awaited negishi ✨ Personally, I recommend sharing the shiro-tan set and the ton-teki set. The thick-cut tongue is undeniably delicious, but it can be pricey. In such cases, go for the ton-teki set. Maybe it's because I love pork, but when I come to Negishi, I order it 80% of the time. It's around 1200 yen and has great value for money. Give it a try if you'd like! ( ੭ ・ᴗ・ )੭ ===========

For me, a lover of beef tongue, "Negishi" is a must-visit restaurant. I often visit the "Negishi Kinshicho" branch in Terumina, but this time, I'm posting about it for the first time. White tongue (thick cut 3 pieces, 6 slices) 2,450 yen including tax Lemon sour 400 yen including tax. Although it is not domestically produced but foreign tongue, it is delicious with a moderate tenderness. The thick cut packs a rich flavor. It's really delicious. The grated yam, oxtail soup, and pickles are all delicious. I particularly like the pickled vegetables and miso nanban. They provide a refreshing contrast between meat dishes. Of course, the barley rice is all-you-can-eat, so I enjoyed it until the end while leaving some grated yam. I will visit again. Thank you for the meal.

I visited for the first time. I was happy to be able to eat enough beef tongue at this price. Also, what caught my interest this time was the customer service. From the beginning to the end, I was truly pleased with the service I received. I waited in line for about 10 minutes before entering the restaurant. When I entered, I was surprised to be given the choice of sitting at the counter or at a table for two. Despite being busy, receiving this level of service made me feel the "emotional composure" of the staff. Their other small attentions to detail were also truly wonderful. I enjoyed my meal. I would like to visit again.

After work, I quickly ordered the Spicy Triple Set for 1100 yen, added a seasoned egg for 100 yen, and some beef tongue for 650 yen. The service was fast, and the teamwork among the staff was impressive. The set includes three different types of meat: miso pork, beef loin, and spicy grilled meat, each with a unique flavor and cut. They all have a spicy kick, which is the highlight of this set. The additional beef tongue was thick, crispy, and juicy, making it delicious, although a bit pricey. The seasoned egg complemented the spicy flavors well. It's nice that you can have unlimited rice refills, especially for rice lovers. I enjoyed topping it with grated yam. The tail soup with plenty of green onions was also great. I left the restaurant feeling satisfied.

After a long time, I visited "Negishi." I heard in the news recently that beef tongue prices have been soaring, which seems to have led to a price increase here. However, the place was still very popular. They offer a convenient option for trying different types of beef tongue with their "Beef Tongue Trio Light" for ¥1,950, which includes thinly sliced red tongue, thinly sliced white tongue, and thick-cut white tongue. Red tongue has a slightly firm texture towards the tip of the tongue, while white tongue is softer and has more fat towards the base of the tongue. The thick-cut white tongue was the most delicious. They also have counter seats, making it easy for solo diners to visit.

After a long time, I felt like eating beef tongue, so I went to Negishi-san for a late lunch. At first, there weren't many customers, but they started coming in one after another, and before I knew it, it was crowded. Even though I already knew what I wanted, I glanced at the menu. Wait, they've raised the prices! The beef tongue set that I always order is now 2,450 yen, when it used to be 1,850 yen not too long ago. The restaurant had a notice saying they had to increase prices due to rising costs. Apparently, they raised the prices in September. This time, the price increase is quite significant. I thought it's a bit much to pay over 2,000 yen for lunch... but since I had already decided to get the beef tongue set that day, I went ahead and ordered it. The food arrived in about 3 minutes after ordering. The set included barley rice, 6 slices of beef tongue, tail soup, grated yam with pickles, and miso. The aroma of the beef tongue was really nice. The cross-section of the beef tongue had a slight pink color. It had a pleasant crispy texture with a good chew. It was easy to bite through because of the cuts on top and bottom. With each bite, the saltiness and the aroma of the beef tongue spread through my mouth, making it really enjoyable to eat. The beef tongue was delicious. I sprinkled extra spice and pepper for a spicy kick, which made it even tastier. I finished it in no time. It was delicious. Later, I found out that not only this place but other beef tongue chains and specialty shops were also adjusting their prices. I hope the prices don't go up any further. I'll treat myself to another visit on a special day.

I visited for lunch on a regular day. For me, when it comes to beef tongue, I think of Negishi. The first time I ate at the Shinjuku Alta Tower branch was about 35 years ago. Despite the recent high prices of beef tongue, the restaurant still has quite a few customers. I thought this was about the limit for what I could afford for lunch, so I ordered the "Marune Set" (1,550 yen). It may look a bit plain, but I am grateful that I can eat at this price. I like yakiniku, but personally, I prefer beef tongue as a set meal. Eating juicy beef tongue seasoned with salt and pepper with barley rice is the best. The default set includes plenty of grated yam, and there is also pickled vegetables, so the barley rice goes down well. I would like to have seconds, but I have to resist because I might get sleepy during work. The beef tongue, after a long time, was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

In a shop that takes measures to prevent infection by using acrylic stands and spacing out tables, I ordered the thin sliced tongue set for ¥1,450 and the thick sliced set for ¥1,850. I tried swapping a piece to taste the difference. Hmm! The thin slices go really well with the barley rice. The grated yam is also well seasoned and you can even get a refill with just that. While I think the thick slices would be delicious for yakiniku or grilled offal, for this set, I prefer the thin slices. It's a shame there are only 5 pieces, I wonder if they offer a larger portion. Thank you for the meal. Also, the pickled green chili peppers are delicious! (^^)

After finishing work, my friend and I suddenly felt like eating beef tongue, so we decided to go to Negishi. We were able to get in right away even though it was about an hour and a half before last order, but the restaurant was a bit crowded. The meat was tender and very delicious! And the side dishes were also extremely tasty! The pickles and oxtail soup for in-between bites were so good that we wanted seconds! Eating hot barley rice with grated yam on top is the best! They have branches in other prefectures as well, so be sure to visit!

Oh, I see, it's been 40 years. This time, I ordered the "Nemarune Set for 1300 yen," which reproduces the set from when the restaurant first opened. It includes 4 slices of thinly sliced red tongue and 3 slices of thinly sliced white tongue, totaling less than 100g. It comes with barley rice, ox tail soup, grated yam, miso paste, and pickles. You can have unlimited refills of barley rice. The red tongue is slightly tough, like the tip of the tongue. It has a subtle flavor and lacks impact. The white tongue, on the other hand, has a soft texture and a rich taste, similar to salted premium tongue in yakiniku. It is delicious! The seasoning is not just salt, but a soy sauce-based sauce. I think just the white tongue would be enough, but it's expensive on its own. I finished by having an extra serving of barley rice and pouring grated yam over it. The plate with the tongue looks a bit plain, so it would be nice to have a small salad or something for added color. It seems like the price of tongue keeps going up year by year. Should we eat it now while we can?

It was just before lunch, so I was seated at a table quickly. I was thirsty, and the cold tea was delicious. I ordered the beef tongue three-way platter, which came out quickly. It was satisfying as I was hungry. The platter included thick-cut white tongue x4, thin-cut white tongue x2, and thin-cut red tongue x4. The white tongue was tender, and I personally preferred the thin-cut over the thick-cut. The red tongue was a bit tough. The tail soup was light and good, and the grated yam over rice was tempting for seconds. It's dangerous that rice refills are free... The rice was barley rice and paired well with the tongue and yam. It had been a while since I had beef tongue at a place other than a yakiniku restaurant, but it was good.
