Located about a 1-minute walk from Shijo-Omiya Station in Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City, this restaurant specializes in meat dishes such as sukiyaki. While they have branches in Tokyo and Osaka, the main store is here. I was grateful to be treated by my relatives. This time, we opted for the most affordable lunch sukiyaki and plum course. The service from the waitress was excellent. The appetizers consisted of two dishes: simmered beef and vegetables. The simmered beef with sansho pepper flavor was delicious. It almost felt like a meal in itself. The sukiyaki was expertly prepared. They laid out the sugar on the pan, cooked the meat, and then served it with an egg. The first slice of meat in sukiyaki is always the best, and today's lean meat was quite firm in texture. I actually prefer lean meat, so this suited my taste. For dessert, they served a fruit dish with white wine jelly, which had a sophisticated taste.

I arrived earlier than my reservation time, but they still accommodated me. They spread beef fat, sprinkled sugar, poured sauce, and grilled the meat for me. They also scrambled eggs, put the cooked meat in, and served it to me. The service was excellent. The meat was tender and very delicious! If you're not driving, beer would be perfect with it. It was so delicious that I ended up ordering more meat. You can also buy meat at the shop next door when you leave.

Delicious! I visit every year, and this one word sums it up. The service staff's skills are high, but above all, for someone like me who prioritizes cost performance, this sukiyaki is the best in Kyoto. We made a lunch reservation and visited with a baby. We were guided to a tatami private room, where a baby chair was prepared for us. We enjoyed a delicious sukiyaki lunch. The beef stew that came as an appetizer with the steak lunch was so tasty that we bought some as a souvenir. The atmosphere was nice, the staff were very kind, and we were able to enjoy a leisurely lunch with delicious food.

Personally, I like the atmosphere of Kiyamachi, but I couldn't get a reservation there, so I enjoyed it in complete privacy at the Shijo Kumotori main store. Yesterday, I visited the historic Moritaya store in Kyoto with a customer. I had visited their store in Kiyamachi ten years ago, but this time I really wanted to visit the main store in Shijo Inokuma. We ordered the Sukiyaki course and I really wanted to try the oil-grilled as well, but due to time constraints, we could only order the fillet steak separately. The recommended cooking style was medium rare, and it was truly amazing. The tenderness of the meat and the perfect cooking made me speechless. Next, the Sukiyaki pot was prepared in a way that was unfamiliar to me from Kanto region. First, beef fat and sugar were added to the pot, followed by soy sauce. The beef was from Kagoshima, and the marbling was incredible. After tasting it, I was simply amazed. I am looking forward to visiting their store in Tokyo as well. The taste that lives up to the memories is truly amazing.

When it comes to beef restaurants in Kyoto, Moriya-ya and Mishimaya are the top choices. We had a group of 20 people visit here. Personally, when it comes to beef, I prefer sukiyaki. The quality of the meat and having professionals prepare the sukiyaki really makes a difference! I couldn't resist adding more meat (^^;; Thank you for the feast!

It was so delicious. Each piece of meat was very large and voluminous. The tare made with sugar and soy sauce soaked into the meat well and was very tasty. I also had udon noodles in addition to rice for the finishing touch. It was quite filling.

I have been to the Lucaille store before, but this was my first time at the main store. The private rooms were quiet and enjoyable, better than the Lucua store. The meat in the 6600 yen course was better than last time, with high-quality meat that really stood out. I prefer lighter flavors, so even the plum course was satisfying for me.

Moritaya is the best sukiyaki place! This was actually my first time visiting Moritaya. When it comes to Kyoto, it's all about meat, and when it comes to meat, it's all about sukiyaki. I love sukiyaki, so even though I have been to places like Sanshokutei, Komaitei, and Sukiyaki Kimura, I had never been to Moritaya. So I decided to go to the main store. I ordered the Special Course for 7800 yen, which includes 5 appetizers, sukiyaki (150g), vegetables, rice, red miso soup, pickles, and dessert. I also added an extra portion of meat. The sukiyaki was delicious! The staff seemed a bit overwhelmed as they were short-handed, but our server, Nakai-san, was multitasking by cooking and serving drinks. Despite that, the taste was impeccable. Kyoto's meat is truly the best!

This time, I deliberately chose the bamboo course to check the quality of the meat. I also added pine as an extra. Indeed, the pine looks more beautiful with a clear contrast between lean meat and fat. The taste also seems to have a slightly stronger sweetness from the fat. However, the bamboo is sufficient.

I went on a business trip alone. They didn't have the kind of dinner set menu I wanted, so I thought about going back out for lunch. However, the sommelier manager at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating, so I decided to stay and had sukiyaki by myself. It was delicious. The waitress who cooked the sukiyaki also didn't mind the manager's silly jokes and laughed along. I will definitely go back. Since it is run by a butcher shop, the meat dishes are ⭐︎⭐︎⭐︎, and of course, the service is also ⭐︎⭐︎⭐︎.

This was my third visit, after a long time. The location is just a 2-minute walk from Hankyu Railway Omiya Station. The atmosphere of the restaurant exudes confidence, giving the impression that this place is top-notch! In fact, the first time I visited, I decided to go in based solely on the appearance of the restaurant. Taking the elevator up, as soon as the doors opened, I was greeted by a sophisticated and elegant staff in a traditional setting. This time, I visited without a reservation, but we were guided to a very charming private room. I ordered the tender premium beef stew, while my girlfriend ordered the premium beef steak rice bowl. I have had the premium beef steak rice bowl before on my first visit and have been impressed by its deliciousness every time I come back. The flavor is still top-notch among all the meats I have ever eaten. The meat itself is incredibly tender with a unique umami and sweetness. I will probably continue to order it every time I visit. The premium beef stew was new for me this time, and it was also delicious. The meat was tender, and even though I usually associate beef stew with Western cuisine, this one had a distinct Kyoto-style Japanese touch to it. The side dishes such as miso soup, pickles, and dessert were also impeccable. Truly the feel of a well-established restaurant founded in the Meiji era. I plan to visit often in the future. As for payment methods, electronic money is not accepted, and only PayPay barcode payment is available. Next to the restaurant is a Moritaya supermarket where you can also purchase meat, so I recommend checking that out as well.

It's a famous sukiyaki restaurant that handles high-quality meat. There are a few other similar restaurants in Kyoto, but "San" is expensive, "I" doesn't stay open late, and "Ki" has a limited drink menu. It's great that they have a parking lot. I always seem to be seated facing Shijo Street, which has a nice view. The meal starts with appetizers and then it's all about the meat. It's irresistible. Highly recommended.

Sukiyaki plum course for one person is ¥4,300. It's a high-class restaurant and the meat is very delicious. Even though 150g per person is a bit small, it feels just right. The high-quality and expensive meat made me feel a bit sick if I ate too much because of the oil. I also ordered one bowl of udon for ¥500 as a finishing touch, which had a great texture and taste. The rice is all-you-can-eat, so both my stomach and taste buds were fully satisfied. I received information that a cafe serving freshly made warabi mochi next to Sasaya Masaoen had opened, so I planned to visit in early February. It was also my friend's birthday in early February, so we decided to make a reservation and have lunch at Moritaya. When making the reservation, we ordered the "Ultimate Oil Grill Course," and when we arrived at the restaurant, we were seated in a room and placed our drink orders. I ordered a draft Asahi Super Dry, and my friend tried to order the same, but I reminded her that Moritaya offers two types of draft beer, Kirin Ichiban and Asahi Super Dry. The oil grill was seasoned with ginger soy sauce, giving it a nice spicy kick from the ginger. The meat was incredibly tender and had no tough parts, truly living up to the "Ultimate" name. When my first beer ran out, I switched to a junmai daiginjo sake, which was crisp and dry, easy to drink. We ordered an additional two servings of meat, despite the waiter's attempt to suggest one serving for one person. When we finished eating, I realized that we had been there for quite a while and had a bit of a buzz. As we were leaving, my friend stumbled on the step at the entrance and almost fell, but we managed to leave without needing any assistance from the staff.

We visited the restaurant with three generations of our family after Hatsumode. It was our first time there. We called ahead and were told they were fully booked with reservations and there was a wait, but when we arrived at 1:30 pm, there were only about three groups of 10 people ahead of us. We were seated promptly. Despite informing them over the phone that there were five of us, the sukiyaki special course prepared was only for four people. When we inquired about adding an additional meal for our child, we were told, "There is no meal for the child." The staff seemed confused and unhelpful. The receptionist (who also answered the phone) was flustered and the server was rude. However, the manager quickly apologized for the mistake. We enjoyed the special course, especially the beautifully presented beef. The appetizer was also delicious. Some staff members were not great, but others were very hospitable. Special thanks to the female staff member who immediately cleaned the dirty restroom. A mix of disappointment and charm... What a strange experience.

I went to Moriya for a sukiyaki dinner after receiving a request from the other party. I usually go to the Isetan store at Kyoto Station, but this time I visited the main store in Shijo-Omiya for the first time. Unlike my previous experience at the Isetan store, where the sukiyaki was mixed up from the beginning, this time the meat was neatly arranged and cooked. The service by the staff was casual but quite polite. However, after the second serving, the staff left the table once the meat was added, which made me unsure if it was okay to touch the food without their supervision. It would be better if they could give a heads up like "feel free to cook it as you like" before leaving the table. The seasoning this time was perfect, unlike my previous experience. The flavor was rich but just right. Maybe it's because it's the main store? The quality of the special selection sukiyaki course (¥7,800) was clearly different from the lower-ranked Matsutake course, with a price difference of over ¥1,500. Even though I couldn't take photos, the appearance and taste were noticeably different. I added extra meat this time, and surprisingly, I could eat more than usual. Overall, it was a great experience at the main store, living up to its reputation. However, I will still have high expectations for the Isetan store in the future.

After a long time, I visited Shijo Omiya. It was a mix of familiar and new, reminiscent of my student days. After a nostalgic and refreshing stroll, we headed to Moritaya, a restaurant that my companion had made a reservation for. Despite being right next to Shijo Omiya station, the restaurant was quite spacious. The private rooms were also very large, making for a luxurious lunch experience. We opted for the lunch special, which was the Shabu Shabu Ume set priced at 3,800 yen (4,300 yen for non-lunch hours). Since we had plans to visit other places afterwards, we chose the most affordable option, the Ume set. The lunch special price applies on weekends and holidays as well, which was a pleasant surprise. The quality of the meat in the Ume set was said to be the same as the higher-priced Matsuba set, with differences in the side dishes. After enjoying the appetizers, the meat was served. The meat looked beautiful, but when I took a bite, it wasn't as tender as I had expected. Despite removing it from the pot quite early, it was a bit tough. Compared to the Shabu Shabu I had at another restaurant recently, the meat quality was a bit lacking. The meal included a variety of vegetables, maroni, and rice cakes, which filled us up. The sesame sauce was delicious, and the spacious private room setting made the Shabu Shabu lunch experience quite enjoyable. Overall, I would recommend Moritaya for those who value ambiance. Moritaya Shijo Inokumamoto Store ----------------------------------- When it comes to sukiyaki in Kyoto, people think of Mishimaya or Moritaya. They are both well-established meat shops. This time, I used Moritaya for a lunch meeting. Since the focus was on conversation, I opted for the simmered type of Wagyu sukiyaki set meal for 2,500 yen. The quality of the meat was excellent as expected, but this time it felt a bit overcooked. (It's a set meal, so it's acceptable!) The service is wonderful. Whether for a business meeting or a quiet meal in a calm setting, I highly recommend it.

I'm eating sukiyaki and shabu-shabu at the Lucua store, but this is my first time trying oil grilling. The customer service is excellent. The meat is just the right tenderness. The vegetables are delicious. Yamazaki Straight Double Oil Grilling is the best.
