Chilled curry-flavored tomato noodles (¥900 including tax). The noodles are topped with chunky tomatoes, adding a nice texture to each bite. The refreshing soup is rich and has a hint of curry aroma that enhances the overall flavor. A dish perfect for summer cravings.

Chilled Tomato Tan Tan Men (tax included 900 yen). The richness remains the same even when chilled, and the cold broth and noodles mix well together, making it easy to slurp up. The spicy kick lingers in your mouth, leaving your lips tingling. The acidity of the tomatoes gives it a refreshing finish. A menu that can be enjoyed even in hot weather.

I visited for a slightly early lunch. I had the five-ingredient ramen, which has been a challenge for me. It was very full of ingredients and each broth came out well, making it very delicious. I can understand why it's popular. Personally, I think the pickled vegetable and pork ramen is the best.

I had been craving this dish every time I passed by the store recently. Today, I finally had the perfect timing to visit during my lunch break. The thick sauce with a ginger soy base and the flavorful liver perfectly complemented the white rice. I was completely satisfied.

This is a revisit to our favorite local Chinese restaurant. I ordered the stir-fried liver with wood ear mushrooms and bamboo shoots set meal with extra large rice. It had been a while since I last had it, but it was as delicious as always. The side dishes were perfect for enjoying the rice, and the extra large portion was satisfying.

Ordered the Peace Ramen with half rice. Today, I was able to have lunch without being late. The simple soy sauce base of the ramen is delicious. Unlike ramen specialty shops, the soup is the base for all the menu items, so balance is crucial. As expected from a menu item bearing the restaurant's name, the simmered pork belly and Chinese broccoli in the ramen were very substantial, with the Chinese broccoli cooked perfectly and the pork belly tender and tasty. During my meal, I noticed that many other customers were ordering the Five Ingredient Ramen, so that's what I'll try next time.

I wanted something warm and decided to go with the Chinese rice bowl (tax included 850 yen). It had meat, shrimp, squid, quail, and various vegetables all mixed in with a hot sauce. It was delicious and the rice went well with it. They are closed on Sundays, but they are open for lunch on holidays, which I didn't realize even though I have been going there for a long time.

There are few restaurants in this area where you can have lunch on Sundays, so I always end up becoming a refugee. I wanted to eat Chinese food on such a day, so I visited the restaurant. The restaurant is located along Meiji Street, between Yoyogi Station and Kitasando Station. It seems like the restaurant has been there for a long time, but the interior was renovated a few years ago and now it looks very clean inside. There is a handwritten menu in front of the entrance, so you can decide what to order before entering the restaurant. When you go inside, you will be shown to your seat first. There are four-person tables lined up, and it feels like the customers are mostly locals or office workers nearby. I looked at the menu after being seated, and since I wanted something with rice, I asked about the difference between the "Gomoku Fried Rice" and the "Pickled Vegetable Fried Rice." I was told that adding pickled vegetables to the Gomoku Fried Rice would make it the Pickled Vegetable Fried Rice, so I ordered that. The menu has a variety of dishes typical of a Chinese restaurant, and what stood out was that the prices for cash and PayPay payments were written separately. I thought it was considerate because sometimes using a card can unexpectedly incur fees. When the fried rice arrived, I was surprised by the amount. I don't usually eat that much, so I was worried if I could finish it all. I had to start eating to make progress. The taste is not too salty, so you can eat it slowly. The occasional saltiness of the pickled vegetables mixed in, and I ate diligently while chewing well. The soup that came with it was not miso soup as I thought, but Chinese soup. I occasionally refreshed my stomach with the soup, and it took quite some time, but I managed to finish it. This amount is recommended for men! Thank you for the meal.

The meeting ran late, so this visit is a bit delayed. The first meal of 2023 is decided to be the highball pork ramen here. I debated whether to add rice, but managed to resist. The half-fried rice is also tempting, but everything here is delicious, so I recommend it. The highball pork ramen is consistently delicious. The perfect balance of the saltiness, spiciness, and acidity of the highball is a favorite among my colleagues. The customer next to me ordered the Heiwa ramen, which I thought was just a regular ramen, but it turned out to be a ramen with pork and Chinese cabbage in a soy sauce-flavored sauce. I thought, "I'll try that next!"

I ordered the spicy curry fried rice from the boldly designed hand-written menu (tax included 900 yen). As soon as it was brought to me, the smell of curry wafted through the air. The rice was more on the dry side. Each grain of rice was coated with a generous amount of curry. It had a strong spiciness that tingled on the tongue, but I couldn't stop eating because of the enticing smell of curry. The richness of the dish lived up to its appearance and seems like it could become addictive.

One of the four set menu options, Ham, Shiitake Mushroom, and Bamboo Shoot Stir-fry (tax included 850 yen). I was surprised by how quickly it was served. It felt like only about 1 or 2 minutes. Although the base is eggs, there are quite a few ingredients. The aroma of shiitake mushrooms was also clearly present. There were only about three groups of customers, so I think this menu is useful when you want to have a quick lunch.

The hand-written menu on the wall features many bold options. One of them is the Black Sesame Tan Tan Men (tax included 900 yen). When it is brought to you, the smell of black sesame fills the air. The soup that allows you to savor the sesame makes the spoon keep moving. Just when you think it's a sesame ramen, the spiciness that comes later reminds you that it's actually a tan tan men. Since you can't see what's in it, the surprise of finding chashu or menma is exciting.

Mapo tofu set meal for 750 yen. The Mapo tofu had a surprising kick of spiciness. The rice was delicious and they offer one free refill. The portion of the main dish was a bit small, but the free rice refill was a great bonus. The side dishes were simple, with egg soup and spicy bean sprouts. Despite the rice being slightly dry, it was a tasty Chinese lunch at a great price of 750 yen.

After reading everyone's posts, I decided to visit and try the mapo tantanmen. However, I couldn't find it on the menu. I still wanted to try it, so I ordered it from the staff. The mapo tantanmen turned out to have a lot of soup and not much filling. The taste was okay. I'm not familiar with this place, so I'm not sure what else to order.

The morning meeting ran late, so I decided to stop by while on the move and peeked inside the restaurant. It was just before 1:00 PM and luckily it was empty, as it is always crowded during lunchtime. I ordered the beef tendon fried rice for the first time. It was a moist fried rice with plenty of sweet and savory simmered beef tendons, which was surprisingly not too greasy and delicious. Just before 1:00 PM, elderly couples who seemed to live nearby started arriving as the lunch hour for office workers was ending. Thank you for your consideration. I silently expressed my gratitude.

I ordered the lettuce fried rice. I usually come here at night for drinks and have the fried rice as a last dish, but it's so delicious that I came for lunch today to have it as a standalone dish. The restaurant is relatively small and popular, with a wide variety of menu options. About four customers ordered the large serving. The lettuce is cooked perfectly.

While taking a walk, I stumbled upon a shop with a blackboard outside advertising Tomato-flavored Tantan noodles and Curry-flavored Tomato noodles. Intrigued by the complexity, I excitedly entered the shop and ordered the Spicy Liver Ramen. The soup, which didn't stray far from typical Chinese ramen, had a slightly sweet and spicy flavor enhanced by the addition of doubanjiang. The medium rare pork liver was generously included, adding a nice touch to the dish. This shop offers a variety of options that will keep you coming back for more.

Full stomach lunch, spicy stir-fried chicken and bamboo shoot for 850 yen. After working on a holiday, on the way back home, the warm weather made cycling refreshing. While wandering around looking for lunch, two beautiful sisters caught my eye at a traffic light. And there it was... a Chinese restaurant! Looks good, doesn't it? Chinese lunch from the outside feels extraordinary and delicious. The shrimp ramen looks tempting, but I want to eat rice, so I chose the lunch set. The staff was efficient and gave a good impression, probably a beautiful lady.

It's a cold day, so I ordered highball pork ramen and half rice. It goes well with the cold weather. The sharpness of the soy sauce sauce combined with the acidity of the highball, the umami of the pork, and the smoothness of the lard create an exquisite taste. It also goes well with rice. Highly recommended.

I randomly walked south along Meiji Street from the office without a specific destination in mind. I stumbled upon a restaurant called Wahei Restaurant near Yoyogi, so I decided to drop in. Later, I realized that I had visited this place 10 years ago when I had an office in Kitasando. It was called Wahei Restaurant back then as well. This time, it felt like a first visit for me. The interior of the restaurant consists of all table seating, and there were two female staff members in the hall. When I arrived at 1:30 pm, there were only three solo customers. They were all watching the TV. I thought to myself that I rarely watch TV except for times like this. The menu offered a variety of Japanese-style Chinese dishes such as noodles, yakisoba, donburi, and fried rice. Payment with PayPay was possible, but it was slightly more expensive. There were four set meal options available. While a large serving of noodles cost an additional 100 yen, you could get one free refill of rice with the set meal. There was also a whiteboard menu with unique and interesting items to choose from. I decided to try the original flavors of the restaurant. I ordered the Maabo Tantanmen, which is a combination of Mapo Tofu and Tantanmen. The Maabo Tantanmen arrived piping hot. The Mapo Tofu was extremely hot, and even the tofu was scorching. I love when the toppings for noodle dishes are super hot. I believe noodle dishes should be served piping hot. The tofu was perfectly intact without falling apart, which was great. The straight-forward spiciness of the chili oil and the numbing sensation of Sichuan peppercorns or Sansho added a nice touch. The level of spiciness was quite high, and it was hard to tell if it was from the Mapo Tofu or the Tantanmen. It was a unique blend that was different from Sichuan-style dishes. The soup was on the thinner side but had a rich flavor. The influence of the Mapo Tofu was evident, and the subtle sesame flavor complemented the spiciness and heat, creating a stimulating and delicious taste. The flavor was robust without being too overpowering. Thanks to the barrier of the Mapo Tofu, the dish remained piping hot until the end. The slightly shorter, chewy, thin noodles were delicious on their own. Even though it was a regular serving, the portion was generous. I can only imagine how filling it would be with a large serving. The familiar combination of Mapo Tofu and Tantanmen was elevated to a new level with this dish. I am now curious about the other original menu items and would like to come back for dinner next time.
