Ehata at Kitano Hakuba-cho (Shimojicho-dori, Rokken-cho, Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto) ○ Selected as one of the top 100 yakiniku restaurants on Tabelog in 2022 ○ Namul ¥700, Raw tongue ¥1,200, Raw heart ¥900, Grilled tongue ¥1,400, Assorted grilled meats ¥1,200, Galanegi (Galbi and green onions) ¥1,200, Rice ¥300, Beer (large bottle) ¥900 Personal rating: ★4.2 A famous yakiniku restaurant in Kyoto. Finally visited! The nearest station is Kitano Hakuba-cho Station on the Keifuku Kitano Line, but it's about 1km away, so it's safer to visit by bus from the city. Arrived on Saturday around 5:10 PM. Was able to enter without waiting, but it was almost full! First, enjoyed raw tongue and raw heart sashimi with a bottle of beer. Both were fresh, without any unpleasant smell, and incredibly delicious!! The quality is so good that in Tokyo, they could easily charge around 2,000 yen. Next, grilled the tongue and assorted meats. The assorted meats included liver, heart, skirt, and tongue base. Especially the skirt was delicious with plenty of fat!! The style is mostly self-grilling, but occasionally the staff would check the cooking progress and give advice, or even grill for you. Lastly, tried the off-menu item Galanegi! Grilled galbi and mixed it with Kujyo green onions. The chewy and fatty galbi, combined with the fragrant Kujyo green onions, was incredibly delicious!! Note that the griddle gets burnt, so you must order Galanegi last. Most menu items are around 1,000 yen, so you can eat and drink to your heart's content without breaking the bank. This is the perfect place to enjoy fresh hormone sashimi, grilled meats, drink a lot, and have a satisfying meal! A must-visit restaurant when in Kyoto! #Ehata #EhataYakiniku #Gourmet #GourmetGram #WantToConnectWithGourmetLovers #Yakiniku #YakinikuGram #WantToConnectWithYakinikuLovers #Meat #MeatGram #PhotoGenicMeat #WantToConnectWithMeatLovers #Kyoto #KyotoGourmet #KyotoYakiniku #KitanoHakuba-cho #KitanoHakuba-choGourmet #KitanoHakuba-choYakiniku #Japan #Kyoto #Gourmet #JapaneseFood #Meat #Yakiniku

I don't eat a lot of yakiniku, but as far as I know, this is the best yakiniku restaurant. Everything I've tried here is delicious. The horumon has no smell and the unique way of cooking where you don't cook the outside is amazing. The tan and hatsu are so delicious. Today, I also ordered the sirloin for my foreign guests. The soup here is also amazing. The staff cooks the meat for you, cutting it perfectly. Even meat experts from Europe were impressed. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

We lined up from 4:30 pm. The store opened at 5 pm, and our family of five was able to enter safely. Before it got busy, we ordered drinks and meat all at once, and the staff remembered our order. We had a fun and delicious meal. We had beef tongue sashimi, raw heart, and finished with grilled giblets. It was very satisfying.

Visited for the first time at around 4:13 PM on a Saturday in July 2023. "Ebahata" is a renowned yakiniku restaurant located in the northwest part of Kyoto city. It is selected for the Yakiniku Hyakumeiten WEST almost every year. Since reservations are not accepted, it is recommended to arrive early to ensure entry. We were the first customers of the day. By the scheduled time, a few groups had lined up, and we entered on time. We sat at the counter furthest back. The interior of the restaurant, though aged, was well-maintained and tidy. We checked the menu on the wall and ordered the following: - Beer: 900 yen - Hatsu (heart) fresh: 900 yen - Tan (tongue) fresh: 1,200 yen - Senmai (tripe) fresh: 800 yen - Dobozuke (pickled garlic): 600 yen - Tan yaki (grilled tongue): 1,400 yen - Roast yaki (grilled roast): 1,700 yen - Assorted yaki: 1,200 yen The quality of each meat was fantastic! The three types of fresh meat were amazing and delicious. The grilling was done by the staff, and the meat was served with perfect cooking, making it effortless and delicious. The "Dobozuke" side dish was also great and paired well with both alcohol and rice. With the above lineup, we were quite full and couldn't try the "Grilled green onions" or "Soup" from the hidden menu this time. We enjoyed our meal, leaving room for the challenge of trying those next time! Thank you for the delicious meal!

Popular yakiniku restaurant "Ebahata" in Kyoto. Access is not great, visited by taxi near the "Ooichi" sukiyaki restaurant. Visited at 5:30 PM on a weekday. The counter is almost full. It's nice to have yakiniku in the evening with everyone. The interior of the restaurant has a woody feel, using a roaster, giving it a traditional yakiniku restaurant vibe. Since there were 3 of us, we sat in a private room. We ordered kimchi, tongue, tripe, heart, and loin. The tongue was tender and chewy. The heart had a strong smell... yes, it has a smell. I thought it was just me, but the other members had the same reaction. It might be due to aging. The kimchi was like the one in Tsuruhashi? It was a delicious sweet and spicy kimchi. The sauce was provided all together. The tripe was so small and the sizes were all different... The loin was overall tough and had a lot of tendons... almost all of it was tendon. Hmm... the members clearly lost their excitement. Some people may praise this place, but the offerings may vary. The waiter also had a bit of an indifferent attitude. Honestly, I always thought of yakiniku as being great in the west, but I learned that there are also places like this. Thank you for the meal. ※I introduce many other restaurants on my blog. Kyoto, Kitano Shirakawa-cho "Yakiniku Ebata" is a popular local restaurant listed on Tabelog's Top 100 list. The first impression may be a bit strict, but the quality of the beef is decent. The tongue is average, while the heart, tripe, and loin have a wild aroma. The loin seems to be made from scrap pieces, which is a bit disappointing. The restaurant has a good reputation, so regular customers may get better quality meat. The service from the staff is also impressive. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience.

I arrived at the restaurant 20 minutes before opening time, but there was already a long line. We managed to get a table as soon as they opened, but we were a bit flustered when it came to ordering because we were not used to it. Looking at the photos, you can tell how delicious the food was, right? The Gyara negi at the end was the finishing touch of deliciousness. I want to go back to this restaurant again. Thank you for the meal!

Ehata is a famous restaurant in Kitano Shirayume-cho. It's quite a distance from Nijo Station, located in a mysterious residential area. This time, I sat at the counter. According to regular customers, if you sit at the counter, the staff will cook the meat for you. We started with some cabbage appetizers. First, we had raw tongue. It had a beautiful marbling and a tender texture. It was exquisite. Next, we tried the raw heart, which had a crispy texture. The quality of the meat skewers was top-notch, almost bringing tears to my eyes. We also enjoyed the potato salad while waiting for the grilled meat. We left the ordering to the regular customers, and we tried the loin, tendon meat, and belly. The chef cooked them for us, which was much appreciated. The techan (beef intestine) was delicious. All the meat was of high quality. The pickles were also tasty, perfectly pickled. For the finishing touch, we had the garlic chive salad, which was full of originality. We also tried the miso soup this time, which was delicious. It was a blissful moment.

Thank you for reading this article. Your likes and comments are encouraging. I will continue to update more, so I would be grateful if you could save or follow. I had a great meal with dishes like Mino sashimi, Tan sashimi, Hatsu sashimi, Tan salt, and salt Mino Nekegiara. Nekegiara, which was freshly grilled by a kind waiter, was a hidden menu item. Thank you for the feast.

Yakiniku Ebata: When you order the sirloin steak, you don't have to do anything as the staff will cook it for you perfectly. They cook it at just the right timing so you can focus on your drinks. They also pour wine for you, and even though it's meat, I think white wine goes well with it. It's the best time here. #Kyoto #KyotoGourmet #KyotoYakiniku #SenbonStreet #SenbonStreetGourmet #Yakiniku #Tanshio #Mino

The local atmosphere with a full counter and tatami seating filled with customers! You can tell that it is loved by locals. The sauce, made with care, has a perfect balance of sourness and sweetness that complements the meat well. The lean meat is delicious, but the hormone is truly amazing! I don't know if it's the freshness or the preparation, but it's clearly different from other places I've tried. I really enjoyed it! I will definitely visit again! I wish they had one in Osaka.

The cherry blossom season comes three times. The sashimi platter with four kinds of fish and dobo pickles are must-haves. This time, we only had a little because we were drinking at a soba restaurant until 2:30. It used to be empty, but now you have to wait in line to get in. The sound is quite wonderful ⭐️

I don't often come to this area in Kyoto, but I happened to have some business here and decided to visit this restaurant. It seemed popular as there was a 30-minute wait to get in. The quality of the meat was not good, and overall, the food was not delicious. The side dishes like Namul and salad were also disappointing.

Two people were unable to make a reservation, so I wanted to line up before 5:00, but due to traffic, I arrived a little after 5:00. The counter seats were already full, so I was prepared to wait in line, but the owner kindly allowed us to sit at a table with a time limit. We ordered quickly and had a meal at a faster pace than usual at home. The watercress salad was topped with what seemed to be Pietro dressing and was delicious. In addition, cabbage (probably the sauce of this restaurant) that could be refilled was included, which may have been unnecessary. First, we had the raw series. The raw senmai, which I don't usually eat much, had a sweet flavor of fat and was very delicious. The raw heart was very fresh with a crunchy texture, and the raw tongue was fresh and flavorful. We had the techan-yaki with recommended salt. It was sprinkled with vibrant sansho pepper, which paired well with the sweet fat of the techan. The texture was excellent. The assortment included tongue root (probably the end piece), liver, and mino. The tongue root, which I tried for the first time, had a juicy part with a fluttery center, and it was delicious. The liver had fatty parts attached, which was the most delicious. The mino was crunchy and juicy. The ten-niku yaki was a part I heard of for the first time, but I thought it was the same part as the general belly. As I chewed, the umami flavor spread throughout my mouth. We ordered a little more because it was so good. The heart also had fat attached at the end, which added a very good flavor. It was the best dish of the day. The tongue was also delicious, but it didn't have the same impact as the heart. Finally, we had the loin yaki. It had a sweet fat taste similar to Uguisuya-en, and my fat tank was full. The young staff member provided very kind and pleasant service, and although it was a short meal, we had a delicious and enjoyable time. I would love to visit again when I go to Kyoto. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered Tan (tongue) raw for ¥1,200, Hatsu (heart) raw for ¥900, Senmai (tripe) raw for ¥800, Roast beef for ¥1,700, and Tan (tongue) grill for ¥1,400. Ebahata, which has been selected as one of the top 100 yakiniku restaurants from 2018 to 2022, was a long-awaited experience. Unfortunately, the recommended green onion dish was sold out that day. I ordered all three raw dishes - Tan, Hatsu, and Senmai, and they were all amazing and melted in my mouth. The Tan grill had an incredible taste. I also tried the Mino boil (off-menu item) recommended by my senpai, and it was crunchy! Everyone was enjoying steak for the finale, and I wanted to try it too, but my stomach couldn't handle it. It's definitely a place for a rematch. There were many tourists, and locals mentioned that the area is becoming more touristy. They even gave us ice cream on the way out. I will definitely visit again! Thank you for the meal. Business hours: 17:00-22:00 (Last order: 21:00) Closed on Wednesdays.

Located a 16-minute walk from Kitano Hakubaicho Station on the Keifuku Kitano Line, this restaurant is well-known for its yakiniku in Kyoto. It was a place I had been wanting to visit. The surroundings are filled with traditional Kyoto townhouses, creating a serene atmosphere. The interior of the restaurant is surprisingly spacious, with counter seats and tatami mat seating. I visited on a weekend evening around 5:00 PM without a reservation. I was told that they don't accept reservations for small groups, but when I asked, they were able to accommodate me. I was seated in the tatami area. The system here involves grilling your own meat on a gas stove. There was a foreign couple sitting at the table next to me. I ordered cabbage (complimentary), tongue yakiniku for 1400 yen, rib yakiniku for 1500 yen, assorted offal yakiniku for 1200 yen, loin yakiniku for 1700 yen, rice for 300 yen, soup for 1000 yen, and green onions (sold out). I shared this with my wife. We started with the tongue, which was thickly sliced and had a great texture. The rib was beautifully presented and the quality of the meat was evident at first glance. The assorted offal was a mix of different types and each one was of high quality, full of flavor without any unpleasant smell. The loin was melt-in-your-mouth tender. The soup had plenty of offal in it, creating a rich broth. All the meat was top-notch. However, the prices are on the higher side. But considering the quality of the meat, I left satisfied. It's clear why this place is so popular. I definitely want to try the off-menu item, the green onions, next time.

Here is my dinner at a restaurant in Kyoto after 2 years. I was skeptical about having yakiniku in Kyoto, but this is my third visit already. The quality is very high. The sashimi is cooked on a hot plate. Even the tongue and hormones, while they have their unique flavors, are delicious. I can't pretend to be a regular customer, but since reservations are not possible, there is no sense of exclusivity, which is nice. This is the kind of restaurant that makes you feel like you're really in Kyoto.

Today, I worked until 3 pm, then met up with my partner and was dragged to ZARA to buy a rider's jacket. After that, we went to Ebata-san's place, which we haven't visited in a while. Despite arriving on a Sunday at 6 pm, we miraculously got the best seats at the counter! We started by paying our respects to the previous owner's photo, then chatted with the staff about old times. Now, onto ordering - the heart sashimi was incredibly delicious! My partner, who is very particular about taste, absolutely loves the heart sashimi here. And the secret menu items... amazing! They were so delicious, I was glad we came early. The beef belly was also delicious, we had to order seconds. The fat in Ebata-san's meat doesn't feel heavy at all, which is fantastic. The sirloin was, of course, delicious as well. Since we had the best seats today, the second-generation owner personally cooked it for us, which was amazing. We kept ordering more, so I lost track of how much we ate... The garlic chives, not on the menu but a well-known secret item, were a perfect combination of the sweetness of the chives and the delicious sauce. When you think of Ebata-san, you think of garlic chives! For the finale, we had the soup, which was also irresistibly delicious. I've been writing about how delicious everything was, but it truly was delicious. We also ordered two beers and two red wines and ended up a little tipsy. Before we knew it, the restaurant was full, truly living up to its reputation as one of the top four yakiniku spots in Kyoto. I'll keep the other three in mind for next time. Overall, the incredibly delicious food was outstanding! Highly recommended! I visited on a day with heavy snow. I arrived as soon as the store opened, but there were already regular customers drinking at the counter. The place had a great atmosphere of a well-established restaurant. Overall, the food was delicious. The Shimacho was particularly fresh, to the point where I had never tasted it like that before. The marinated liver was also delicious. One of the unique features of this place is that the staff will teach you how to cook the meat, so you can enjoy it in the best condition. The famous garlic chives were nothing special. The interior has a traditional feel, but it is very clean.

I visited a yakiniku restaurant in Kyoto city. I made a reservation for the evening, but they said they couldn't reserve for two people, so I went directly to the restaurant. It was located in a residential area, so there weren't many parking spaces nearby. The restaurant had both counter seats and table seats. The staff would explain and cook the meat for you when they are available.

For travelers, this restaurant is in a location that can only be reached by bus or taxi. Additionally, it's a popular spot where you have to arrive right when it opens to secure a seat. I managed to barely get a seat by arriving about 5 minutes after opening. However, dining alone at a yakiniku restaurant felt a bit awkward. There were many local regulars dining there. I tried various dishes like the famous tongue sashimi and heart sashimi. The food was delicious, but I didn't feel very comfortable, so I left quickly after finishing. I think I spent around 5000 yen, including a drink. The cost performance is decent, especially if you go with two or more people.
