The second visit was also great. Firefly squid appetizer for 770 yen, young sweetfish tempura for 1100 yen, mackerel for 250 yen, sablefish for 350 yen, shrimp and medium fatty tuna for 650 yen each. I requested the firefly squid without vinegar miso. Although they were still small in size, I could taste the richness of the liver, and they were very delicious. The young sweetfish tempura had a crispy coating and a moist flesh with a hint of bitterness from the liver, which was very tasty. The sushi was especially good. The flavorful shrimp, the strong umami and fat of the medium fatty tuna, and the thick, fine-grained sablefish were all fantastic. The restaurant was spacious, and since it was not crowded during the meal, I was seated at a nice table by the window and enjoyed the sushi comfortably. I already like this chain, but I found the Machida branch to be particularly good. I will definitely visit again when I'm in Machida.

Seasonal sushi set of 10 pieces, chawanmushi, and red miso soup for around 3,500 yen. The fugu sashimi was a complimentary dish that came with my mother's sushi. We also had 1,320 yen each of Hokkigai sashimi and grilled. The total bill came to 10,780 yen for two people. This restaurant in the station building is convenient as you can always get a table. It was around 4 o'clock, yet the place was quite busy. We originally planned to go to the neighboring Tsunohachi, but we were drawn in by the sushi here. Next time, we will definitely go to Tsunohachi...

I arrived a little late for lunch on Wednesday around 2:30 pm, but unfortunately, they stopped serving lunch at that time. They had a lunch menu with good deals like 10 pieces of sushi for 1500 yen. If I had arrived a little earlier, I could have enjoyed that too. The counter seats were mostly occupied by solo diners. I ordered the "Ume" set for 1540 yen, but with a LINE coupon, it was only 1040 yen. It included 6 pieces of sushi, chawanmushi, miso soup, ikura gunkan, horse mackerel, eel, tuna, sea bream, and the best was the ikura which was deliciously popping. Unfortunately, one of the staff members had a bad attitude, which was disappointing.

I used a 500 yen discount coupon when spending over 1500 yen at the Odakyu Department Store Machida store, and this time I visited Asahi Sushi Main Store at Machida Odakyu Sky Town. I arrived around 11 o'clock due to work, but was surprised to find it already crowded. By 11:30, there was even a waiting list, which was even more surprising. It seems to be quite popular. I ordered the lunch sushi set of 10 pieces for 1320 yen, and added a small chawanmushi for 330 yen. I asked for less rice in the sushi. I have had chawanmushi quite often recently, but this one was the most moist and smooth, which I really liked. The sushi toppings were fresh, large, and satisfying! They were delicious with just the right amount of fat. The variety of dishes provided was satisfying and I was very happy with my meal!

During Monday lunchtime, I was surprised to see long lines at the restaurants in the Odakyu Department Store restaurant street in Machida. I decided to wait in line for sushi because it seemed like a good deal for lunch. The line moved steadily, and I waited for about 20 minutes. The restaurant was bright and clean. For lunch, you could choose the number of pieces of sushi, such as eight or ten pieces. I chose the ten-piece lunch, which came with mackerel topped with kelp. The wasabi amount was just right, and the sushi was delicious.

During the period of staying at home on weekdays, I had to go to Machida for some errands. As lunchtime was coming to an end, I didn't have time to wander around the shopping street, so I decided to visit the food court in Odakyu Department Store, which is integrated with Odakyu Machida Station. I saw a sign at Unagi Futaba saying that they had received "naturally caught shako unagi from Okayama." Although the temptation was strong, I didn't have enough time as I had another appointment. I promised to come back for the shako unagi later. So, I quickly found another restaurant, Asahi Sushi Main Store. It is a prestigious sushi restaurant with its main store in Shimotakaido. I ordered the 10-piece lunch set with a variety of toppings such as tuna, sea bream, salmon, squid, ark shell marinated in kelp, mackerel, bonito, tamago, peeled shrimp, and botan shrimp. It also came with miso soup with seaweed. The soy sauce here is a bit salty, but they also had mini bottles of low-sodium soy sauce on the table. After finishing my meal, I wiped off the sweat and hurried to the Yokohama Line ticket gate. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Sushi restaurant located on the Odakyu restaurant floor. The atmosphere inside is bright and casual. I sat at a table and ordered the Ise set. I didn't particularly pay attention to the freshness mentioned in the reviews. I was satisfied with the meal. The tables are placed close together, so I couldn't relax as conversations from neighboring tables were clearly audible. (Note: The reviewer did not mention the prices or value for money.)

I went for lunch on a holiday around 1:30 pm. The restaurant was not too crowded so I chose a table seat. The chair was wet so I had to wipe it myself. Even though someone saw me wiping it, they didn't say anything. I ordered the Chef's choice sushi lunch set with 10 pieces. When the order arrived, I was surprised. The squid was average, the mackerel was average, dry and not tasty, the scallop was average, the tuna had a lot of sinew and wasn't delicious, the sea urchin wasn't tasty, the eel wasn't tasty, it didn't taste like eel, the salmon roe was like 100 yen sushi or even worse, and the shrimp was average. If I'm going to spend 2500 yen on lunch, I could have eaten something much tastier. The 100 yen sushi is more delicious. Thank you for the meal.
