I went to Seed Cafe in Botan, Koto-ku, about 500m from Monzen-Nakacho Station on the Tokyo Metro towards Kiba on a weekday around 18:30. I used the Koto shopping district shopping vouchers from July 1, 2023, which I could use from 2023. The location of the restaurant is in a residential area. There is no bicycle parking, so there was a notice for cyclists to use a public bike parking. The interior of the restaurant is very bright and clean, with one 4-person booth at the back and three 2-person booths in the front. Jazz music was playing quietly in the background. The restaurant is run by a young grandmother, mother, and their elementary school daughter, who was helping out during her summer vacation. I chose the Spicy Chicken Curry for 900 yen tax included from the menu. However, during payment, it was somehow 800 yen tax included. The curry was delicious with tender chicken and a mild, flavorful curry sauce. It came with a fresh salad with lettuce, cabbage, cucumber, soybeans, and green peas. They also serve dishes like ginger pork for lunch, and I would love to visit again. Daily ginger pork with coffee for 1,200 yen. It took 10 minutes to arrive. The ginger pork was seasoned just right, not too strong or too light. The salad was plentiful and satisfying. After eating the macaroni salad, I had a sudden craving for macaroni and bought some at a nearby store. I also bought my first Pacific saury of the year. Unfortunately, the daily special keema curry was sold out. It seems like keema curry is a rare find here. This hidden gem of a restaurant is located in a residential area off the beaten path. Since there are only a few seats, I had my coffee quickly and left. The staff were friendly, and it's a great place to relax and take your time.

Today's daily special was ginger pork, although it was originally supposed to be keema curry. I love ginger pork, so it worked out well for me. I ordered an iced coffee to drink. The dish was served with plenty of fresh vegetables. The ginger pork included eggplant and green peppers, making it very vegetable-rich. The pork was a bit tough, but the portion size was generous and it provided plenty of Vitamin B1. The soup, similar to pork miso soup, was also full of ingredients. The side dish was cucumber and macaroni salad with mayonnaise, rich and creamy. The rice was cooked just right, with a shiny and slightly firm texture that brought out its sweetness. The ginger added a nice flavor as well. I finished the meal with a refreshing iced coffee. It felt like being at home and I enjoyed chatting with the friendly staff. The cozy atmosphere of this mom-and-pop shop in the old town is truly delightful.

There aren't many relaxed cafes around Kiba area, so I happened upon this place and decided to stop by. It was lunch time on a weekday, and there was only one group of local ladies dining there, so it doesn't seem to be frequented by office workers for lunch. As a result, I was able to leisurely enjoy my meal and coffee. The lunch set was 1200 yen, with a daily special and a few other options including salad, main dish, and a drink. I chose the daily special, pork sauté. The salad portion was generous. I thought it would be a nice place to come to when I want to have a leisurely lunch, with a relaxed and homemade feel. However, it can get quite busy and the availability fluctuates. There is also a private room in the back that can be reserved. The friendly owner recommended it to me. They also serve alcohol, so it might be a place for a casual drink in the evening in the neighborhood.

I visited this café for lunch after 12 o'clock. It is located in a residential area and has a nice atmosphere with a bright interior. The lunch menu includes curry, taco rice, gratin, BLT sandwich, etc., with soup, salad, and a drink for around 1,000 yen. Many customers also order takeout, and the café seems to be popular with the locals. Today, I had the taco rice for 1,000 yen. The taco rice had a lot of vegetables and the minced meat stir-fry was delicious. The macaroni salad and soup were also tasty. The overall use of vegetables was skillful and delicious. I enjoyed my meal today as well.
