I stopped by yesterday while taking a walk. As usual, I ordered a jumbo highball, vinegar motsu, and spicy lotus root. I've had the vinegar motsu 36 times now, but I never get tired of it. I also ordered some gyoza, but I was so focused on eating that I didn't take any photos. Although there are no photos, I highly recommend the gyoza here. They taste great on their own or with sauce, like yuzu pepper. You need to order at least two servings, so I don't eat them often, but they're definitely worth trying. Make sure to download the app because you can get a stamp card for 100 gyoza after 10 visits.

I went for a walk at night and felt like having a light drink, so I went to a place I've been to 35 times in total. With the app, I can get a large highball for a regular price, so I had just one drink. Today, I had 5 types of skewers, vinegar motsu, and pizza sticks. I always order the vinegar motsu, and I never get tired of it. I forgot to take a picture of the pizza sticks and ate them right away. I'll definitely come back again!

The other day, I went to Hakata Gekijomachi Maruda store with a high school friend for a second round. We didn't eat much, or rather, we were drunk and only took one photo of chicken skin. Among yakitori, chicken skin is one of my favorites, but I was too full to eat more. I drank a large jug of ginger sour and that was it.

I used to visit the ramen shop's chain store and installed the app (paid). I went there because they give you as many gyoza as your age during your birthday month. The inside of the shop was not very spacious and was crowded with people. There were customers of various ages, so it seems to be popular. You order food by scanning the QR code at your table with your smartphone, so you don't have to call a staff member each time, which is very convenient. The food tasted like a delicious izakaya, with not too strong seasoning, which was good. By having the app, you can get more benefits the more you visit, so it's a shop I want to continue using.

I had to stay in Machida again and went out to find a place where I could have a drink alone during dinner. I tried Hakata specialties such as iron pot gyoza, sesame mackerel, and chicken skewers. The voice of the staff at the restaurant was very loud, and there were many young people, so it wasn't a calm atmosphere for a solo drink.

I visited the restaurant in Machida twice in a row to kill time. I became a premium member after collecting 10 stamps as an app member (lol). The member benefit is 100 gyoza. It's 16 pieces per serving, for a total of 16 servings. So, I can eat and drink quite cheaply for a while. This time, I ordered a mixed oden, simmered dish, and two mega highballs for 2,000 yen. I liked the oden from my previous visit, so I ordered it again. It's been a while since I had the simmered dish, but the tofu was deliciously flavored. It's a great chain restaurant with excellent cost performance. The kitchen staff works diligently without cutting corners, which I appreciate. They routinely cook the gyoza in a cast iron pot with plenty of oil until it's piping hot, but this time I saw them adding scrambled eggs three times to make it fluffy, so I plan to order that next time. The young staff members working there didn't seem like just part-timers, they had the aura of professional chefs. It's truly a well-made restaurant, so I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Well, this place feels like you get what you pay for. The food is overall average, nothing special, but the staff's service is lacking. They should really think about hospitality! When I mentioned that I had a reservation for XX, they cheerfully directed me to the counter... Wait, I reserved a table though... Oh, in that case, please follow me, and they took me to a seat that was clearly not reserved and right next to a large group... I sat down feeling frustrated from the start. The beer wasn't cold enough, and the gyoza was crispy but lacked flavor. The motsunabe was tasty, but everything else was just okay. Considering the price, it's not too bad, but compared to their sister restaurant, Ramu-chan, it's a world of difference... I don't think I'll be going back... I wonder if there's a good motsunabe place in Machida!?

It's been a while since I had some time to kill in Machida. The season seems to have skipped summer and gone straight to early winter, with a cold chill in the air. It's finally the season for oden. I used to mainly order skewers, but this time I tried the oden assortment for the first time. For 600 yen, you get a mix of daikon radish, hanpen fish cake, boiled egg, thick fried tofu, and konjac. I'm not sure if it's bonito or mackerel, but they generously sprinkle it with flour, giving it a rich flavor. The flour gives it a Fukuoka-style touch. Even with a couple of side dishes, the total comes to around 2,000 yen.

I came to Hakata Theater after a long time! This month's limited-time campaign is to bring a stamp (physical) and get a free 1-liter drink. I didn't plan for it this time, but luckily I had a stamp in my bag. Being a member of this store's app is really worth it. I received a Premium Malt (tax included 1,290 yen). Since I'm poor, I usually drink beer-like happoshu, so having a Premium Malt after a long time is delicious. I drank the 1 liter little by little, and now I'm completely drunk. The skewer platter I ordered as a side dish had a different combination every time, which is fun, but this time it was tomato bacon, asparagus pork, white meat, rose, and tsukune. The combination was good, but the taste was a bit lacking. Well, it's okay because it's fun. Thank you as always.

I had an hour to kill in Machida while waiting for my child's extracurricular activities, so I tried various things to pass the time. In terms of cost performance, Hakata Gekijo was the best choice. I also visited the Meguro branch last week and was satisfied with a combination of 5 skewers and a large highball for just over 1,000 yen. Today, I tried the same at the Machida branch and the skewer combination was different, which was fun. While the tsukune was the same, the others were new to me. The negi-niku maki (leek-wrapped meat) and hatsu (chicken heart) were especially delicious. At around 150 yen per skewer, the cost performance is high, and the menu is addictive. I feel like the same could be said for their oden platter, so I will continue to visit Hakata Gekijo.

I came back here again to kill time. A liter of beer is around 500 yen for app members. I didn't think much of the iron pot dumplings at first, but now I've become addicted after coming here regularly. Seeing the staff looking happy, I always admire how nice it is to be young. I don't want to sound cliché, but coming here to get some energy is always a good idea.

I wanted to eat chicken skin rolls in Hakata, so I visited Yataiya Hakata Gekijo. It's a shop that gathers street stall dishes from Nakasu. When I sat at the counter, they explained about the app registration and campaigns, but it felt like they were talking too much and I just wanted to order quickly. Finally, I was freed and ordered tonight's dishes.
- Mega Highball ... Heavy, should have just ordered a regular one
- Mentaiko Nametake Oroshi ... Consistently delicious
- Chicken skin skewers ... Too tough
- Hakata Negi Maki ... Well-balanced and tasty
- Chicken tsukune ... Juicy and delicious
- Fried kibinago ... A bit too much, maybe half the portion would be enough
The staff is energetic, which is good, but maybe a bit too loud. Thank you for the meal.

In Machida, killing time is a regular event. On the 13th, I visited Hakata Gekijo because dumplings were on sale. One plate for 130 yen (so cheap!). Additionally, if you bring sports day goods, you get a free large draft beer, so I brought my child's red and white hat. The staff laughed and said it was authentic. I ordered 3 plates of dumplings (campaign), 4 pieces of chicken skin, vinegar motsu, and a large draft beer (campaign) for 1,200 yen. My satisfaction level was 120%. At first, I thought it was inferior to Fukuoka, but as I went more often, I started to find it delicious in its own way (lol).

The other day, I paid a 200 yen membership fee and became a member of the app. My main goal is to receive a birthday present of gyoza based on my age. Obviously, getting gyoza based on my age is impossible, but since the gyoza at this restaurant is small, I can handle a large quantity. I left it up to the kitchen staff to order 20 pieces. I also ordered a large highball, white motsu skewers, and spicy cod roe with sardines. Compared to the famous Gion restaurant in Hakata, the gyoza here is not as good, but it is generally tasty. The gyoza is served in a hot iron pot, has a strong garlic flavor, and is accompanied by yuzu pepper. I promise to pay properly next time. By the way, this chain restaurant only has two locations, but both have many regular customers dining alone. The food is reasonably tasty and cheap, but the highlight is the presence of young staff. I always think how nice it is to be young.

I love Hakata so I finally decided to visit Hakata Theater, which I had been wanting to go to. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice. The young staff members are all energetic. I love Hakata because the food is delicious and the people are friendly and cheerful, and this restaurant seems to be trying hard to create that Hakata atmosphere. You can see the young staff members working alone in the open kitchen, making grilled dishes and iron pot gyoza, and they are working hard. If I had to make a suggestion, I think the iron pot gyoza would be even more delicious if they sizzled it a bit more in oil. Also, the sesame mackerel would be better if it was cut into slightly smaller pieces for better balance. I like the atmosphere, so if the flavors were a bit closer to the original, it could become a place I would visit more often.

I visited the restaurant because I received shareholder benefits coupons that expired at the end of November. I had a salt lemon sour (418 yen) and a black hoppy set (440 yen) to toast! The hoppy is poured by the staff with a kettle until you say stop at your table. The appetizer is all-you-can-eat cabbage.
- Iron pot dumplings 2 servings 638 yen
It seems that eating with yuzu pepper is the Hakata way. They are small and easy to eat! They are served in an iron pot, so they stay warm. There was also a challenge where you had to make a reservation by the day before and if you ate 100 pieces, it would be free!
- Miso stir-fried beef hormone 693 yen
The sweet fat of the beef hormone! It goes well with the crunchy vegetables and miso flavor. I had another round of fresh grapefruit sour and hoppy set, and the total bill was around 4000 yen. Thank you for the meal.

I came to Machida from Yomiuriland. I headed to a shop I found online. Upon entering the shop... I smelled cigarette smoke. It was a smoking-permitted shop. I'm sorry, but I left. I tried going to a shop that served motsunabe, but this one also allowed smoking at the table... I left again. I continued walking and searching. How about this place...? Upon entering, I asked immediately, "Can you smoke here?" and they replied, "No, you can't." Great! Let's choose this shop then! Luckily, there was a seat available at the counter. And they had motsunabe! They even had vinegar motsu! Perfect!! First, I ordered a drink. Of course, a lemon sour. Then we each ordered what we wanted to eat. The vinegar motsu is a must-have. The food was all delicious. My favorites were the vinegar motsu and the negi maki. The staff were all friendly and greeted us with a smile. There aren't many branches in Kanagawa Prefecture, so it might be difficult to go back, but if I have the chance, I would love to dine here again.

We visited this shop in Machida for a rare drinking session with colleagues from work. On a weekend night, there were a few groups of customers. We were able to get in without a reservation. We started with a "Premium Malt Aroma Ale (580 yen)" for a toast. Beer tastes great when enjoyed outside. We ordered the "Chicken Skin Skewers (150 yen)" as our main dish, and got 2 extra skewers as a bonus because they were small. The chicken skin skewers were wrapped tightly on the skewer, coated with a sweet and savory sauce, and crispy on the outside - delicious! We also ordered the "Tea Beans (180 yen)" which had a richer flavor than edamame. The "Chilled Tofu (180 yen)" was a good size and tasted great. We couldn't resist ordering the "Shaka Shaka Potato" fried potatoes which were flavored with consomme and were tasty. The "Iron Pot Dumplings (290 yen)" were okay, and the photo shows two servings. The "Pork Belly (150 yen)" was what we really wanted to try, with its sweet and savory sauce and delicious fat. The "Chicken Thigh (150 yen)" was decent in size and taste. For drinks, we had a "1L Highball (590 yen)" which was strong and worth the price with plenty of ice. The "Hoppy Set (400 yen)" came with shochu that kept pouring until we said stop, so we had to pace ourselves. In the end, we had three refills of the "Middle (200 yen)". After a night of eating and drinking, the bill came out to over 5,000 yen per person. It was more than expected, but the chicken skin skewers were delicious! Thank you for the meal!

I heard that the chicken skin yakitori in Hakata has become a regular menu item, so I decided to check it out. Recently, my friends have been talking about this place a lot and apparently it's quite popular for birthday celebrations with gifts like gyoza, so I went to see for myself. It was past 9pm on a weekday and there was only one seat available. The place was lively, or rather, noisy and hot! Since it was our second stop of the night, we ordered a bit less - 2 servings of gyoza, 2 chicken skin skewers, 2 green pepper cheese skewers, and chicken karage (I almost forgot to take a picture...). The karage was delicious, just the way I like it! We had 3 drinks and it came out to around 3000 yen. That day, highballs were only 100 yen each. Amazing. As for the chicken skin skewers, well, I've never had the authentic ones so I'm not sure what the right taste is, but I wish they were a bit more crispy. But I prefer them over the ones at Ichikoro (156). The gyoza stuck to the hot plate and broke apart when we tried to pick them up. What a shame. I heard that if you become a member through the app, you can receive a gift for each year of your age on your birthday. There's also a challenge where if you can finish 100 dishes in one hour, it's free. From what I saw inside the restaurant, it seemed like mostly regular customers and the staff were quite friendly. It's a place where tastes may differ. There were many things I wanted to try, but the noise level was a bit... If I were to go with someone next time, sitting at the counter might be better.

After visiting my parents' house with my friend, we decided to stop by the food stall, Hakata Gekijomachi Maruta, with a little bit of expectation. We had made a reservation and arrived more than an hour early, with a total of four people including myself, my friend, and a couple we knew from Uemizo. We were seated at a table that could accommodate up to six people. We started off with a Cheers Ale for 580 yen (excluding tax) and cheers! The complimentary appetizer for 300 yen was fresh cabbage (which we didn't ask for a refill as expected). We ordered the following items:
- Iron Pot Gyoza (6 pieces) for 290 yen each x 2 (minimum order of 2 portions)
- Spicy Mentaiko Motsunabe (small) Level 2 for 1380 yen
- Hakata Kushiyaki Assortment (7 skewers) for 980 yen
- Special Horse Sashimi for 730 yen
- Tofu Mentaiko Cheese Grilled for 450 yen
- Nikudofu for 380 yen
- Mentaiko Grilled Skewer for 650 yen
- Hakata Chicken Cutlet for 680 yen
- Squid Onion Rings for 450 yen
All side dishes were priced at 180 yen, and all drinks were priced at 100 yen on that day!
When listing them out, it seems there are affordable and not-so-affordable items... The highlight was the Mentaiko Motsunabe, which unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of. It appeared very spicy with its bright red color but was actually mildly spicy. The Motsu was chewy and delicious, with a whole belly of Mentaiko that was not fishy at all. It was really tasty (the other three members agreed as well). The Mentaiko Grilled Skewer supervised by "Fukuya" and the original dish of Hakata Gekijomachi was a perfect match for drinks! The chicken cutlet looked very voluminous at first glance, but the amount of cabbage covering the cutlet was impressive (the cutlet was hiding underneath). The taste was not as bad as I had expected (excuse me!). The staff, including the beautiful waitress from Okinawa, seemed to be working hard. However, for our team of "oldies" (I am the youngest), one visit was enough to enjoy it. By the time we left, the place was almost full even though it was a weekday. When we received the bill, we were quite surprised. Since we were quite heavy drinkers, ordering a "drink-to-the-bottom bottle for 2800 yen" of shochu or ordering beer and sour in a huge 1L jug might have been a better deal... maybe (haha). Shareholder vouchers and coupons cannot be used together. Since there are no stores in Hokkaido, I guess it's okay to use them within the expiration date. We experienced a taste of Hakata in Machida. Thank you for the meal.
